  Honda (american honda motor co.) is recalling certain 2013-2023 honda accord, civic coupe, civic sedan, civic hatchback, civic type r, cr-v, hr-v, ridgeline, odyssey, acura ilx, mdx, mdx hybrid, rdx, rlx, tlx, 2019-2022 honda insight, passport, 2020 honda cr-v hybrid, 2018-2019 honda clarity phev, fit, and 2015-2020 honda accord hybrid, pilot, acura nsx vehicles. The fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.
  dealers will replace the fuel pump module, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed february 5, 2024. The certification label on the driver's side door states incorrect gross vehicle weight rating (gvwr), gross axle weight rating (gawr), and tire size information. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard number 110, "tire selection and rims."

• Recall 245225 [USA]: An unlatched seat belt cannot properly restrain the seat occupant during a crash, increasing their risk of injury.

• Recall 128759 [USA]: The unintended steering input reduces vehicle maneuverability and increases the risk of a crash.
  Honda (american honda motor co.) is recalling certain 2017-2018 honda civic and cr-v vehicles. The magnet that controls the torque sensor output signal for the electronic power steering system may not be properly secured, allowing the magnet to become dislodged. During a full lock turn, the dislodged magnet may cause steering assist to be applied in the opposite direction.

• Recall 2018536 [Canada]: Steering
  On certain vehicles, the electric power steering system could get caught in an infinite loop of steering assist going from lock to lock due to a manufacturing defect in the torque sensor. This could cause unintended steering input, reducing vehicle manoeuvrability, which could result in a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. • Recall 2017347 [Canada]: Fuel supply
  On certain vehicles, the fuel feed pipe may not have been properly manufactured. Upon the fuel lines being pressurized, the connection between the feed pipe and fuel hose could separate, resulting in a fuel leak which could cause an engine stall. Additionally, a fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source could increase the risk of fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will replace the fuel feed pipe and associated single use retainers.

• Inadvertent automatic emergency braking investigation # EA24002

  On february 21, 2022, the office of defects investigation (odi) opened preliminary evaluation (pe22003) to assess reports of inadvertent activation of the collision mitigation braking system (cmbs), an automatic emergency braking (aeb) system, in model year 2017-2019 honda cr-v and 2018-2019 honda accord vehicles.  the reports allege that activation of the aeb system occurs while driving with no apparent obstruction in the vehicles forward path, resulting in sudden vehicle deceleration. Honda indicated that they were aware of a total of x,xxx reports that may relate to the alleged defect. Honda provided analysis of the alleged defect and alleges that some customers possibly had an inadequate understanding of the cmbs and its limitations.  however, many consumer complaints allege that honda dealerships were unable to reproduce the condition or state that they were informed that this is considered normal cmbs operation. To date, odi has received a total of 1,294 consumer complaints of inadvertent activation of cmbs in 2017-2022 honda cr-v and 2018-2022 honda accord vehicles. A total of 31 complaints alleged a crash and 50 alleged an injury.  the total column in the failure report summary removes duplicate reports and shows the total number of reports with unique vins from all manufacturer, odi, and ewr data sources.  in some cases, there were multiple reports associated with a particular vehicle in which recurring failures were alleged.  in total, there were x,xxx reports, 93 injury incidents and 47 crashes involving vehicles with unique vins that may relate to the alleged defect. Pe22-003 has been upgraded to an engineering analysis to further assess the scope, frequency, and potential safety related consequences of the inadvertent aeb activations. The scope has been expanded to include assessment of model year 2020-2022 honda cr-v and accord vehicles. The contact owns a 2017 honda cr-v. The contact stated while shifting gears, the shifter button detached without warning. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 29,000.

The contact owns a 2017 honda cr-v. The contact stated while his wife was driving approximately 50-60 mph, the brake pedal was stiff. The driver shifted into neutral as the speed decreased and placed the gear shifter into park. The braking system warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was restarted and drove as designed. The vehicle was towed to the local dealer where they were unable to determine the cause of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 34,081.

Uknown. The button on the shifter knob broke when i shifted from park into reverse. I have to reassemble it every time i need to shift.

Electrical: this honda crv has had problems with the battery at apx12,000 miles. Battery fully discharged, requires being reset at a service facility because even after jumping the car, dash states that many of the functions will not operate. How stupid is that? Very. Battery dead again in dec. 2020, just under 13,000 miles. After jump, i traveled about 70 miles. After 2 days, dead again. Another 2 hr delay waiting for a jump and went directly to replace the battery. We bought the car new in nov of 2017, this should not happen. The service person said that honda puts in cheap batteries, so i attributed it to that until i read many of the nhtsa reports here with issue after issue being reported. Also, in summer of 2020, we noticed the air conditioning system seemed very weak. I did not take any action at that time, not sure what to do about that. Now in june of 2021, there is definitely a problem, no ac on these over 90 degree temp heat wave days. One doesn't buy an expensive car to have problems like this. Entering the car on a hot rainy day with the inside front windshield all fogging, you can't clear it without air conditioning. I couldn't drive the car until it cleared, which took a long time. I guess visibility isn't a high enough safety issue for honda. And again after reading a hundred of these nhtsa reports, no need to read all 206, the pattern is clear. I now see the number of problems i will most likely face, my gear shift knob falling apart, car suddenly breaking when no other cars are around, or when cars are behind me and slam into me. I will sell the car and move on to a different manufacturer. This is my first honda, and will be my last. Honda doesn't give a crap about these incidents because there are many and they have done nothing. I'm not even sure what the nhtsa does other than collect these if they don't hammer a company to fix repeating problems. Maybe they just keep them for archives? Hey nhtsa> what is the point if you do nothing???

I have a 2017 honda crv with 1.5 turbo with only 89,651 miles. When we started the vehicle every warning light on the dash was on , including parking brake, lane departure, forward collision warning, lane keeping assist . So we didn't know if it was safe to even drive the car home. So i had to have a family member bring a code reader so i i could see if we could drive it home. It only had 3 codes, P0302 cylinder 2 misfire dtc severity 2 of 3, P0302 cylinder 2 misfire detected and another P0302 cylinder misfire. Had no codes of all the warning lights that were flashing on the dash. I cleared the codes with the code reader and all warning lights went off. So we drove it home. The next day we sent it to a honda dealer and they performed a software update and a air-fuel test on all 4 cylinders. The vehicle did fail air-fuel test. The honda dealer recommends new fuel injectors at a cost of $ 1264.00 . I feel there is a defect in the fuel injectors if they only lasted 89,650 miles. Also honda might have a software problem if bad fuel injectors makes all the warning lights go on .

Entire system failure occurred while driving on a 4-lane interstate at speeds of 70 mph in congested traffic in air temps of 80 f (sunny). Vehicle lost all power both electrical / mechanical for roughly four to five seconds. There was immediate deacceleration and zero power (electrical / mechanical). Driver's immediate response was to remove hands from steering wheel and removed foot from gas in a state of shock/disbelief. Vehicle then restarted itself and resumed function. Driver was put at extreme risk as well as all other drivers / vehicles in surrounding roadway due to the extreme deacceleration with no warning. Incident reported to dealer who stated they had not heard of such an occurrence and requested vehicle be brought in for a $120 diagnostic check. Vehicle purchased new. Mileage at time of incident 20,000.

During a routine drive, i heard what sounded like a piece of plastic fall into my cup holder area. I glanced into the cup holders and surrounding center console area, but did not observe anything that may have fallen into it. The vehicle continued to operate as normal so i continued to my destination. When i arrived, i went to put my vehicle in park, but then noticed that my gear shifter actuation button was missing. I was only able to get the vehicle into neutral, but not park or reverse. I looked down on the drivers side floor, but did not see the missing actuation button. My next thought was to get out of my seat and look for it under my seat. When i took my foot off of the brake pedal, the vehicle started to roll because i was on a slight grade and still in neutral. I then set the parking brake to hold the vehicle while i searched for the missing button. I finally found the button and the spring that goes with it laying on the drivers side floor almost under the seat. I observed the actuator and could see where it was actually broke, but i was still able to insert it back into the gear shifter handle and put the car into park and shut it off. To get home later, i had to wrap some electrical tape around the button so that it would not fall out again. When i got home, i could not turn my car off after parking because the electrical tape was preventing the actuation button from fully disengaging. I later removed the tape and covered the entire shifter knob with a small sock to hold the actuation button in. Currently looking into recalls and repairs.

While driving about 25 mph on a corner, all the warning lights on dash board lit up and power suddenly dropped to less than 10 mph. Luckily there was a turnout where i pulled over. If someone was following me i could have been rear ended and pushed into on coming traffic. There was no warning or indication that i would be losing power like that. I have talked to honda dealership and they have not heard of this happening. I have googled this problem and it seems that other 2017-2018 crvs are experiencing this issue too.

June 2, 2021 car was taken to local honda dealer. Touch screen problems. Touch screen said anti theft system not workingpress and hold power button. I did and screen went black. I feel unsafe driving with a black screen ,when i back up i have no rear camera. I have no access to the other settings either. Honda repairmen updated computer system and it worked for one day. Today -june 4, 2021 the screen lit up when i started the car, went black with no warning messages a minute later. A few minutes later it came back on.
