There are several cooper tires recalled and i was told this line is not one. This tire failed with a sidewalk bulge and now the rear passenger one is starting to bulge as well.

Driving down the freeway then all of a sudden my car lost 90% of power and could only go about 25mph. There was no warning. Car jerks violently steering becomes harder. You try to punch down on the gas and nothing happens. Also was forced to take city streets due to not being able to go a safe speed to stay on freeway/highway.

When taking off from any location engine revs to 4000 rpm until up to speed , need to be very easy on gas to get going up to speed , can be dangerous at intersections to get moving quickly if needed

Every now and then the airbag light with start flashing. But now it's been every time i turn the car on. I've never been in an accident.

2012 nissan sentra was bought 3 weeks prior with no problems. While traveling 60 - 70 mph on a highway the car suddenly stop running and the power steering went out and the vehicle was unable to steer out of the troubled area on the highway. The vehicle broke down in the middle of a highway. After research it seem to be the same actions that has happened to thousands of other nissan sentras. The defected cvt transmission causes this to happen. Luckily my son was not killed during a accident that was caused after he was rear ended and the vehicle was totaled.

Takata recall. I was trying to check why my car has the engine check light on and the main computer cannot connect to my car to give me a diagnosis, it just says that there is an error in the connection

Number 3 cylinder low compression with only 83k miles on the vehicle. Rough engine driving and check engine light on. Codes P0300 and P0303 displayed. This kind of engine failure shouldn't happen with such low mileage

It looses power and then it turns off,, and this happens on highway, really dangerous, then i had to turn off the key switch and and turn a break back on it turns on and then it keeps going slow but it keeps going, eventually goes back to normal

The transmission started slipping they told me that was normal now after 100k it slips all the time at highway speeds and the transmission overheats and the car not be driven more then 20 to 30 miles without over heating the transmission. Nissan should have done a recall. All they did was extend the warranty to 110 which by the time i reported i am at 112000 miles and now i have no recourse. I feel that these companies are avoiding recalls and doing these extensions to avoid having multiple claims. The government is failing to hold them accountable for defective products!!!

Car won't go over 20 mph. Rpms increase but no additional speed. The panel flickers of and then right back on. The wheel jerks. Has happened repeatedly. Twice while turning. Once while driving straight. Luckily i was. It on a highway only residential streets and rte 5. It happened in front of a mechanic for the dealership.

While driving on the highway, the car will stop responding to the gas pedal and lose power. You will either have to pull over or maintain a much slower speed. This becomes a hazard and can cause an accident.

On my way home visiting my son, i was on the freeway driving 75 mph, when i began to experience acceleration loss in my 2012 nissan sentra sl. My cvt transmission was overworking and you can clearly hear the transmission trying to change gears, my car dropped from 75 mph to under 50 mph on a busy freeway, the rpm's were running high while the car had zero power, my foot was completely pressed down to assist the car to accelerate and it would not. I managed to move my car over to the far right lane to try and recover my vehicles speed. This is an absolute hazard to those experiencing this same problem, it's a safety hazard for anyone traveling long distances, on a busy highway during, with children in your vehicle when your car drops to limp mode out of nowhere. My brother in law who just retired from the marine corp after 20 years of service took the vehicle to be serviced due to the recall on this model for the transmission failure just a year ago and is still showing signs of the same cvt transmission failure even after it was taken to nissan for repairs.

The plastic piece on drivers front fender keeps popping out so you have to keep popping it back so it's secure on frame as afraid it will fall off if don't. I noticed it after i had parked. Previously had to have a clip put on to secure the part. So this is second time it's happened if someone hits on that side would cause damage for sure

Based on information gathered, it appears the transmission cooler is not providing adequate fluid cooling when driving in high temperatures resulting in the transmission fluid to get hot and the car to go limp (stalled acceleration) which creates an unsafe operating condition. While driving my car will just shut off. It also will shutoff while stopped at a red light. I have taken it to a couple of shops and their test say bad oxygen sensor so i had it replaced, but this has not fixed the issue.

Blighty vehicle used at route 46, totowa, nj in 2017. It has 76k miles and we just moved to rhode island. My 18 year old daughter driving by herself up i 95 while driving 65 mph had the vehicle decelerate several times down to 40 mph despite pursuing the gas to the floor. At one point with semi trucks all around her it dropped to 25 mph where she had to put the hazards on while these trucks whipped by her. She got here but was freaked out. My odb picked up error code p074 for a clutch solenoid issue with the transmission. Known issue to nissan. How many of these do we have to report before someone gets killed to get this listed as a recall to fix the transmission? Nhtsa you have a duty to protect us and order nissan to fix this issue.

I was pulled over stating my tags were bad and to go to the dealership to obtain new ones. He then inspected my car and i was on my way aftet we discussed the tierod issue and made an appointment i then recorded on my phone the shake from the steering wheel. I later found out the blinking light was the airbag light not the seat belt light and the check engine light was on as well. The car should not have passed inspection. I got in a small fender bender and the insurance is now totaling my car.

The car turns off when stopped like at a red light or stop sign. Battery was replaced by the dealership a week ago. Alternator was checked and is good. I have to turn the key to the off position and start it again.

Rainy night 55 mph crash. Air bags did not deploy. Wet road, car ran off road, hit a sign post, went down embankment, flipped and rolled over into ditch. Daughter was seriously injured... 4 broken lower back vertebrae, 9 broken ribs, numerous pelvic fractures, lacerated spleen and kidney. Air bag warning light came on in the car

Tl* the contact owns a 2012 nissan sentra. While driving various speeds, the vehicle jerked and stalled. Additionally, there was an abnormal whistling noise emerging from the vehicle. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was taken to nissan of norwich (691 w thames st, norwich, ct 06360, (860) 892-6000) where it was diagnosed that the belt needed to be replaced and there was metal in the transmission, which needed to be repaired. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and provided case number: 35185453. The manufacturer stated that they would assist with sixty percent of the repair costs. The failure mileage was 57,000.

My check engine light triggered and i brought the car to my local nissan shop. The car had been running rough, loosing power, and burning oil. The mechanic told me i needed new spark plugs and a new boot. After agreeing to pay the $500, i received a phone call from the shop. The mechanic explained that the problem was not fixed, that actually i needed to replace the entire engine. After the $500 in work had been done, the mechanic performed a compression test. The test indicated a bad engine. So the work was done on a bad engine. The car had about 100,000 miles on it and has always had proper maintenance. So why is it bad already? And why was i mislead to pay $500 on a bad engine? This is not right. Please let me know if you need more information. Thank you for your time.

When opening the door the handle no longer functioned. Upon analysis of the problem, a plastic piece that had allowed the spring to activate had broken and this would not allow the door to open via the handle from the inside of the car. I was however able to open the door from the exterior of the car, rolling down the window to open the car door. After a harsh winter and the power windown swtich being replaced as well as the door lock actuator i was able to use my door properly again. The worse thing is that not even 3 months later i had the same problem happen again, dealt with it for a while, but winter has now come again and i still can not open my door from the inside. I have rigged a wire loop around the pulley system and created a way to open my door from the inside, but i had read multiple blogs that many people have had this problem with the sentra. I find this to be concerning and feel that nissan should recall these parts and offer lifetime replacement of the door lock actuator. If i was in an accident and my door was my only exit, would nissan be paying my family for my death?

Car could not change gear while driving had to take foot off the gas, when shifting gears from park it was very loose and slippery, car can no longer be driven it will only go into neutral. When the incident happened i was waiting at the light with my foot on the break and it wouldnt shift back to drive when i stepped on the gas.

I bought this car with 56,000 now it has 96,000, it has cvt transmission, the step motor is no longer useful; after having run only 40,000 miles is not fair !!!! I know many people who have had the same problem with this type of car, the factory should fix it at no cost to the consumer, i still owe the bank .. $ 7,000 and the repair costs me $ 4,000. You think it's fair to pay so much money, when i'm sure this is a factory defect ????

I have a 2012 sentra that i bought in 2014. I started to experience random loss of power on highway, and rpm would up at random times, like it was stuck in gear. Last yr i discovered that my cvt transmission was going bad and already had to replace the transmission (bought used). Less than a yeat later, im starting to experience the same problem. Nissan needs to extend the warranty thru the 2012 mdels, on any cvt transmission to 10 yrs. Very aggrivating considering i'm still making payments! I would never recommend this vehicle to anyone.

My nissan sentra has 85,000 miles on it and my transmission is completely broken. The cvt transmission they put in my car has an extended warranty in it for known problems with it. I was driving with my two small children on a very busy highway when it stopped moving and i had to pull over and restart it. When i restarted the vehicle t again would not move. I finally got it to move to where i got to a mechanic and they told me my transmission was completely broken. I took it to nissan and they are not going to help my fix it 100% fully knowing that the cvt transmission they put in the car has problems. I spoke with nissan customer affairs and they told me that because my car is out of their warranty there is nothing they can do to help me when this is not my fault. They keep producing cars that have this transmission in it and keep having to replace it except for my car. I have two small children that i need a car for. I have a loan out for the car that now i have to pay for that does not work! I can not afford to fix the transmission that nissan put in that is known to fault out!

Coasted to a stop on side of highway and had to wait approximately 30 minutes until car was responding to gas pedal. Not safe for anyone to be driving this car. My car is regularly serviced and cared for. It is parked in a closed garage every night.

For the last six months, i have been experiencing my vehicle loss of acceleration on only being able to go 10 mph max when my vehicle goes into limp mode. This happens to me on the interstate 64 westbound from richmond, va to harrisburg, va going uphill where i was going 70 - 75 mph when the vehicle loss acceleration and my speed dropped dramatically almost causing a wreck. This is due to being in the left lane and having nowhere i could pull off the interstate readily available. To me, this is a significant safety concern as this is happening now after being driven for 30 minutes to an hour. Took the vehicle to midas where i had them run a diagnostic test on the car to see if there are any codes on the car since there is "no check engine light on." the technician drove the car for 30 minutes and experienced the same issue i've been experiencing. The vehicle went into limp mode, and he had to wait an hour before the car would accelerate again. The technician came back with the following: 'tech found that the cvt transmission is having internal problems-vehicle us not safe to drive. Tech found code P1722 est vehicle speed signal, P0744 at tr sw function, P1778 step motor. Also, vehicle needs front struts and rear shocks - no control of steering wheel. It appears nissan has had problems with the cvt transmission from their 2007 - 2010 sentra and issued an extended ten year - 120,000 miles warranty. Nissan needs to extend the warranty to every year that nissan has used the cvt transmission as they are unreliable and eventually will cause a fatal accident on the highways with their transmission going into limp mode. Please look into this matter for all nissan sentra 2011, 2012, etc. This is a problem.

I have had my 2012 sentra for 1 month 1/2 and twice on long distance trips the car had slowed down. Going 80 slowed to 50 and the gas pedal was to the floor. Both times i've had to safely pull off three freeway and sit on the side of the freeway for a 1/2 hour. This is very disappointing otherwise the car is good

When going highway speeds the acceleration drops and will not come back with the peddle to the floor, was almost rear ended. At a stoplight when taking off the car would not accelerate. This has happened several times. Researched and found the issue is the cvt transmission. Nissan has extended warranty to 10 yr 1200000 mile on this transmission. I called to schedule and was told my vin is not covered. Why?

Power steering assist (electric in this vehicle) suddenly failed while driving on city street at 25 mph. The "ps" warning light came on car had been driven about 5 minutes before this incident, and i had just made a right turn. Steering became difficult, but i was able to return home. The next day, i started the car and drove around the block; the power steering worked and the warning light was off. I have not driven this car since then.

The computer system shut down and has locked up my car. I bought it in 2015 and it shutdown on me in early 2018. It was driving fine and all the sudden the computer system quit and the car will not move.

Transmission failed with no warning. Vehicle would not move after braking while still in gear. Only 78,000 miles logged.5.5 years old. Exact event: backing slowly out of a driveway (in reverse); braked at end of driveway to look both directions; resumed acceleration (in reverse) as i turned and nothing happened. Vehicle would not "land" in any gear (drive, reverse, low drive, etc). Had to be towed from location to my mechanic. My mechanic diagnosed the transmission as inoperable and needing replacement. Recommended i tow to a nissan dealer for hopeful coverage by nissan. Nissan confirmed need to replace at the cost of $4156.

While driving on the highway to go to work, the transmission went out. When i tried to accelerate, the car would rev but wouldn't go faster. Luckily, i was able to slow down enough, put on my hazards and stop without being hit by oncoming traffic. Had a cop not been nearby when it happened, i could have been. I had to wait in the middle of the highway for an emergency assistance response man to come and push my car to the side of the highway. Then, to add insult to injury, i had to wait 5 and a half hours for a tow truck to come and take my car to a shop.

Purchased 2012 vehicle from dealership in jan 2014 and have found that the vehicle is having a common problem in this model. Vehicle is decelerating while in motion. The traction control and abs lights came on so we took it to mechanic who said we needed to repair brakes, so we fixed the brakes as needed. Lights did not go off so we returned it to dealer who then informed me that when hooked up for the diagnostic test, a code returned saying there was a problem with the transmission. I described that the vehicle was slow on takeoff. Travels about 3-4 mph during takeoff, causing backup in traffic, and potential serious rear end accident. Technician stated that nissan acknowledged the problem and had extended the vehicle warranty to 60,000 miles. My vehicle has 50,000 miles so i was glad to hear, so i took it back to dealership for repairs. I was informed that i was out of warranty because warranty begins on date vehicle was manufactured, in this case jan 2012, so out of warranty by 9 months. I argued that i had not owned it from the date it was manufactured, and how much was the repair. Cost is $4500.00 i do not feel that as a consumer we should incur this costly repair if nissan has been made aware of this issue on this model vehicle. They should honor the defect detected and repair vehicle before there is a injury to persons because vehicle decelerates unknowingly at any given time, making the driver a sitting duck at intersections and takeoffs.

After a 1.5-2 hour drive on the highway, my car would not accelerate beyond 60 mph. It drove fine after getting home and getting some rest. No lights came on this first. Similar event happened a couple weeks later - much shorter drive approx. 20 minutes, slower speeds, but main inclines. All lights (check engine, oil, emergency brake, battery) came on and the car would no accelerate at all. I pulled over and turned the car off then back on again and it was completely fine.

While parked, vehicle starts but will not shift into drive, neutral or reverse. $798.00 to replace "shifter kit." vehicle is less than 5 years old and with 75,000 miles

Ses light threw code 0420 indicating that both o2 sensors need replacing. I bought the parts and took to a shop to replace. Shop had trouble reaching the upstream sensor and was worried it might be threaded and suggested i take to the dealer to replace. The dealer said the port was indeed threaded upon removal of sensor, and the only fix was to replace the exhaust manifold. Seems like quite a design flaw that replacing a $70 sensor causes the need for a $1000 manifold. Manifold isn't broken, only the o2 sensor port is threaded so therefore a new sensor can't be put in, necessitating the entire replacement of the manifold.

Engine stopped working with no warning while at a stop light on a city street, restarted after 5-10 minutes going back & forth through the gears back to drive. Temperature 115 on this day in las vegas , nevada

2012 nissan sentra started malfunctioning with battery replacement on march 25, 2015 at hanlees nissan in davis, ca, where i had purchased the vehicle in sept 2013 and where i had most service performed while i owned the vehicle. I commuted 1.5 hours each way for a new job in rohnert park and i was becoming ill. Unable to locate housing in the area i was unable to keep the job for more than 2 weeks. I suspect foul play with the davis service department. Car started having a loud clicking sound at just less than 30mph. Davis serviced car for two more years. They cannot provide a duplicate sales contract saying it is lost. Davis referred me to kim at fairfield nissan and she told me it is missing. This difficulty should not exist. I asked lienholder crb auto/mechanics bank to provide a copy and i have yet to receive. I made multiple attempts to have my car assessed at nissan davis, vacaville, north bay nissan in petaluma (replaced catalytic converter 7-31-17 60, 000 miles) problem not corrected. Vehicle now developed extremely poor gas mileage. I continued to get sicker. I had been illegally evicted from my rental home at 7172 yolano road, dixon, ca 95620 june 3, 2017 with harsh bullying against law in concert with the solano county sheriff's (ongoing investigation) i had had the vehicle towed to davis prior to leaving that address. I told them i got really ill when driving the car. They refused diagnostic work and recommended cleaning detail of car at my expense. Did poor job and had to repeat. Once homeless, i was in the car, relocated to marin county and continued to deteriorate in health. (er visits to document). Mileage had been 35-40 mpg decreased to15-20 mpg. Had vehicle towed to sf nissan on 10-3-17 and they reset all codes, could find nothing wrong. Car impounded in dt sf on 10-6-17; robbed of impound $500 cash and belongings on 10-10-17. Please help.

I have owned this car for 2 years. Every year, as it starts to warm up in the spring, the same problem recurs. I have had it to several repair shops, only to be told that it cannot be fixed. As i am driving on the freeway, it will suddenly start to decelerate, and i must pull off the road and let the car sit, turned off, for 20-40 minutes. Last week, the check engine light came on, and when i took it back to the dealer, they want $3000 to fix the car. This has been a problem since the first summer after i bought it.

After driving for 3+hours, the car begins to deaccelerate and you cannot go any faster while on the highway; very unsafe. Quoted over $3.5k to fix transmission. Car should last longer than 80k miles! Scared to drive it now. At one point, nissan covered the transmission for 10 years or 100,000 miles--should definitely go back to this as the cvt is not safe! The issue first started last summer. I had a car full of 4 teenagers and we were heading out of town and the engine began a loud whistle sounds and then the gas pedal quit working - we limped off the highway after almost getting hit and got a tow truck and rental car. The mechanic had us pay for a whole new motor. We thought the issue was fixed. Then a couple months later i again had 4 teenagers in my car heading out of town and the whistle noise started about an hour into the trip. Then it got louder. Then the car would decelerate going uphill. Then, as we got to the next exit, the gas pedal stopped working completely. We again almost died, barely made it to the gas station and realized there was an auto zone next door. So we went and had the codes read as the check engine light had just popped on...When i turned the car back on, everything worked fine but it had sat for 30 minutes. Research led us to the cvt issues with an extended warranty that had passed. We tried a transmission cooling device and did not drive the car over an hour. But this past week i tried again with 2 teenagers in my car...One hour in to a trip, it happened again. This is not ok for a car transmission to decelerate and put my children and my life at risk.

It was raining really hard about a month ago and i started to experience dripping from the roof of my car on the inside and dripping from the inside of my passenger door. I was sitting in the grocery store parking lot.

Purchased a brand new 2012 nissan sentra 5 years later my transmission goes. The nissan dealer said it would be $3,600 to fix!! The car has 71,000 miles and the warranty ended at 5/ 60,000. After researching, transmission issues have been documented in older models but was supposed to be fixed. Coincidentally mine has the same issue.

Door locks not reliable or secure. They will not consistently lock or unlock with the key fob. Battery has been changed in both keys and issue is still occuring. Items stolen from vehicle recently because i thought it was locked after hearing horn sound when pressing lock button on key fob. Car was parked in a public parking lot. This could be a potential safety issue.

Vehicle has trouble accelerating and while accelerating its began making noises with the transmission after going 70 mph or more. At times it shakes as i begin accelerating. I just bought this vehivle and it has only 46000 miles.

Vehicle refused to accelerate during prolonged uphill drive in 95f+ weather. Vehicle speed was reduced to below 50 mph and no amount of accelerator depressing increased speed or acceleration. Vehicle had to be pulled over for 10 minutes before it would accelerate normally again. No notice of engine overheat or malfunction was registered on the the dash. No indicators visible.

While driving, a piece fell out of the bottom of the car, after which the engine began to smoke and the car began to lose power. I pulled off the road and turned off the car, at which point the engine became engulfed in flames. The car has had no problems to date, and the check engine light has never come on.

About half-way through a highway road trip from dallas to houston, my vehicle began automatically decelerating from 85mph to 70mph although my foot pressed hard on the accelerator. I activated cruise control at 70mph, but the vehicle continued to decelerate although cruise control was activated and displayed beneath the speedometer. When the car's speed dropped from 70mph to 60mph on the highway, i took the nearest exit in centerville, texas and stopped at the gas station to turn my car off then on again. The car continued to decelerate, reaching only 45mph as i entered the busy highway yet again. After 15 minutes, the car began accelerating to 60mph. After struggling with the car's speed for about 30 minutes, everything returned to normal and the car began accelerating to 85mph once again.

Takata recall. The issue i'm having with my nissan sentra 2012 is an ongoing issue for awhile now. Traveling up to nv from ca, when i reached a certain hill of a slight altitude decrease my speed automatically from going 80mph to 50mph on the hwy. Even pushing the pedal to the metal, doesn't do any impact at all. Had to pull over and wait 30mins for car to rest and then it went back to normal. Even with doing a oil change and transmission flush, problem still occurs. Contacting the dealership didn't help because my warranty just recently went out with nothing they could do. On may the 12th 2016 i was in the nissan with my mother and sister on our way to hemet california from our home in lancaster. On highway 138 i began to hear a weird noise coming from the engine. I also noticed that i was not going as fast as i should have been up a hill. I pulled over, turned the car off and looked under the hood. I checked the oil, water, and it all looked fine. I went back in the car and continued my route. I got on the 10 freeway and everything was good. No traffic and i'm driving 55 miles an hour. I push the gas pedal to go faster and nothing happened. That is when i saw that the check engine light was on. The car had started to slow down. I pushed the gas pedal a few more times and when nothing happened i started to panic. I get over to get off of the freeway and now my speed is about 40mph. Cars are merging on the freeway behind me going at least 60. I was so afraid they were going to hit me. I safely got off of the freeway at north university st in redlands ca. I stopped the car on lytle st. I turned off the engine and opened the hood and it was hot and smoking. I sat there for 30 minutes with my family calling drivetime and aeverex the warrenty provider. I was so scared and confused. Aeverex told me that they work with pep boys and i may be covered on getting it fixed. With one pep boys being just 7 minutes away. I started the car and drove there with the check engine light still on. I didn't not leave my key with pep boys on that day because i was confused on the way aeverex worked. Pep boys of redlands received my key on 5/14/2016 and i got a call later that day from steve who helped me saying that the car needs a new transmission. I would like to know how drivetime completely missed that this car needed a new transmission. I only had it for 6 days!!!!!

I stopped at a stop sign and then was not able to move. Tried then going backwards and nothing. I was able to drift forward. However no acceleration. No warning signs, car has been working correctly since purchased. The car is was purchased in nov of 2011, this happened 3/3/16 less then 65,000 miles. I have the car maintained regularly by only the dealership where i purchased it from brand new. Only issue i have ever had with the car was being advised while maintence that the battery was reading dead in the car so they replaced it. I called the dealership and they said it sounds like a transmission problem and i'm over the 60,000 mile warranty.

Bought the car certified used from a nissan dealership w/ roughly 55k miles on it, cvt transmission fails, have it replaced. The new cvt transmission fails again with roughly 55k miles on. Nissan refuses to offer any assistance to help with replacing a cvt transmission that yet again has failed.

Car left running in parking lot after getting out. My problem is different from many but there are still many like me. The car runs so quietly, which is a plus, but in my case it has happened that i leave my car and it is still running and i don't know it. I have a severe hearing loss and depend on visual clues. I wish there were some way to put a light somewhere to alert me. I worry that the next time i will leave the car in my garage still running and then never wake up the next morning from co poisoning. I am an older person and prone to forgetting to check everything before leaving the car. What can be done? This is serious! This has happened two times in the past 6 months.

Takata recall: i was driving on the highway when the "check engine" service light came on, and my car immediately went from 60pmh to 20mph in a matter of minutes. I took it to the dealership that same day (3 weeks ago). After a diagnostic was tested, the throttle pedal position sensor needs to be replaced, and is on backorder. When i asked what that meant, they informed me that the part is not available. The dealership reached out to corporate (after having my car for 2 weeks) and come to find out there are 300 other cases dealing with this same part.

I've had the car for a while, about 4 months ago the oil light cam on i figured it just meant i was running low, i've never been in accident but some how my oil line is leaking

On christmas morning, i went out to the parked car to discover an exploded sunroof . Temperature was unusually mild that day, 75 degrees rather than teens or 20s. Not sure if the explosion was overnight or in the morning. There was no other damage to the vehicle or any downed branches nearby. Glass broke outward, not inward.

I was driving through town and was at a stop light when my car would not accelerate at all. No warning signs. No check engine light. It just wouldn't go. Took my car to the nissan dealer and was advised the transmission has to be replaced. Nissan refuses to assist with any of the cost. It's an automatic cvt transmission.

I was dropping off my passenger, i was in drive and had my foot on the brake, so the car was not moving, and he closed the door, maybe slammed a little as he was in a hurry to get out of the car, and then the air bags on the roof of the passenger side deployed, along with the air bags to the passenger seat. I was in shock since i know i've slammed my car door before and that has never happened. Luckily nobody was injured and there are no damages to my car.

I have had my car for just over 2 years. I bought it used for business trips mostly. I drove it for the first time on a long distance business trip and 3 hours into trip it stopped accelerating over 70 miles an hour. This continueed the entire way to my final destination. No lights came on, no sounds or smells either. Once i was in town driving on normal roads it was fine again. Then i drove it back home, same thing happened but more extreme. I took it to the nissan dealership in boulder colorado. In doing so i found out that all nissans had a warrenty recall to put in a cvt cooler part. A feature that all nissans need to insure the possibilty of long distance travel without the transmission over heating and not accelerating properly. The dealership then informed me that it would have been covered if i had brought it in before it was over 60,000 miles. Now that it is howevr, it is my responsibility to pay over $800 for a part my car should have come with. I called nissan noth america to find resalution, they closed the case and will not help me. I find this extremely unexceptable and dangerous. As a single 31 yr old woman, i could have been stranded in corn fields in the middle of kansas in the dark had my transmission failed unexpectedly. I purchased this car at 40,000 miles two yrs ago, it should have had that part put in before it left the lot. I will not accept this and am hoping to find some support in getting nissan to cover parts and labor for this issue. Please let me know your thoughts and how i should proceed from here. Thank you.

We own a nissan sentra 2012. I was driving my car to the mechanic in order to do an oil change. Five blocks before entering the mechanic shop, i heard a strong metallic noise on the left bottom part of my car. I asked the mechanic to check such noise. He told me that it was the electric rack and pinion unit. It was broken. According to him it is very rare that this part of the car could be broken in a 2012 car. Since he warned me that could have been dangerous to drive the car in that condition?A serious accident could have occurred, for when it happens both front wheels will roll in different directions?I ordered him to fix the problem. When coming to a complete stop and accelarating less than 1/4 mile after stopping the vehicle lost power and i had to quickly pull to the side of the road. I turned the vehicle off after stopping and tried to start again, and it just turned over but wouldn't stay started. After about 3 minutes i turned the ac off and tried to start the vehicle again and it started. Now i am afraid that this will happen again and i have lost confidence in it's safety. My used car warranty has expired and i am not able to have the car checked. It's been about a week now and i have not had it happen again. However, now the low tire pressure light has come on and i will have to have that checked. I heard that these problems has happened other 2012 nissan sentras, but there is no recalled as of yet.

The vehicle drifts both directions while driving, when braking it seriously pulls right. I have only had the car 6 weeks and haven't hit anything yet but if there are narrow lanes with parked cars i may not be so lucky. There are other problems the heat shields that cover the exhaust come loose and the air sensors in the tires leak so you need to put air in the tires weekly.

I was driving and my sunroof glass shattered. No cars in front of me and nothing fell on it. The glass shattered for no reason .

The brakes on my 2012 sentra stopped working, i was not able to move the pedal at all. I was traveling at freeway speeds and had to cut across traffic to get into the safety lane. I had to fully restart the car in order for the brakes to reengage. The gear on my car would not shift into "park" when i parked in a parking spot after driving around the city for 20 minutes. I shifted the gear into neutral then tried again but it still wouldn't work. After struggling for 7 minutes, i reversed out of the spot then drove the car around the parking lot and attempted to park the car again but the gear still wouldn't shift into park. After struggling and growing concerned and frustrated 5 minutes later, i repeated the process but the car still wouldn't shift into park. Ten minutes later the gear finally shifted into park when i parked the car again. The key cannot be removed from the ignition of a 2012 nissan sentra unless the car is in "park" and turned off.

I purchase used car from 2012 i never expect to have any car problem for at least 4 yrs, but that was not my case in 5 month of having the car it started to give me problems. The fist problem is that i had a leaking that was coming from the sun roof and the top light. I was told that the way is made it had to drain tube and they get clog. I was also told not to park my car under tree. Uh that's is kind of hard there's a lot trees in the country. I had to change the battery in about 3 months. The car when i turn it off the motor was still running. Few day after the my car would not start not even manually. I told that the ignition was not working and the anti theft system lock therefore i was not able to turn the car on. I also saw that the metal that is under the steering wheel was rusty from the leak. I research the recalls, but was not able to find any on this year. I was in an accident in november. The passenger airbag failed to deploy and the driver broke their nose and then fled the scene. I was unconsious in the passenger seat when wmts arrived and do to the driver fleeing i was charged with the accident and insurance failed to pay the settlement. All on claims that had i been in the passenger seat the airbag would have went off. I know that nissan has airbag problems all around the year of my car but am trying to find if any of these defective parts are in my car and could have caused a non deployment. The cops estimated that we were going 50 mph and hit a tree. I was asleep in the passenger seat so am not sure of how my body was positioned if it had effect on the pressure switch. I was severly injured 4 broken ribs broken nexk and multiply facial lacerations from the passenger side windsheild.

In the first incident, i came out from seeing a movie and i could not get my car out of park. A friend came to try to help and got it into neutral but it would not shift any further. The problem turned out to be the key release cable. I had a problem again in early november at approx 36,500 miles. This time the key would not come out of the ignition. Same key release cable was the problem. Even now the car still makes a clunking noise under the driver's seat and the key seems to scrape as it comes out of the ignition. Sometimes i pull the key out (and there is the scraping noise) and the doors do not unlock. *tr

Spouse parked and waiting in the car at airport arrival curb around 8:30pm. As i was walking towards the car, i heard a loud explosion, sounded like a gunshot. Then i noticed the car sunroof pieces shattered all over. No cars passing by. Temp around 90f. Luckily no passengers close by to the car. Spouse was in shock and luckily the sunroof cover was closed. I could not find a cause other than suspecting this is a vehicle manufacturing defect. The only damage part was sunroof itself. This is a serious safety issue that deem a safety recall of sunroof replacement. Luckily no one was injured. Reported the issue to nissan consumer affair and waiting to hear back from them. *tr

On august 25, 2014 while i did escape with my life and my whole body intact, after a witness was on scene she said she her a loud pop, well that loud pop was my front left (immediate driver's side tire) and i ended up in a brick wall. Not pleased with bridgestone, as my vehicle only had no more than 8000 miles on it, but very pleased with the vehicle and it's features. *tr

Daughter driving car on interstate when engine died. Was driving in left lane and narrowly avoided getting hit when maneuvering to shoulder on right. Problem turned out to be defective maf (mass air flow) sensor. No indication of trouble (check engine light, rough running, etc) prior to engine shutoff. Do not understand why car would not go into default (open loop mode) at this point rather than just shutting down. Vehicle would not restart. This is ever bit as dangerous as gm's ignition switch problem causing engine shutdown. Extremely dangerous when driving at interstate speeds in heavy traffic and vehicle engine just quits causing loss of power steering and power brakes and little time to react to get out of the way of other traffic. *tr

Vehicle was purchased used and the battery died after 3mos and 3000 miles, dealer refused to replace. Purchase price for new battery is $145.00 i find this charge ridiculous. This vehicle is used maybe every other day since we have 2 cars. The dealer said the car still has 60,000 miles warranty. On a certified pre owned vehicle i do not except having to put a new battery in the car. I must ask what kind of inspection do you guys do, and should i expect more things to go wrong with this car. *tr

I was driving in the center lane of a 3 lane highway when i heard an explosion and felt something hit me and realized by sunroof shattered and the glass came down on top of me. I pulled over when i could and could not find a cause for this. The only thing damaged was the sunroof itself. I did not have the visor closed so it covered me in glass plus i still feel the impact from either the spray or just the force on my right head,ear, and shoulder. No cuts, just sore. Was driving on freeway, accelerating toward 70 mph. Accelerator dropped away from under my foot, tachometer "pegged" 5000 rpm. Quick scan of instrument panel showed car was now in neutral, not drive. My hands were both on the steering wheel; i didn't touch the gearshift lever. The car shifted on its own. This started a series of problems with the transmission that continue to escalate; transmission will override braking (caused 2 accidents 2 weeks apart); on a 500-mile (1-way) business trip in july, car went into fail-safe mode 3 times - loss of power, accelerator non-functional. Car taken off the road by nissan corp, but no repairs done; after 49 days out of service, car was released to me, continues to exhibit transmission problems. Now the steering is extremely hard to operate, as if there's no power steering in the car. When transmission overrides brakes, it feels like the car is being pushed, then chokes down (nose of car dips), then is catapulted in the same direction (d or r); in this sequence, brakes fully applied will not stop the car. Nissan's only response is to self-protect against a lawsuit; no concern for the welfare of someone driving a car in this condition! *tr

While driving to work at about 6:45 am i heard a loud noise like an explosion and heard glass cracking and looked at sunroof. It had exploded and burst into pieces. I closed the sunshield to protect myself and pulled to the side of the road. I called 911 and a ga state patrol came and inspected the incident and stated it looked like a manufacturers defect with no sign of anything impacting the car. He wrote an incident report and i had to drive onto work. Nissan is looking at my car later to diagnose the problem and i hope they do things right so i don't have to fight to get this resolved. *tr

Shifter assembly binding. Of course it is not under warranty. Dealership will not investigate why it is binding. They just want to replace it for $637.00. It had only 56,000 miles when i drove it into the service department for the diagnosis. I purchased an extended warranty because i bought the car when it had 46,000 plus miles. It is a 2012 make. Consumer writes in regards to inadequate cabin heat in winter. *smd the consumer stated he noticed this past winter, the vehicle did not heat up to normal operating temperatures on a timely basis when the outside temperature was roughly 15 degrees or colder. Instead, the coolant temperature gauge moved about 1/3 of the way and just stayed there for an extended period of 20 minutes or more. As a result, the heater put out only minimally warm air. Eventually, the vehicle fully warmed up and the heat output was normal. The dealer was aware there was a problem, but was unable to correct it, and they had not received any technical advice or assistance from nissan. *jb nissan informed the consumer, the condition was identified in other sentra's, but that was how the engine was designed, and it would not be changed. I recently purchased a 2012 nissan sentra. I immediately noticed the vehicle drifting to the left. As part of a will owe from the dealership i asked for this to be repaired. First alignment. After the alignment was done i was informed the "specs" were fine and the technician mentioned this could also be road crown or torque pull which is normal for front wheel drive vehicles. ?? I asked for a second look, this time the service manager went with me for the test drive and noticed the drifting and kept the vehicle. They did another alignment (2nd) specs ok and replace the oem tires with a knock- off set.The vehicle is still drifting. I informed nissan at this point to see if they can step in. They recommended taking it to another dealership. I brought the vehicle to a local dealership, third alignment. Specs ok . I continued my complaint with the nissan rep. And they had a engineer come out to look at the vehicle. Fourth alignment. His opinion is: this is a characteristic of sentra models and stated no adjustments, no abnormalities and it drives this way because this is a different type of steering column. Wow i would think nissan would be more concerned about a dangerous driving "characteristic" on one of their vehicles. This process has taken two and half months, four alignments, three separate opinions of the drifting issue and other than a replacement of a set of knock-off tires the problem still exist.. This is a dangerous issue that nissan is not willing to fix. I have seen on carcompaints.Com that this is not an isolated issue there are quite a few complaints about this same drifting on the same vehicle so that proves the engineer right but nissan is still not willing correct the problem. Sad and dangerous attitude to have. I am confident this will end up on a recall. For now i'm stuck with a dangerous vehicle that i wouldn't want anyone else to drive. *tr

Summer 2013 ,while driving on the freeway at 60 mph, some tire debris off an 18 wheeler truck tire was on my lane,, to avoid hitting it and or the vehicles next to me i looked into my rear view mirror to check for cars behind me and made a sudden slow down, but not a complete stop,,i pressed the gas pedal to go around the debris and the engine revved up, but the car did not move. It took the cvt transmission several seconds to catch up to the engine, before the car started to move again..I told a service manager at ipoc nissan dealer in san antonio about this and he seemed to brush it aside, stating those things happens with cvt's. What the dealer did find was an engine oil leak between the transmission and engine, you can't really see the oil leak, but the fact that dust collects around it indicated and the rest of the underside is cleaner. The dealer had to remove the transmission, parts connected to it,,front axle etc..The flywheel to replace a defective rear engine main oil seal. This was at about 7000 miles into this new nissan sentra. Also i have made countless complaints to nissan and it's dealer of the horrible knocking from the engine (2.0) on start ups. And somewhat gets quieter after warm-up, but is still present at about 2000 rpm and up.. Nissan has time after time refuses to accept that they have a mechanical product defect, instead they claim the knocking is coming from their fuel injectors, to the abs brakes systems,,to the trunk lid..These are the excuses they have told me. I would not like to pass on these problems to some other person if i get rid of this new car,,what i would like nissan to do is make good on their product, their advertising on tv, radio, and other media is deceiving and nissan is trying to avoid having to fix their problems. The problem with the stop and go on the cvt happened again and i reported it to the dealer . *jb

I was driving my nissan sentra over i-25 and suddenly moon roof exploded. I heard a gunshot and glasses flying.This is a serious safety issue and nissan must issue recall or replacement for all affected vehicles. It sounds like vehicle manufacturing defect. At about 1130 pm on my way home from work, approaching a intersection, i depressed the brake pedal and car seemed to increase speed and went through intersection through lawn and striking another car, total lose of control, no brakes, a real scary feeling. *tr

The airbags did not deploy when my husband wrecked the 2012 nissan sentra 6-24-13. My husband swerved to miss a deer that was in the road, hit a culvert, got air born, took out a reflector sign, and crashed into the ground. The car had +$7,000 worth of damages and the airbag did not deploy. I think there is a manufacturing issue. It got air born and hit a culvert. I think an airbag should have deployed. *tr

Bought vehicle new, and its less than a year old now - the trunk latch breaks repeatedly leaving the trunk unable to be closed or locked. Its been serviced 3 times, with new parts issued and tested and 'fixed' each time, and same issues repeats itself. The second time it happened i counted 9 uses before the issue repeated, this most recent occurrence was about 2 weeks after new parts issued: it was used 3 times. It renders the latch by the drivers seat, the key latch and the vehicles trunk latch all useless. Has to be a recall issue. *tr

I have a 2012 nissan sentra and the curtain air bags and seat air bags deployed when the driver's door of the vehicle was slammed. The car was not in motion but the key was in the ignition. Took it to a dealer and was told that they do not think this would be covered by warranty to contact my insurance company. The vehicle was involved in a rear accident 3 months prior but no air bags deployed only the trunk was smashed in. I was also told that the repairs to the trunk could have caused a malfunction. The car was only examined at the dealership i was told that nissan corporate office was involved but never was called nor has the car been inspected by a professional. This too me is very unsafe and inconsiderate of nissan to ignore this matter. What if the car was in motion what type of accident or injury this would have caused. I feel they should have at least inspected the car by a professional to make sure this was not a sensor issue and to confirm that it not their fault. *tr

I only get 22 miles per gallon, car was estimated at 27, city mpg and 34 highway, i notified the dealer and they claim that there is nothing wrong with the car , the 22 mpg are combine city and highway. Where could i get help on this problem. *tr

I purchased my sentra new in march 2012. At that time, my gas mileage was normal, and as advertised. Within the year, i went from 30mpg average to 27. Every year since then, it has gradually gotten worse, and i am now down to 23mpg, regardless of the type or grade of gas i use. It's actually worse with premium gas. I have done all maintenance on the car on time, regular oil changes, etc. I've complained to the dealership multiple times, and they claim to find no problems with it.

Vehicle was pulling out of a driveway at night, just beginning to accelerate, and struck a trailer that was not clearly noticeable (did not have clear reflectors). At 5 mph, the hood was crunched like an accordion, the airbags deployed, and the car is considered totaled. What would the consequences have been if striking something at 30, 40, or 50 mph? *tr

I took receipt of my new car on 9/22/12. On 9/23/12, i noticed a problem w/ the auto dimming mirror & the sun visor & emailed my sales person. I shared the auto dimming mirror & the sun visor are both long - i cannot use them at the same time. If i try to use the sun visor, it pushes the mirror so i cannot use it. I drive into the sun going to work & coming home from work and need to be able to block the sun & see out of my rear view mirror. The sales person told me to wait until i came in for my 1,000 mile service appt. I then emailed the manufacturer & shared the same thing. I asked if they had either 1) a shorter visor that blocks the sun but does not bump into the auto dimming mirror, or 2) a shorter mirror. I told them when my appt was with the dealership, hoping to get it resolved at the appt. They also told me to wait until my appt. I went to my appt on 10/20/12. The service advisor showed no concern & said there was nothing that could be done. He then snidely asked if i used my "side mirrors" when i drive. I shared what happened with my sales person along with again expressing my concern about the design flaw & safety issue-one should be able to use the sun visor without it prohibiting the use of the rear view mirror. The dealership never responded to my email. The manufacturer person contacted me 10/29/12 & said there is no resolution to my problem. She offered a $250 credit for my troubles. I declined the credit because i said the car still has a safety issue. I asked if i purchase a smaller mirror from the auto parts store if they would install it. The person said "no" because it is after market. I asked if i had it installed myself would it void my new car warranty & was told it probably would. I should not have to choose between blocking the sun or seeing out of my rear view mirror. This is dangerous- especially in heavy traffic. *tr

The oil pressure sensor gasket faulty on the 2012 models, have had it repaired 3 times, leaks oil on top of engine, the last time lost almost all of oil. It is also something that when it first happens is not necessarily noticed by the consumer until an oil change, but the problem so far has occurred 3x and each time has gotten worse. *tr

I just purchased a brand new off the lot 2012 nissan sentra immediatly called the dealership upon leaving told them the alignment was off they said to bring it in and they would realign the car, in the meantime when i apply the brakes the car wants to keep going and throughs itself into another gear where it would lung forward, which means i am having to press on the brakes harder in order not to be thrown into traffic. I took the car in and at first they could not duplicat the problem then all of a sudden it is the transmission that needs to be repalced why is it a brand new car needs a new transmission??? Now they are telling me that they will extend the warranty for me really! Wow why should the warranty be extended when i have a brand new car i keep asking for a new sentra just switch it out make life easy on us all.

Seat belt chime on vehicle does not work as advertised in owner's manual. Chime is supposed to function/sound to let driver know seat belt is unfastened but does not work. Nissan say the chime is unimportant and it is no longer a feature even though it is advertised in the owner's manual to work. I consider it an important safety feature to ensure my kids buckle up and expect it to work as advertised. I was told by the nissan service tech's and sales person that it can be reprogrammed but nissan are not willing to do this. I feel this feature should work as it is advertised as working and it's an important safety feature to ensure driver's fasten their seat belt. Nissan have also refused to respond through email with an explanation to my inquiry through their website. Other nissan models have this feature working. *tr

The car while trying to make a soft stop suddenly comes to an abrupt stop. While releasing the brake the car suddenly stops hard and causes the car to lurches forward. The system of the car seems to want to stop the car hard on systems own decision.
