An error in the communication module's sim card software can cause a mobile network connection failure, disabling the emergency call (ecall) system.

The software design of the communication module may fail to communicate the correct vehicle location for the emergency call system (ecall) in the event of a crash.

    Mercedes-benz usa, llc (mbusa) is recalling certain 2020 amg gt vehicles. The headlights may have been incorrectly aimed too high. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 108, "lamp, reflective devices and associated equipment."

    Issue: on certain vehicles, the headlights may not be properly adjusted, and could be aimed too high. Safety risk: headlights that are not properly adjusted could cause glare for oncoming drivers. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective actions: mercedes will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to check the headlight adjustment and correct it, if necessary.

  • Recall 2020253 [Canada]: Seats and restraints
    Issue: on certain vehicles, the lock that secures the backrest on the left-rear seat may be defective. As a result, cargo in the trunk could load the backrest in a crash and cause the lock to fail. If this happens, the seat backrest could tilt forward. Note: this recall only affects vehicles equipped with rear seat backrests that can be unlocked electronically. Safety risk: a backrest that tilts forward in a crash could increase the risk of injury. Corrective actions: mercedes-benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the backrest lock on the left-rear seat. As a precautionary measure, you should avoid loading heavy items in the trunk until the recall repairs are completed.

Corrective actions: mercedes-benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to repair the wiring harness for the communication module.

    Similar to 2021-112: issue: on certain vehicles equipped with the emergency calling (ecall) system, the sim card for the communications module could disable itself. If this happens, the ecall system would not work properly when there is a crash or when the sos button is pressed. Safety risk: if the ecall system does not work in an emergency situation, there could be a delay in response from emergency services. Corrective actions: mercedes-benz will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update to each vehicle. If the update cannot be completed successfully, you will be notified to schedule an appointment to have the update performed by a dealer.

In a busy intersection i was making a left turn, as i was edging out my car died, everything stopped, a quick malfunction error was seen on display. Took my 5 tries to get going and pull off, very scary, my wife has the same 2020 model, she had the same issue two hours later, it was the hottest day to date in phoenix, both cars were outside, she was leaving her parking lot at work when it happened. Two cars the same model, same day have tis issue with less than 3k miles, both cars are in the shop, 8 days and counting, i filed a complaint with meben that we want are money back, local dealer and mbenz engineers are involved,. No resolution. Dealer ran diagnostic test, showed nothing, but leaving the car out all day and taking for a test ride they had the same catastrophic failure. My wifes vin is [xxx], its a huge safety issue and the attitude is a mere shrug of the shoulders redacted to protect personally identifiable information pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u.S.C. 552(b)(6). *cc
