• Recall 85295 [USA]: A broken steering knuckle could result in loss of steering control and a possible crash without warning.
  Dorman is recalling 979 steering knuckles, dorman p/nos. 697-902 and 697-903, sold under dorman's "oe solutions^tm" brand name, and napa p/nos. 7-8502 and 7-8503 which were sold for replacement use on the various vehicles listed above. A potential material or design defect could result in the steering knuckle breaking in the hub area.

• Recall 79601 [USA]: Without the amber side reflex reflectors, the lighting visibility may be affected, possibly resulting in a vehicle crash.
  K2 motor is recalling 1,921 aftermarket headlamps of various models sold for use on the above listed vehicles. These headlamps are missing the amber side reflex reflector which fails to conform with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment."

• Recall 41468 [USA]: If a passenger uses the interior handle to open the power sliding door and holds onto the handle while it is being opened by the motor, the passenger's arm may be pushed into the seat back or armrest and a wrist or lower arm injury may result.
  On certain minivans equipped with second-row bucket seats or captain's chairs and a power sliding door on the passenger side of the vehicle, a passenger using the interior handle to open the power sliding door could be injured.
  dealers will replace the power sliding door interior handle on the passenger-side. If the vehicle is equipped with a power or manual sliding door on the driver-side, the interior handle will also be replaced for appearance reasons. Note: before the vehicle is serviced, gm advises owners to not use the interior door handle to open the door. The driver can open and close the door from switches at the driver's position or by using the remote key fob. The driver should tell passengers to use the switch located in front of the door to open or close it. The driver should use the override switch to prevent operation of the power door by children or by others who are not familiar with its use. The owner notification letter mailing will be conducted in phases with the first phase beginning on may 31, 2005. The second phase mailing began on july 18, 2005. The recall began on may 31, 2005. Phase 2 began on july 18, 2005. Phase 3 (final phase) began on august 24, 2005, to all remaining customers.   Vehicle description: mini vans with extended wheelbase. Some of these vehicles have inoperative fuel tank rollover valves and fuel leakage would exceed the permissible amount in a rollover test. This does not comply with the requirements of fmvss no. 301, "fuel system integrity."

  On certain vehicles equipped with second-row bucket seats or captain's chairs and power sliding door on the passenger side, if a passenger uses the interior handle to open the power sliding door and holds onto the handle while it is being opened by the motor, the passenger's arm may be pushed into the seat back or armrest and a wrist or lower arm injury may result. Correction: dealers will replace the original interior power sliding door handle. The original handles are offset from the door panel and a passenger can wrap his or her fingers around them. The replacement door handles are essentially flush with the door trim, preventing a passenger from gripping them in the same fashion.

• Power-sliding door investigation # PE04064

  Subject vehicles are available with an optional power sliding door.The interior handle is oriented in the vertical position in the door panel and lines up at the elbow level when the occupant is seated in the 2nd-row outboard position.If the occupant holds the interior handle in the thumb up position during power-assisted opening, the arm/wrist can be push back with force against the 2nd-row bucket seat or captains chair seat back creating a risk of injury (other seating configurations have ample seat to door clearance to avoid entrapment of the lower arm).Among the 103 total reports, there were 102 alleged injuries including arm/wrist, thumb and shoulder injuries.A count of injuries reveals that 76 injuries were a fractured or a broken arm/wrist requiring an immobilizing cast for four-to-six weeks.All injuries involve the right side power sliding door.The left side power sliding door is on far fewer vehicles, but more importantly, it produces less force.Gm notified the agency by letter dated december 21, 2004, that it will recall model year 1997 though early 2005 gm u-van vehicles equipped with a right side power sliding door and with 2nd-row bucket seats or captain chairs (nhtsa recall #04v597).As part of the recall remedy, gm will replace the door handle with a "flush mounted handle" that will prevent an occupant from grasping the handle with the palm between the handle and door panel (thumb up orientation) and thus eliminate the potential for arm/wrist entrapment.This investigation is closed.

Air bag light will not turn off, there is no way to fix it as they don't make the parts anymore, not sure if airbag will deploy if ever needed.

Was driving forward coming up to an intersection and approaching a red light when the brakes went out .When trying to stop and push the brake down it started shaking and the brake came up and then when pushed it back down it went to the floor and the brakes were completely out. Them going out caused us to roll through the intersection causing us to get hit by a vehicle coming through the light, spinning us around and got hit more than once. Hit us on both sides of vehicle and windows were shattered out but not one air bag went off/deployed at all and the vehicle was totalled.There were 3 babies in the vehicle when the air bags did not deploy.

Bought 4 new goodyear viva 2 tires at walmart in approximately 2014 sometime. According to local tire shop they have 2014 date codes. Van started developing a low speed wobble when driving. Front l tire was low on pressure so took to a loca shop to have it checked thinking i just needed a patch. Wrong! The shop discovered a tread separation on the inside sidewall! Luckily i was not driving on the highway. After coming here and reading all the other almost identical complaints to me it looks like there is a trend of bulging/poor ride quality/blowouts and tread separation from these walmart goodyears. Luckily i only made a 2 mile round trip from home to a friends and i was able to catch this before i had a blowout.

Tl* the contact owns a 2000 chevrolet venture. The contact stated that while driving approximately 35 mph, the seat belt warning light illuminated continuously. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that the vin was not included in recall nhtsa campaign id number: 00v228003 (seat belt). The approximate failure mileage was 186,000.

Please investigate incidents of failure of the gm passkey/passlock/vats security system. Security light would flash and vehicle experienced a total loss of power. Problem occurred intermittently for the next several months, at various speeds. No accidents involved, but several near misses. Problem occurred very frequently in the past week, and now vehicle will not start due to security feature. I am using factory original keys, not replacements. Problem affects this particular make and model, but it is so systemic to gm, an entire aftermarket industry has arisen to bypass this security "feature." *tr

I was sitting in traffic at a dead stop,then when the traffic light changed to green i put my foot on the gas pedal. As soon as i did the accelerator pedal stuck,went all the way to the floor and caused me to hit the vehicle in front of me. Also my gas gauge didn't work and would randomly move back and forth,even if i had a full tank of gas. Then,the driver side brake light continued to go out due to the melting of the part of the bulb,not the bulb itself. My electric sliding door on passenger side came off the track due to the cord and pulley/motor in the door. I could never get the door to work other than by manually opening and closing the door after that. *tr

The contact mentioned that the fire originated in the engine compartment and caused a garage located next to the vehicle to catch fire. The fire department extinguished the fire. There were no injuries. The vehicle was destroyed. The failure mileage was 115,000.
