  Prevost car (us) inc. (prevost) is recalling certain 2010 h3-45 vip, 2024 h3-45 and x3-45 vehicles. The coolant heaters may generate excessive exhaust gas and overheat.
  vehicle owners are advised not to operate the heaters until they have been repaired. Prevost will inspect the coolant heaters, replace the damaged components, and clean the heater's internal components, as necessary. In addition, prevost will adjust the air to fuel ratio. (prevost) is recalling certain 2010-2018 h3-41, h3-45, h3-45 vip, x3-45, x3-45 commuter, x3-45 vip, and x3-45 vip entertainer vehicles, equipped with certain kidde plastic-handle or push button 'pindicator' fire extinguishers. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. • Recall 96577 [USA]: In the event of a crash, the incorrect label may result in difficulty opening the emergency windows. this could increase the risk of personal injury.
  Prevost is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 x3-45 vip, 2006-2013 h3-45 vip, and 2006-2011 xlii-45 coach buses equipped with window part numbers: 790612, 790613, and 790614. These vehicles were manufactured between october 31, 2003, through april 10, 2013. On the vehicles involved, the decals explaining how to open the emergency windows does not contain a step required to open the window in case of an emergency. Specifically, the latch must be held down while the window is pushed outward to release the window; this is not stated on the decal.

• Recall 68901 [USA]: The user of the lift could be injured should the lift move without the restraint belt properly buckled.
  Prevost has notified nhtsa of a defect in certain model year 2008-2010 motor coaches fitted with ricon public use lifts. The restraint belt on these lifts was designed to prevent the lift from moving, unless the tongue of the belt is fully engaged and latched in the buckle. Ricon has discovered, however, that it is possible for the operator to insert the belt tongue into the buckle without fully engaging the latching mechanism. In this case, the restraint belt would appear to be latched, and the operator could run the lift. If the restraint belt tongue is not fully engaged into the restraint belt buckle, and latched, the lift may operate with an occupant on the platform.

  On certain vehicles equipped with a ricon f9 series cassette wheelchair lift, an improperly manufactured switch in the wheelchair lift restraint buckle may allow operation of the lift with the safety belt not fully latched. If the belt is not properly fastened, a wheelchair may not be adequately protected against unwanted movement, resulting a fall risk, potentially causing serious injury or death. Correction: the manufacturer will provide instructional information and warning decals.

• Recall 2015088 [Canada]: Fuel supply
  On certain buses, a fuel line retaining clip may be missing, which can result in the fuel line rubbing against a braided coolant hose. If there was contact, the fuel line may be compromised over time, which can result in spraying fuel onto hot exhaust components potentially resulting in an engine fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will inspect and replace the fuel line, as necessary, and ensure that the fuel and coolant lines are properly secured.

• Alternator front bearing failure investigation # PE21011

  Nhtsas office of defects investigation (odi) opened a preliminary evaluation after reviewing field reports concerning alternator front bearing failures that cause elevated temperatures within the engine compartment, resulting in the fire suppression system (fss) activating, immediately shutting the engine down, and rendering the bus inoperable.Analysis of the data provided by prevost car (us) inc. Showed high failure frequency and thermal events. An immediate shutdown of the bus can increase the risk of a crash or injury of bus occupants. In response to this investigation, prevost car (us) inc. And volvo bus corporation decided to conduct recalls 22v-221 and 22v-222. By submitting part 573 defect information reports on april 6, 2022, prevost car (us) inc. And volvo bus corporation notified odi of a safety defect in certain model year (my) 2010-2023 prevost h3-45; x3-45; x3-45 com; h3-45 vip: x3-45 vip and 2020 volvo 9700 vehicles; some of these buses may have experienced thermal events after failure of the alternator front bearing, because the alternator belt continues to turn the alternator after the bearing failure.These recall actions address the safety concern that led to the opening of this investigation.Therefore, with these recall actions, this investigation is closed. The recalls encompass all model and my vehicles addressed by the investigation. However, the closing of this investigation does not constitute a finding by nhtsa that a safety-related defect does not exist in other model or my vehicles outside of the recall scope. The agency reserves the right to take further action if warranted by the circumstances.
