Complaint Information: Recalls, Service Bulletins, OBD II Codes

NHTSA Mandated Recalls
  • Recall 106749 [USA]: If the air bag control unit fails, the air bags may not deploy in the event of a crash, increasing the risk of occupant injury.
Volkswagen group of america, inc. (vw) is recalling certain model year 2008-2009 audi a4, a5, and q5 vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the air bag control units may corrode and fail.
audi will notify owners, and dealers will replace the air bag control unit, free of charge. The recall began october 2016. Owners may contact audi customer service at 1-800-253-2834. Volkswagen's number for this recall is 69o1.
owners may also contact the national highway traffic safety administration vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (tty 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.Safercar.Gov.

  • Recall R/2009/150 [UK]: Interior trim may become detached causing injury
It is possible in the event of an accident where the airbags are deployed for the a pillar trim to loosen. It is then possible for the trim to move into the passenger compartment which would increase the risk of injury to the front passengers.
recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to replace the centre retaining clip on each of the a pillar trims.

  • Recall 2018635 [Canada]: Fuel supply
Certain vehicles with a cracked (but not leaking) fuel pump flange were repaired with butyl tape only under a previous recall (please see transport canada recall 2016-443 / audi campaign 20w9). This is because replacement fuel pump flanges were not available at the time of repair (the butyl tape was used an interim repair). If the fuel pump flange is not replaced, a fuel leak could still occur. A fuel leak, in the presence of an ignition source, could lead to a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will replace fuel pump flange and reapply the protective butyl tape.

To ensure accuracy and for your safety, it is recommended to do a free VIN recall check here or here [USA] - UK - Canada.
