Bulletin No.: Service Bulletin Date: 22-NA-009 March, 2023 INFORMATION Subject: Information on New Torque Specification and Installation Procedure for ACDelco Spin-On Oil Filters Brand: Model: All Passenger Cars and Trucks Model Year: VIN: from to from to 2000 2024 — — Engine: Transmission: All — Involved Region or Country North America, Europe, Uzbekistan, Russia, Middle East, Iraq, Israel, Palestine, Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela, Japan, Cadillac Korea (South Korea), GM Korea Company, China, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Philippines, Australia/New Zealand, Egypt, Other Africa, South Africa Condition Some customers or dealers may comment on an oil leak coming from underneath the front of the vehicle after a prior oil service was performed. This leak can take several thousand miles to occur. Cause This may be caused by an oil leak coming from between the oil filter gasket and mounting surface. – Technicians may also notice that the filter is very easy to remove and can sometimes be removed by hand. To correct this condition, engineering has released a revised installation specification for all Spin-on oil filters. The new specification will be as follows: 1. Lubricate the NEW oil filter gasket with clean engine oil. 2. Install Oil Filter 1 full turn after gasket makes contact with the sealing surface on the filter mounting flange. If installing with a torque wrench, this should be approximately 10 Y of torque. This installation specification will be updated in Service Information (SI) and the label on the oil filters (example shown below) will be updated as well.
