• Recall 37139 [USA]: If the level of fuel is above the fdm, jpm, or cv apertures, fuel may leak out of the tank. a fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire.
  Some passenger vehicles may have fuel tanks in which the fuel delivery module (fdm), jet pump module (jpm, and/or cluster valve (cv) seals are not properly retained in the fuel tank. This may result in illumination of the malfunction indicator lamp (mil), or a fuel odor.
  dealers will replace the fuel tanks free of charge. The recall began on october 31, 2006. Owners may contact jaguar at 1-800-452-4827.

• Recall R/2007/045 [UK]: Diesel particulate filter excessive heat
  The diesel particulate filters (dpf) of the 2.7 litre engine may exhibit smoke and or fire from the underside of the vehicle flames emanating from within the rear exhaust tailpipe or an orange glow from the underside of the vehicle. Heat from within the dpf can radiate to the surrounding vehicle components and may lead to heating of the underside of the transmission tunnel and subsequent melting of interior components with the potential for an interior fire.
  recalled vehicles will have the engine management control module re-programmed with the latest calibration file. The vehicle will self test for dpf blockage which where required will be replaced.

• Recall 2006224 [Canada]: Fuel supply
  On certain vehicles, the fuel delivery module (fdm), jet pump module (jpm) and/or cluster valve (cv) seals are not properly retained in the fuel tank. This may result in illumination of the malfunction indicator lamp (mil) or a fuel odour. If the amount of fuel is above the fdm, jpm or cv apertures, fuel may be discharged onto the ground. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source may result in a fire. Correction: dealers will replace the fuel tank.

• Fuel tank leakage investigation # PE06030

  The office of defects investigation (odi) opened pe06-030 based on three complaints alleging large quantities of gasoline leakage from the fuel tanks (not from the filler pipes) of model year (my) 2006 jaguar xj vehicles. On september 11, 2006, ford motor company submitted a defect notice (part 573) to nhtsa describing a defect condition that could result in leakage from one or more of three sealed apertures on the upper surface of the fuel tank assemblies in approximately 6,199 my 2006-2007 jaguar xj vehicles built at the browns lane and castle bromwich (uk) assembly plants and sold in the united states and federalized territories. According to ford, ¿some of the affected vehicles may contain a fuel tank that was not made to specification. This may result in illumination of the malfunction indicator lamp (mil), a fuel odor, or fuel leaking from fuel delivery module (fdm), jet pump module (jpm) and/or cluster valve (cv) seals. Fuel leakage is most likely to occur only after a fuel tank has been fully filled with fuel.¿ fords data showed a total of 52 complaints relating to the defect condition, consisting of 9 customer complaints, 27 dealer field reports of fuel leaks, 15 technical hotline service reports and 1 field service engineer report of a visit to a car dealership for the fuel tank leak condition.In addition, fords warranty data showed 265 claims ¿where leaks and fuel odor were reported, of which 156 [warranty] claims included customer complaints of [gasoline] liquid leaks.¿this preliminary evaluation has been closed, as jaguar is recalling the affected vehicles to replace the fuel tanks (recall 06v-358).

Serious safety issue with the epb electronic parking brake not disengaging (especially in the xj models), therefore, deeming it impossible to drive the car, and being stranded with no way to drive home or anywhere in an emergency. This issue appears to be electrical in nature, involving the parking brake module. This issue is a published issue in countless jaguar forums and the nhtsa. Driving down the interstate and the sunroof just shattered. I see that this has been a problem in the past but jaguar say it wasn't a issue for my car. Nothing hit the sunroof. I remember driving over a particular segment in the interstate that has a dip and then it shattered. *tr

Tl* the contact own a 2007 jaguar xj8. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 mph, the engine warning indicator illuminated with an immediate reduction in the engine power. The vehicle unexpectedly stalled and was coasted to the side of the road. The vehicle restarted a few moments later and resumed normally. The failure occurred intermittently. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer four times. The technician was unable to locate the malfunction. The failure continued to occur. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 38,000.
