  (a) in conditions of low oil pressure or a sticking valve in the gearbox with the vehicle stationary in drive the gearbox will without warning or indication select reverse. (b) with the vehicle moving forward in 1st 2nd or 3rd gear reverse may be selected without any manual input in the event of a loss of oil pressure in the transmission.
  reprogramme the gearbox gear selector module.

• Recall R/2009/047 [UK]: Under floor /rear cross member brake pipe corrosion
  It has been identified that a touch condition can exist between the rear under floor brake pipes rear cross member brake pipe and their unions and a noise vibration harshness pad. Where this condition exists water and detritus can collect and be held in contact causing the corrosion protection to abrade. This can lead in time to brake fluid leakage increased brake pedal travel and in some cases reduced or loss of service brake performance.
  recalled vehicles will have the subject brake pipes inspected. Those displaying red rust on the pipes or unions will be replaced.

Interior roof lining over the back seat all of a sudden came loose without warning, fell down and dangled from the roof and completely blocked the view in the rear view mirror out of the back window. The vehicle operation in this condition was totally unsafe to operate. The dealer where i purchased the vehicle and has provided routine maintenance since i have owned the vehicle (maintenance records prove this), repaired the problem (reglued the lining in place with a special adhesive) at my cost ($493.75), claiming the problem was out of warranty, contrary to my consumer complaint that jaguar should pay for the repair of this obvious latent defect, and it being a severe safety issue. The service department stated to me that jaguar cars in the 1998 to 2004 years routinely had this problem (this dealer repaired many and their service records should prove this) because of a design defect of using the wrong type adhesive or glue that connected the felt roof lining to a foam pad on the roof. Normal weather heat deteriorated the glue causing the lining to fall without notice. After 2004 i was told by the service manager the glue was replaced with the correct type adhesive. After many phone calls and letters to jaguar customer service, jaguar refused in writing to compensate me for the latent defect repair of a serious safety problem. I am unaware of jaguar recalling the dated vehicles to repair this safety problem, even though they know it exists, based on the comments from the service manager at my dealer about the regular repairs on 1998-2004 model jaguars. *tr

Vehicle was leased new. Vehicle stalls when going from reverse to drive and cooler engine temperatures. Dealer says that there is no remedy currently available. Dealer has also stated that jaguar is aware of the problem but does not have a solution either. Car has less than 500 miles on it. At vehicle delivery, vehicle also had broken power seat track, flaw in headlight and a paint flaw in the trunk.*ak
