• Recall 86974 [USA]: Incorrect inflation of the side curtain air bag may increase the risk of injury to a vehicle occupant in the event of a crash requiring deployment of that air bag.
  Nissan is recalling model year 2008 nissan armada and infiniti qx56 vehicles manufactured from february 7, 2007 through february 14, 2007. These vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 201, "protection in interior impact." an out-of-specification a-pillar finisher might impede the correct inflation of the side curtain air bag near the upper portion of the b-pillar.

  Nissan is recalling certain front and rear lower links, p/nos. 54501zq00a, 54500zq00a, 551a1zq00a, 551a0zq00a , 54501ea00a, 54500ea00a, 551a1ea500, 551a0ea500, 54501zr00a, and 54500zr00a, sold between november 25, 2009 and may 14, 2010 as replacement parts for model year 2004 through 2010 titan, armada, and qx56, and model years 2005 through 2010 frontier, xterra, and pathfinder vehicles. The lower control link assembly has two cylindrical collars forming the inboard attachment points to the chassis. Due to an improper welding process some collars may contain welds that do not meet strength specifications.

  Nissan is recalling certain model year 2008-2010 titan, armada, and infiniti qx56, and model year 2008-2009 nissan quest vehicles. The brake pedal pivot pin end was not spin-formed to specification during the manufacturing process of the brake pedal assembly. The pivot pin could slide and cause the brake pedal to partially disengage from the brake pedal bracket.

  Certain vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of canada motor vehicle safety standard 210.1 - user-ready tether anchorages for restraint systems. Specifically, the pictograms identifying the location of the tether anchors measure 15 mm in height instead of 20 mm as required by the standard. Correction: since this non-compliance condition does not pose any safety risk, no corrective action is required.

• Recall 2010060 [Canada]: Fuel supply
  On certain vehicles, the material used on fuel level sending unit contacts can wear and contaminate the sender. This causes the instrument panel fuel gauge to display that the vehicle still has some fuel left in the tank when the fuel tank is empty. An inaccurate fuel gauge can lead to engine stalling while driving, which may increase the risk of a crash causing property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: letters will be sent to owners in two stages. The first letter will advise owners of fuel gauge inaccuracy and recommend maintaining a fuel level above the one half position. The second letter will follow, requesting owners bring their vehicles to a dealer for replacement of the fuel sender unit.

  On certain vehicles, the brake pedal pivot pin end was not properly manufactured. As a result, the pin may not remain in place, causing the brake pedal to partially disengage from the brake pedal bracket. If this occurs, the driver will experience unusual and noticeable looseness in the pedal and a reduction in braking force. A reduction in braking force may lead to increased stopping distances and the risk of a crash causing property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: owners of all potentially affected vehicles will be contacted and their brake pedal assembly will be inspected and replaced if necessary.

Constant moisture build up causing headlight burnout a dangerous situation didn't know until police pulled me over. Five times this incident has happened. Very expensive fix and extremely expensive replacement. Unfair to consumer auto shops says the company knows about it. A safety recall is needed.

I hear i ping sound like a spring, the break light comes on and i am unable to stop the vehicle as normal. Appears the vehicle is attempting to slow down but does not come to stop as it normally should. Once i turn the vehicle off then back on it's just fine until it randomly occurs again when applying the breaks and/or when the vehicle is idle and the break light comes on. This issue only resolved itself when the vehicle is turned off then back on. It is extremely alarming and could cause an accident.

The brakes on my vehicle has a strange reaction when i brake at times and is hesitant to stop. It doesn't happen often but it's scary. Usually after i stop the vehicle, cut it off & crank it again the problem goes away only to do it again on a later date. After going online i find that many others have experienced the same problem with infiniti qx56 & nissan armada's. I'm sure whether or not it's a abs sensor malfunction or what but thankfully it haven't happened while being in heavy traffic because i fear i'll rear end another motorist.

Center upper console behind driver came crashing down while vehicle was in motion. This is very large and stretches entire back of vehicle. Lucky my kids weren't back there.

Tl* the contact owns a 2008 infinti qx56. While driving various speeds, the abs warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle decelerated and stalled. When the vehicle was restarted, the vehicle was able to operate. The vehicle was taken to priority infiniti of greenbrier (1812 greenbrier pkwy, chesapeake, va 23320) to be diagnosed, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 132,000. The vin was not provided.

Headlamp assembly is cracked and condensation builds up, shorting out the igniter. Apparently my mechanic says that nissan and infiniti know of the problem 8 models for 6 years (or 6 models for 8 years) and have not issued a recall. But the price for the headlamp assemblies and ignitors are outrageous. The problem is so prevalent, there is a youtube video showing how to dry out the headlamp assembly and caulk it to reuse! This many problems and no recall seems very dangerous. It cost me $1000 to replace an ignitor. It would have cost $4,000 to replace two headlamp assemblies. Who has $4,000 to replace a couple of headlamps????? And how is this safe. It is illegal to drive with one headlight. The manufacturer should make sure this equipment is working properly!!!!!

Qx56 2008 had left me stranded cv several times i believe recently after adding gas saw my fuel go from 88miles of fuel to 27miles of fuel left i don't trust it wortied i will be stranded and now it has eracticly have no lights in the dash just slippery rd sim bv le and i shut it off only to end up with no power as if battery was dead after disconnecting battery now my fuel is always at empty after driving for 10minutes

Tl* the contact owns a 2008 infiniti qx56. While driving 45 mph, the console behind the sun roof fell and was only supported by the wires. The contact stated that the console's independent detachment from the vehicle was cause for concern and hindered the view of the rear window. The contact stated that the console was held together by hand while driving to prevent further damage and obstruction of view. Infiniti of gwinnette (3090 satellite blvd, duluth, georgia 30096) was made aware of the failure and diagnosed that the center console fractured and fell off of its hinges. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 108,900.

Brake light comes on while driving, when pressure is applied to brakes under 40mph there is a grinding noise and the brakes skip. You can turn the ignition off and back on and sometimes the brake light goes off and everything is fine and sometimes it is not. There seems to be no rhyme or reason. Some days it never comes on and some days it never goes off. After researching online it appears that it is an issue with the computer module and a software update is needed. Please fix this. The first time it happened it was very scary! I was driving with my 3 kids and thought that my brakes had went out completely. It was months before it happened again but now it seems to be an every day occurence.
