• Recall 206746 [USA]: A damaged or missing bushing may prevent the vehicle from shifting into the intended gear, and cause the vehicle to move in an unexpected direction. additionally, the vehicle may roll after the driver selects the 'park' position. either scenario increases the risk of a crash or injury.
  Ford motor company (ford) is recalling certain 2013-2019 escape, 2013-2018 c-max, 2013-2016 fusion, 2013-2021 transit connect, and 2015-2018 edge vehicles. The bushing that attaches the shifter cable to the transmission may degrade or detach.
  dealers will replace the under hood shift bushing and add a protective cap over the shift cable bushing, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters, informing owners of the safety risk, were mailed july 1, 2022. Remedy parts are expected to be available in 4th quarter 2022. Owner notification letters were mailed october 27, 2022. Owners may contact ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 22s43.

• Recall 124894 [USA]: Improperly welded apron joints may reduce the front-end structural integrity of the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash.
  Ford motor company (ford) is recalling certain 2016 focus and c-max vehicles. The floor pan may have improperly welded left-hand apron joints.
  ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the apron joints, repairing the vehicle, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began march 8, 2017. Owners may contact ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332. Ford's number for this recall is 17s03.

• Recall R/2018/082 [UK]: Clutch pressure plate may fracture
  Affected vehicles fitted with a 1.0 1.5 or 1.6 ecoboost engine and 6-speed manual transmission could suffer clutch pressure plate fracture. This results in clutch smell reduced vehicle speed and performance. In the unlikely event of clutch pressure plate fracture a noise (thud / bang) could be heard from the vicinity of the transmission in extreme cases resulting in clutch / transmission fragments being released and striking under hood components creating a risk of smoke and fire from the under hood area.
  to prevent the repeated heating /cooling events a new calibration has been developed for vehicles fitted with engine stop start feature. The software with the additional feature sets the instrument panel ?Wrench light? And de-rates the engine performance if prolonged clutch slip is detected. The software feature includes a drive cycle strategy for latching the wrench light and engine performance de-rate if the customer should experience repeated clutch slip events. For vehicles that do not have engine stop start feature an alternative clutch kit has been released.

• Recall 2022311 [Canada]: Powertrain
  Issue: on certain vehicles, the shift cable may detach from the transmission. This could cause the transmission not to shift gears when the shifter is moved. As a result, the transmission could be in a different gear than the gear shifter indicates. If a driver attempts to exit the vehicle while the transmission is not in park, and the parking brake is not applied, the vehicle could move suddenly. Safety risk: sudden and unexpected movement of the vehicle could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective actions: ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the transmission shifter cable bushing and install a protective service cap. Ford advises that you should apply the parking brake each time the vehicle is parked.

• Pedestrian alert sounds investigation # DP22005

  Nhtsa received a petition on or about july 18, 2022, requesting that federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) 141 be applied to all electric and hybrid vehicles operating in the united states. The petition can be reviewed at nhtsa.Gov under odi number 11486072.Fmvss 141 establishes performance requirements for pedestrian alert sounds for motor vehicles. The standard applies to hybrid and electric vehicles that have a gross vehicle weight rating of 4,536 kg or less or are defined as low-speed vehicles. The standard became fully applicable to all such vehicles manufactured on or after march 1, 2021.The petitioner asserts that hybrid and electric vehicles to which the standard does not apply should be found to contain a safety defect. In support of the petition, the petitioner includes findings contained in a bill introduced in the house of representatives in 2009, the pedestrian safety enhancement act of 2009, h.R. 734, 111th cong. (2009). A related bill, the pedestrian safety enhancement act of 2010, became law in january 2011 (pub. L. 111-373). The petitioner requests that nhtsa require all electric and hybrid vehicles comply with fmvss 141, regardless of production date.The defect petition has been opened to evaluate the issue and determine whether to grant or deny the petition.The associated product list is not exhaustive and may contain vehicles that are equipped with pedestrian alert sounds.

Component failure the abs system failed with only 14,500 miles on the odometer. Symptom the brake pedal became soft, allowing more brake pedal travel than normal. Taken to ford dealer symptom described to service representative and was told after several hrs that the brakes were normal. I told them that the brake pedal was always taut and the current behavior could become a danger to others and myself. It's after i provided my own obd11 scan report ( using a bluedriver scan tool ) that indicated there is an anti-lock brake module code failure that convinced them and was told to leave the vehicle overnight. Dealer confirmed, that there is a definite problem and that it could be the brake master cylinder and brake booster. There were no warning lamps indication or lights except for the brake pedal losing pressure. The brakes did function, but the pedal almost when to the floor. Currently my ford cmax sel hybrid has been sitting in their service center for 7 days just waiting for ford warranty service approval and was just notified that it was okayed and i would have to wait for parts to be ordered.

The contact owns a 2016 ford c-max. The contact stated that the mobile charger failed and the vehicle was unable to be charged. The contact stated that several different outlets were tried however, the failure persisted. The local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 51,000.

Rear tires repeatedly wearing out. This could cause a blowout causing harm to myself and others

Several times now the vehicle has completely shut off while driving. At first, it was driving uphill on the freeway and when it hit a small bump it would shut off. I figured it was just at high speeds that this occurred. Recently, it was just driving up a driveway incline at 5 mph, and going over a small speed bump triggered it to shut off. I have taken the vehicle in to have service fix it and they can't duplicate the issue. It is very dangerous to be driving 65mph on the freeway and the car just shuts off. It does not go into a safe mode, just completely shuts down. In order to continue driving, you must press the push-button start and let the car sit for a few minutes. After you wait, push the button again and it will allow you to continue driving as normal. I believe it is a wiring issue but multiple service locations have not been able to locate it. I have paid hundreds in labor attempting to fix it. Very dangerous!

I would like you to included my vehicle in the recall as well. The camera shows a dark screen and then a message appears saying it is not available. I'm attaching the most recent incident which was 10/08/2020 & happened again numerous times. I just don't want to be stuck paying for this "repair". Thank you kindly, barbara d. Johnson

The passenger-side bottom corner of the windshield has become unglued. A glass repair shop informed us that the front passenger air bad deploys off of the windshield. In the event of an accident, the passenger side front air bag may not function properly, resulting in increased risk of injury to the front seat passenger. We noticed the right bottom corner of the windshield lifting up when we were cleaning the windshield from the inside. The vehicle is being taken to ford for a diagnostic evaluation, but all warranties have expired.
