• Recall 89044 [USA]: A fracture may allow fuel vapors to pass through and allow droplets of fuel to accumulate on the side of the fuel tank. fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire.
  On certain vehicles, variations in the manufacturing process or exposure to high ambient temperatures may lead to fracture of the fuel tank inlet check valve (icv).
  dealers will replace the fuel tank. The recall will be mailed in two phases with the first phase beginning on december 4, 2007. The second phase will be mailed on december 13, 2007. Owners may contact buick at 1-866-608-8080; chevrolet at 1-800-630-2438; or pontiac at 1-800-620-7668. The vehicle population includes buick rendezvous and pontiac aztek vehicle built in may 2003; chevrolet venture and pontiac montana vehicles built from june through august 2002; and all vehicles registered in nevada, arizona, virgin islands, puerto rico, and hawaii.

  Certain delphi fuel pressure regulators, p/nos. FP10020-11b1, fP10026-11b1, and fP10027-11b1, sold after january 9, 2007, as aftermarket equipment for various passenger vehicles listed above. The universal pressure regulators (upr) were produced without an o'ring and retainer.
  delphi will notify owners and replace the upr free of charge. The recall began on april 23, 2007. Owners can contact delphi at 877-411-8770.

• Recall 35047 [USA]: If the liftgate were to open in a vehicle crash, an occupant could be ejected from the vehicle resulting in increased risk of personal injury.
  On certain sport utility vehicles, a structural support at the latch attachment in the rear liftgate may be inadequate to retain the latch to the liftgate in certain severe vehicle crash events.
  dealers will add structural reinforcements to the liftgate in the area adjoining the latch assembly. Owner notification schedule began on june 21, 2004. Owners should contact buick at 1-866-608-8080. This is an expansion to a previous recall (03v211).

• Recall 2006199 [Canada]: Suspension
  On certain aztek (awd), montana (awd), relay (awd), rendezvous (awd), rendezvous (fwd), silhouette (awd), terraza (awd), terraza (fwd), uplander (awd) and venture (awd) vehicles equipped with independent rear suspension, when operated in extreme cold temperature and on rough roads, water and salt can intrude past the ball joint seal. The combination of theses conditions may then lead to premature wear of the ball joint. If the ball joint wear progresses to the point of separation from the lower control arm, a loss of vehicle control may occur. Correction: dealers will replace both ball joints with new ball joints which have a revised boot and ball stud to improve the seal to the ball stud shaft.

  On certain vehicles, a weld between the fuel tank inlet valve and the fuel tank was not made to specification and can fail. If these parts separate, the driver may notice an odour of fuel, the service engine soon or check engine light may illuminate, and/or fuel may leak onto the ground. If a sufficient amount of fuel leaked and if an ignition source were present, a vehicle fire could occur. Correction: dealer will inspect the fuel tank and replace it if necessary.

My grandson and i were shopping, then i filled my gas tank. We then went into the grocery store came out, smelled gas and looked under car. It is leaking gas, we hurried home--went from full tank to 1/4 full tank in 58 miles. It is sitting and not driven. And i have a 2003 rendezvous that has a gas smell that is very strong but hasn't leaded out gas yet.

Tl* the contact owns a 2004 buick rendezvous. The contact stated that while refueling, gasoline leaked from the vehicle. The contact became aware that the gas tank was fractured while refueling the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was inspected and diagnosed and determined that the fuel tank was fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign number: 07v349000 (fuel system, gasoline) as a possible solution to the failure however, the vin was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the warranty was expired. The failure mileage was approximately 109,694.

I was driving my vehicle on the freeway going 70 miles per hour and all the sudden my vehicle had pretty much came to a complete stop and if i hadn't had my seatbelt on, i probably would have went through the windshield. *tr

My vehicle has been picking up speed for no reason. The vehicle was not taken to nor taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. Also, the fuel pump is not working. I can fill it up with gas and the light will still turn on. Maybe after driving for a couple miles or making a turn the light will turn off. *tr
