The brake pedal has suddenly become very unpredictable. Sometimes when depressing it they start engaging where they normally would & sometimes you have to depress it all the way to the floor to get it to stop. My daughter informed me of the problem so i drove it to pick up pizza. When parking at the pizza place it happened to me..... I jumped a sidewalk curb almost hit people walking on the other side because the brakes didn't engauge in time. My problem has not been confirmed by a dealer service center but the exact same problem is listed with the 2009 murano & has been recalled because of a reaction with a metal plating turning the brake fluid to a gelatin solution after 10 years. This 2009 murano recall was in 2019. My murano is 10 years old now. & has under 80,000 miles & had new brake pads put on 15,000 miles ago even though they didn't show much wear. I live in a rural area & the closest nissan dealer over 50 miles away so i can't just drop by a nissan dealership. No warning lights have come on with this vehicle as of yet. This murano is my 16 year old daughters & she is not very tall so she is not able to depress the brakes far enough to stop when this happens. I have had to park the murano until we get this problem resolved. Please respond with how i can resolve this braking problem. Thanks

For the second time my anti-lock brakes have gone out and the paddle for the break goes all the way to the floor. It barely stops and i'm afraid it's going to happen where it doesn't allow me time to stop. This should be a recall. From other complaints found on the internet many people are having the same problem.

Car started running rough, sluggish on going from still at stop to not wanting to go when acceleration should happen. Then abs light came on, followed by all the trouble lights on other side of panel. Car would only go about 5 mph. I turned car around and headed home, but it wasn't a smooth ride. I got up to about 45, but it still seemed sluggish and braking was stiff. This happened 2 years ago. Dealer said no recall for 2011, but previous and following years did have recall for this. About 2 weeks after we went to dealer and started a conversation with nissan corporate, the car stopped having the problem and was fine fir 2vyears until now.

1-the dashboard is cracking all over. Many cracks and also cracking by the rightt side dash airbag. My car is in the garage 98% of the time. We only drive this car once or twice a month. We are not the original owners we have this car for about 2 1/2 years and only put 1000 miles on it. The car has 109631 miles on it. The car is in mint condition inside and out. 2- the airbag light comes on and was diagnosed as the passenger front seat occupant sensor. On this model the sensor is built into the seat bottom. This means that you need to replace the whole seat bottom which the part alone runs about 2500.00.

The abs actuator has been under recall by nissan for certain models. After contacting nissan customer service they have determined due to the mileage of the vehicle this safety defect is not covered under the recall.

The cvt went bad in the vehicle and nissan never fixed what was reported in the past with 2012s people with 2013 to current are all still having cvt transmissions fail and nissan is not recalling or fixing the issue. Well driving on the freeway the vehicle started knocking and lost complete power and looked under the car and had oil seeping from it.

The sunroof exploded today while i was driving on the highway. It made a loud bang noise and shattered. It scared me. Thank goodness i had the cover closed so none of the glass came in the car. *tr

My murano driver side visor will not stay up and is very dangerous.My car is only 9 years old and i looked online and this is a known issue for several years for nissan, even for 3 year old cars and could cause a serious accident when it falls covering the drivers vision both front and rear view mirror! When the car finally decided to move it would surge. Also while idling stationary and shutting the car off, it failed to restart. Head lights started blinking, a clicking noise could be heard coming from engine. The car would have to be jumped off. Battery checked and is not the issue.

I pumped the brakes & applied the emergency brake to stop the car because there was traffic stopped in front of me. I took the car to my local mechanic & they installed a new master cylinder & bled the brake lines 3 different times. They had the car for 1 week & the car would not stop at slow speeds till the brake pedal was almost to the floor. The car is not safe to drive. It is similar to the: the power steering hose clamp may not adequately secure the hose, allowing the hose to detach and leak power steering fluid. Our vehicle has been in 2 accidents - one where we were struck in the rear left bumper and the other we were struck in the front left bumper. Speeds were about 20 mph. Neither resulted in the airbags being deployed. We have experienced many issues with the electrical system including failure of the radio/climate control screen, speaker volume changing without initiation and unable to be controlled, & rear speakers not functioning. These occurred at all times of vehicle operation.

Without warning brke pedal began to fade. No leaks, no warning lights noted. Dealer quotes parts at $1995 and labor of $400 plus to repair in conjunction with pads and turned rotors total $3,200. The mechanic says he has seen this issue in many nissan muranos and he speculates that the these models have a faulty abs sensor module which causes the brakes to lock up if used too hard. 2011 nissan murano, 85000 miles, all maintenance done on time. Driving down the road at low speeds started to hear a clunking noise. The next day i was driving down the hwy taking my car into the shop when it started jumping rpms and would not accelerate almost causing me to get killed while trying to pull of the road. After letting the car sit i was able to drive it at 30mph to the closest car dealership where it was diagnosed with a failing transmission. I still owe on the car and am beyond upset that after calling nissan they refuse to do anything . Now my car sits till i find a way to come up with the thousands of dollars i have to pay to get my car back on the road. Nissan should extend the warranty on the 2011 just like they did on the previous years.

My cvt transmission began to have a seal leak at 140,000 miles causing a loud squeal while the transmission fluid built up pressure. This car was well maintained. It's unfortunate that nissan doesn't provide replacement parts for their transmissions. It's a sealed unit so you have to replace the entire transmission for $3500 to $4800. Only got $2k on trade in for a new vehicle. I hope nissan recalls the transmission so others won't lose money on this costly repair.

Coincidentally we just paid off our vehicle a few months ago. Our 2011 nissan murano has 103, 000 miles. About a month ago my wife mentioned that the car was hesitating when pressing the gas pedal to proceed forward from a stopped position. ( this is definitely a safety hazard at intersections and any stopped positions to proceed forward). The engine would just cut out and then after a few seconds would pick back up in rpms. I thought it was a fuel filter problem so we sent it to our mechanic. He came back to us and said its the cvt transmission and it could cost anywhere from $3500 - $5000. Something we did not want hear with a vehicle with just a hundred thousand miles on it. After further research we see this has been a known issue with nissan cvt. I really need some assistance on how to go about contacting nissan to see if they will warrant this problem.

I have a 2011 nissan murano sl 2wd and am starting to have accelerating problems with the vehicle specially driving in stop and go traffic.The symptoms are when the vehicle warms up and am trying to accelerate it just refuses to move fir about 3-4 seconds the rpm will not increase and the vehicle will barely move and then all of a sudden it seems to engage and lurch forward.One time i almost got rear ended because of this issue while trying to merge into surface street traffic from a freeway exit .I had ample space between me another vehicle as i tried to merge into traffic but my vehicle was just crawling slowly forward by which time the other vehicle was almost on top of me honking and i was being cussed at and all for a sudden my vehicle decided to move and i had to swerve right on the side walk to prevent getting hit from behind.I talked to the dealer about the issue and they said the problem is the cvt transmission but there are no recalls on this year make and model but earlier models have a recall with same issues but i think it should be specially if the problem is intermittent and you just don't know when the vehicle will start acting up .I have replaced the accelerator pedal with sensor and cleaned the throttle body but that didn't help.

My vehicle's door lock will not unlock manually. If the auto locks stop working this shouldn't stop me from unlocking my vehicle manually. My original incident with this issue was with me in the vehicle. I was stuck in my truck. I had to climb over to the passenger side and get out that way. My second incident with this was all of my locks didn't work with the fob or with my key (mannually). Thankfully, i was not inside this time. I had to call roadside assistance. This is a real safety issue. During all of these incidents, my vehicle was stationary.

Intermittent problem while driving when depressing the brake pedal it will go all the way to the floor and produce very little braking ability. On several occasions evasive action had to be taken to avoid collision. Has occurred while driving in stop and go traffic as well as on a highway. The problem appears to correct its self after vehicle is parked for a period of time. No warning lights or service indicator lights/ codes present. This problem has occurred sporadically absent of any fore warning and presents the possibility of accidental collision. This same condition has been reported in the same model over several manufacture years and although indications are the the same abs control module has been found to be at issue only the 2009 year was issued a service recall.

The contact depressed the brake pedal, but the vehicle failed to stop. The contact had to swerve around the other vehicle to avoid a crash. While driving slowly, the contact quickly turned into a parking space and shifted the gear into park. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was later driven to the contact's residence. Four days later, the vehicle was taken to cardinale nissan (1661 del monte blvd, seaside, ca 93955, (831) 322-4115) to be test driven and the failure recurred. The technician informed the contact that the antilock brake and master cylinder failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 88,167.

While attempting to stop from an approximate 30 miles per hour speed, the brake petal travelled nearly all the way to the floor board. The vehicle did eventually slow to a stop but not until i nearly struck the car in front of me. After that, the problem was intermittent. I brought the car to my mechanic who checked the master cylinder and determined the the problem was a defective abs control module. I have seen recalls for defective abs on murano model years up to 2009 and then again after 2015. However, my 2011 model year falls in the "recall gap" and is not covered. Although abs problems for the 2011 murano are documented on multiple internet websites, nissan has not issued an additional recall covering the other model years such as mine. So the expensive repair costs and responsibility for accidents and injuries fall upon the unsuspecting owners of the defective vehicles. Nissan should immediately issue a recall and get the dangerous condition repaired before others find themselves without the ability to safely stop their cars.

While driving about 60 mph on the interstate i heard a loud sound like a gunshot. There weren't any cars in front of me and i didn't just go under an overpass. Upon inspection i discovered that my sunroof had exploded and no foreign objects were visible that may have caused it. Seems like this is a common problem and should be recalled.

As i was driving on the highway and tried using my brakes i continually had to depress my brake pedal all the way to the floor to get them to start working. Once i reached stop and go traffic on the highway i continued to have this problem where tapping or using the brake pedal as normal did not slow my car down and i had to keep pushing it to the floor in order to keep from running into the car in front of me. I brought this to my normal mechanic who drained brake fluid, checked pads, and tested all calipers which did not fix the problem. They felt it was the abs actuator that was the problem and recommended i go to a dealership. At the dealership i relayed this information and they began looking at the car. Their diagnosis is that the actuator allowed air in the brake line and that air kept my brakes from working. Seems like a common problem among nissan murano's.

Camshaft position 'a' - timing over - advanced or system performance (banks 1 & 2). Third time in as many months; two repairs made, third time required. Check engine light comes on regularly.

I noticed my nissan murano losing acceleration when taking off. When it finally catches up it rides fine. That is so dangerous especially living in the city with freeways and traffic! Also my air is not working. I took it to a dealer, air compressor was fine, they recharged the system with freon and it still didn't work. I need some kind of relay switch for $500. I feel like i'm paying for a lemon at 85,000 miles!

Cabriolet soft top , the top would not close . The car has 20k miles and i see on the internet a lots of people with the same issue. Dealer want to change the top for 11k$ and not fix the part that is the defect

All of a sudden while driving my 2011 nissan murano and after driving over a slight bump on a city street in my neighborhood going about 10 mph maybe a little more i was in the process slowing down and making a u turn right in front of my house so i could park in front of our house (thank god!) my brakes failed they went to the floor very suddenly and after re-pumping brakes, i got control and was able to park my murano. Going approximately 5-10 mph on the first occasion just rolling over rr tracks and then going 5 mph off an exit ramp over a small bump in the road and the brakes failed/went all the way to the floor on both occasions. Based on the amount of 2011 brakes issues i have read about online tonight regarding the same going over bumps/bump/brakes failing issue, i cannot believe the 2011s have not been added to the recall. I either expect adding 2011s to the recall as the 2009's got last month or i need to know where to take my car to be repaired at no charge. This is a definite safety issue that nissan has been made aware about is not a regular single part failing on its own.

Leaving parking lot of child's school, gas pedal went all the way to floor without moving car forward. I had difficulty safely getting out of the way of traffic and was left stranded with my yoing child!

Vehicle's convertible top stops working (while stationary) in mid operation when pressing button to either opening or closing top. Vehicle is not safe to drive while top is stuck and dashboard warning light is beeping notifying top is not secured. Vehicle has been taken to both the dealership and to place of purchase (carmax). And is currently at a nissan dealership now and has been there since 4/25/19. As of today 6/5/19 they have stated their final analysis determines the wire convertible top wire harness needs replacing because after multiple analysis they have determined the wire harness can't be repaired and that the warranty company is declining this electrical replacement. The top has randomly gotten stuck numerous and unpredictable times, whether at home, at work, a public parking lot, at the grocery store, at a stop light, etc., and i can't continue to safely drive the car when it malfunctions. So i'm not able to safely and confidently use it. Help me please.

Vehicle is in motion on a city street. When braking over a bump, brake pedal drops to the floor, vehicle does not stop. Brake malfunction - unsafe condition.It happened twice in a month. Independent shop stated to replace anti-lock brake's hydraulic control unit. Nissan will not sell the part. Brought to nissan dealer to check and stated it is normal. Nissan found everything operating normally and charged $ 210.00 for the inspection.

Vehicle has only 63,400 miles on it. Malfunction light came on and on the way to autozone to have code checked the car just stopped driving. I was stopped for a light and when i went to go nothing happened. Towed it to nissan and they said it needed a new transmission. (used) transmission installed and then the car stalled again during the test drive by mechanic. Now they say they have to replace the starter, which i did, so they can recheck the transmission. Got the car back and the very next day the same light came back on. I drove it straight to dealer and now they say that it needs catalytic converter. Replaced and now they say that it needs the front catalytic converter. Said there was a problem with the transmission seal when they got it. Probably what is causing all these other problems. Still have no idea when i will get the car back. It has been a month now. Have totally lost faith in nissan.

Transmission failed at a high rate of speed while driving on a public road. There was no indication of transmission issues with my vehicle. Matter of fact i just had my car serviced on july 13,2018, at nalley nissan of atlanta and the mil-point inspection which includes checking the transmission pass all systems in the green. This will be the third transmission on the vehicle including the original transmission in 6 years and only 122000 miles.

While driving on 95, break pedal went to floor after hitting a bump and breaking hard. After doing research, i learned that the abs module was the cause, and had been included in a recall for the 2009 model year. Noting that the failing part number for the 2009 year was "47660 1sw0a" and found to be identical to the 2011 year. My vehicle has about 97k miles. Why is the recall limited to the 2009 and not including the 2011?

Took vehicle into nissan of silsbee where vehicle was bought for service -- service person came to me and said that she had bad news -- vehicle had a rear main seal leak. First time ever, i took it to a private transmission concern to have them give me a second opinion and they said it was leaking between the transmission and 4-wheel drive. They pulled the transmission and found that factory specifications weren't up to date. The vehicle had always been serviced by silsbee nissan and i was never notified that there were transmission problems. Cost to me for repairs were $5,716 with 90,000 miles on vehicle.

With only 91000 miles, my 2011 murano is diagnosed with a bad transmission. Previous years models up to 2010 were all extended to 10 years/120000 miles warranty for the transmission, but that was ended for the 2011 year and nobody knows why. Nissan knows of the defects with their transmissions, but refuses to acknowledge it. This repair will cost me close to $5000 when all is said and done.

When the vehicle is in motion on city streets, the brake pedal goes to the floor when trying to stop. The vehicle can stop but with a fraction of the braking ability. The pedal continues to push all the way to the floor even when pumping the pedal. It corrects on its own after an hour or so. 4 occasions occurred after hitting a bump. 1 occasion occurred when the abs engaged after hitting a patch of ice. The master cylinder has been replaced (i saved the old one) and the brake pads have been replaced and the problem continues. It has only occurred about 5 times over a span of about 1year so it is very difficult to intentionally repeat and diagnose. Update to previous nhtsa complaint #11078866. The cost to repair my car was over$5000 and could not justify the expense. After living with the faulty sensor for almost 2 years, it's time to replace the vehicle. I hoped for a recall to be issued but nothing yet. To trade in or sell this vehicle, it's obvious due to warning light on dash that there is a problem with airbags. I need to discount my vehicle value or repair this. After some inquiry, i've discovered that my part is now replaced by part number 873a2-3zg6a. This part is the replacement for model years 2011-2014 in all trim levels s, sv, sl, le. It is the entire passenger bottom seat and costs $3700 or more plus labor=over $5000 to fix. Even if i could afford to fix this issue, there are no parts available in the usa according to sutherlin nissan of ft. Pierce fl. There is an apparent back order with no parts availability. To correct a seemingly similar part on a 2015 murano might require 2 parts totalling perhaps $340 and appropriate labor this total should be significantly less than the quote to repair my vehicle. An online search of suggested nissan murano repairs for the passenger occupant classification sensor was about $300, quite a contrast to my anticipated repair expense. This is a known issue for muranos and previous models have been recalled for this. I bought a nissan certified used car, then added a gold level service plan to cover bumper to bumper and yet the airbag system and components are specifically excluded. This is a required safety device. Its failure has made my vehicle worthless, based on potential trade offers. I assume nissan usa lost lots of money on the previous sensor recall campaign, and now they hope to recover some of those losses by passing that expense on unsuspecting customers. I think nissan usa realizes this as a major problem and are attempting to conceal this fault.

Transfee case leak noted during 60k miles. Suburban nissan of mi never took the initiative to replace the transfer case. Nissan replaced the seals only based on my complaint. The leak occurred again in transfer case at 126k miles. Now the dealer is recommending the replacement of seals only. Nissan refused to acknowledge issue with their garbage design.

Rear driver side door does not open or actuate consistently when automatic door lock unit is engaged. Concerns are getting access to or out of vehicle in case of accident or a safety related issue should we need to enter the car in an emergency.

Entering kansas city on i-49 north approximately 55 mph, on 2/20/18, in inclement weather, the car in the middle lane spun out of control and t-boned my passenger door before turning and sliding down my right side. As the passenger in the murano i felt the first hard impact against the door like a bomb went off yet side door airbag did not implode. I have pictures that show crease made at first impact and door bottom panel was bent outward. I called nissan and reported this both to dealership and manufacturer. They are saying this is a side swipe and therefore does not require implosion. Only witness is other driver who admitted fault, may also be honest about how we were first hit. I have a very heavy suv door on this car and always said it was a tank and would save our lives. I believe it was more the door design that saved us , and my husband's effective maneuvering, than an airbag that should have imploded.

The contact stated that he purchased a nissan gold standard warranty and was informed by the dealer that the warranty would not cover the repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was opened in regards to the extended warranty that was purchased. The failure mileage was approximately 92,000.

Once the vehicle starts moving by taking off very slow; it drives very well. However, after you come to a stop at a traffic light or stop sign and it is your time to go, the vehicle takes off , stops abruptly (although you are depressing the accelerator aggressively); then depending on how far down the accelerator is depressed the vehicle will take off and drive fine until you come to another stop. This problem has been occurring for a few months until the present. My research has not shown any recalls on the transmission or the computer.

The cvt transmission went after only 85000 miles . Car hesitates at stop signs and red lights

At approximately 8:30 am on 12/18/17, i was driving on i-70 in denver, co, going about 60 mph. Weather was a partly cloudy day, 45-50 degrees, road conditions were dry. As i was driving, i suddenly heard a loud pop or explosion, looked in rear view mirror and saw glass flying behind me, coming from my car. I slowed down immediately and exited the highly, pulling into a gas station to see what had happened. I exited the car and looked from the outside and the sunroof had completed shattered, leaving a huge hole. Fortunately, the inside shade was closed so all the glass blew out of the car and not into the interior. There were no other vehicles involved, nor was the police contacted. I had the sunroof replaced at safelite autoglass for a cost of $885.03. After the repair, it was noted that the interior shade would not open completely and seemed to be off track and the manager at safelite suggested i take it to the dealer. Took the vehicle to anissan dealer, who charged $99.95 just to look at and diagnose the problem with the shade. Diagnosis was the shattered glass had damaged the track and shade and both would need to be replaced at an estimated cost of $1600.00 (more detailed diagnosis could be provided after removing the headliner). We declined this repair at this time. So far we have paid out-of-pocket for the repairs at a total of approximately $985. If we choose to repair the shade and track, total cost estimates would be $2,584.

After the transmission has warmed up, if i come to a stop, the car will not accelerate for the first 15 sec regardless of how hard i push the accelerator or number of times i push on the accelerator. When it does finally go, i take off way too fast-likely due to laying on the accelerator wanting my car to go. This problems is dangerous. I have had it happen at stop signs, city lights, and highway exit ramps.

Transmission stepping motor - per the check engine code at no particular speed, gears slipping, popping into gear, no acceleration from from stop. Seems to get worse the further the drive.

As i was driving down the road i went over a speed bump and my brakes went all the way down to the floorboard. I was not going fast at the time this occurred. This has happened twice now, and i was told the master cylinder and brake booster needed to be replaced. Now i am out a vehicle until i can pay $1300 to get it replaced. My warranty just expired and now i am screwed. My brakes are still not working properly and did not go back to normal.

Right at 165000 miles the cvt transmission went out. It started slipping and went completely out 3 days later.

While driving my murano and applying pressure to the brakes to stop the vehicle, the brakes are spongy and will go all the way to the floor. This is a random thing that has happened, we have had the brakes checked was told there was no problem, there are no warning indicators, i have had this happen several times in the last couple of months, once while raining, all other times the roads were perfectly fine, luckily i do not drive fast or to close to people as this is a random thing that seems to happen. This has happened to me on city streets and while turning or pressing the brakes to come to a stop, usually when it happens i will pump the brake and it will come to a stop. I see that there are several complaints on this problem, i think it needs to be looked into before serious accidents happen.

Transmission failure. Began by losing power at higher rates of speed or during acceleration. Finally gave out at a stop sign. Could not accelerate through the intersection. Could have been a very dangerous situation.

My sunroof just shattered, i have no clue as to what happen

Driving in hot weather my car stalls. This happened in april 2017 i was told at that time it was my transmission by the dealer. I had the transmission replaced in nay 2017. This happened numerous times prior to my transmission being replaced. I go to accelerate and the car stalls

While driving on a city street toward an intersection to make a right turn, i ran over a bump (manhole cover/pot hole) and my brakes "went soft". When i tried to apply the brakes, there was no pressure (resistance) and the pedal went to the floor. Fortunately, i was driving at a low rate of speed and was eventually able to stop after a much longer distance than usual or safe. (it was like a 'rolling stop'.) i was informed by a service technician that i should replace the abs control module (very expensive). Fortunately, i did not collide with another vehicle or object.

While driving on the 202 w freeway diamond lane on sunday feb. 19 2017 a loud noise sounding like a gun shot in the vehicle scared the hell out of me my wife and son. There were no cars in directly in front of us or behind or on the side. Nothing hit the car. The sunroof exploded. Lucky no-one was behind us so the exploding glass did not hit another vehicle. Call nissan the next morning they told me to have the car toed into autonation nissan tempe . After 2 days i call to find out when the auto would be repaired and they told me to come and get the car because they were not going to repair it. I then brought it to a auto glass repair shop and they repaired the car. Nissan corporation called me and asked me questions but would not answer any of my questions and did nothing to repair there faulty sunroof glass.

On 12/15/16 i was driving my 2011 nissan murano awd and when braking for a left turn lane on a local street (going about 30 mph) the brake pedal all of a sudden had no pressure & went all the way to the floor. I could not stop the car & i had to veer to the right to avoid hitting a car in front of me. Towed the car to the nissan dealer the next day, 12/16/16, & they said it was the master brake cylinder. They replaced the master brake cylinder for about $700 & it was working normally except for a slight whirring sound. On 2/6/17, approximately a month and a half later. I was entering a freeway on ramp (curving type of on ramp approximately 45 mph) and the brakes went to the floor again with no pressure. I had to sharply turn to the right to avoid hitting the car in front and coast to a stop. Took the car to the same dealer and they said the problem was now worn front brakes $400. Then they called a little later and changed their diagnosis and said the issue was now the abs actuator, $1900. Did some research online and found that nissan has a recall for certain year murano abs actuators. I believe they should expand the recall because it seems to be affecting my 2011 murano and i have read many 2009 murano owners experiencing many of the same issues i am. Interestingly both times the brakes failed were on very rainy days. I think this issue should be addressed before a bad accident occurs where there could be a fatality.

Car has only 43000 miles on it and the valve body assembly needs to be replaced. I got a price of almost $1,700 for this repair and apparently it is a very common issue with these cars.

The pedal loses pressure when braking the car and reaches the floor. The suv have aprox. 72,000 miles

Took murano to mechanic because was having problems with braking, mechanic had brake serviced and made new. Now car is not wanting to stop even when pumpin brakes. Took back and was told by mechanic at shamrock that i need new abs hydrolic break system

The convertible top malfunctioned and was unable to completely close, so it would lift and fly off when my car was in motion. Had to manually lock back in place however the roof error signal kept consistently beeping since it thought the roof was still down. Had to disconnect wiring to be able to use car. Now a few other things don't work properly because of the wiring that has been disconnected as a quick fix to the problem.

I was driving up rt 33 going north toward ridgefield and there were fallen/cut branches on the side of the road (across the street from linden tree) that were sticking out, and scratched the full length of the right side of my car. They appeared to have been pushed to the side, but not enough to avoid brushing a car. I have a black car and one mark in particular runs the full length of the car. I took it to a car wash this morning hoping it would wash off, but it is a scratch. I spoke to gaylan in new canaan who suggested i file the claim here. I am not sure if this is the right section. I tried to take photos but due to glare and the thin line against a big black space, you cannot tell from a photo. I am happy to bring the car for firsthand inspection. I am very upset as i went to the area today and there is an orange cone next to the brush to alert people, but i did not see the cone as it was tucked behind some of the leaves. Please advise as this car is still pretty new and these scratches are impossible to get out and have damaged the paint surface on the right side of my car.

My wife's nissan murano had been having problems with the brakes going all the way down to the floor. I took it in to nissan dealership to get checked out finally the guy there told me that the brakes didn't act up on them so they can't diagnose the problem and that so far everything looks good. I left thinking maybe it was just the brakes getting worn out. About five months later it happened again while she was driving home. She said she was going 40 and she suddenly had no brakes having to put her vehicle on park so she wouldn't hit the vehicle infront of her finally she had no brakes and had to move her car using the emergency brake on and off untill she reached a shopping center ahead. I went to pick the truck up and the brakes were working fine again. Then i called nissan explained what happened and they told me they had no record of them ever taking a look at the truck. And that my factory warranty has finally expired so the master cylinder isn't covered which is what's wrong with the brakes supposively. I'm aware that the master cylinder completely stops working when it goes bad but for it to work and sometimes not work sounds very strange. I have read online that many people have had the same problem with this particular vehicle and thy say it starts not working six months after changing themaster cylinder. I called nissan for recalls but they don't have anything for this vehicle. I don't understand how so many people have had the same problem and nissan hasn't looked into addressing the problem. We need something done about this because they charge me 900$ plus to replace when i had obviously told them the vehicle was acting up during the time of my warranty.

When i start to accelerate after a stop light or stop sign, my car will hesitate to accept the gas and seems as if it's going to quit, however, inadvertently it finally catches up and will start to accelerate. This has been happening since i purchased this vehicle in june of 2016. It seems as if it is more often lately. This happens often and is dangerous going through an intersection. Also, this makes me uneasy because anyone behind me could possibly run into the back of my car.

The vehicle lost power while the accelerator pedal was depressed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic lot and then to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the transmission failed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 51,000.

While exiting a parking space at a low speed (less than 10 mph) the car unexpectedly accelerated to full throttle. Braking would not hold it and my car ran into another vehicle after traveling 5-15 yards, pushing it up on a sidewalk before stopping. Both cars total loss due to bent frame/rails. My front end demolished and radiator pushed into engine but no airbags deployed. After the incident it was discovered that my accelerator pedal had snapped off.

My door locks began to fail intermittently when i try to enter or exit the vehicle. On 2/13/16 i got into the vehicle late at night, cranked it, put it in drive, and began to pull off when the vehicle totally shut down and would not crank(leaving me stranded, at night, in freezing wrather). The vehicle would not restart. It would only click....Then eventually do nothing. Later that evening we attempted again. It would not start until we hit the lock button on the remote.(battery previously replaced). This is clearly a defect with nissans as seen on many complaint forums. All 4 actuators failing are ridiculous. I was told by a mechanic (not associated with nissan but has had to work many of the same issues with their vehicles) that it is a security system issue and the vehicle actually thinks you are stealing it so it shuts down. Hopefully, it won't think that while i am traveling on the interstate. Please investigate. The next day, it wouldn't start. *tr

Less than 100,000 miles on the car, 4 engine mounts are cracked, never off road, used for commuting and travel on highways. On chat board for murano owners, found several other instances of cracked motor mounts, happening as early as approximately 30,000 miles. Not sure of date occurring but told at oil change service nissan of bakersfield about engine mount problem, i think on 12/22/15. *js

Started going 70-60 mph on freeway and car suddenly stopped accelerating causing me to move quickly to the other side of the freeway. I think it may be the alternator, not sure yet

2011 nissan. Consumer states that the airbags did not deploy during vehicle accident . *ld *js *tt *dt air bag system components ( the curtain/ head air bags and the seat belt pretensioners) were also replaced. Updated 10/3/18*jb *dt consumer stated car was brought new only had 7,000 miles. Air bag did not deploy and consumer's husband went into the front window crushed his forhead his brain bleeding. He also broke his hip and smashed his knee. He was unconcious and died 2 years later. Repair was over $16,000.*jb

I began experiencing a loss of motion while driving this vehicle. On two separate occasions, while on the road and moving the vehicle lost ability to move. At one point i was limited to unsafe driving speeds of less than 15 miles per hour. All occurrences of loss of motion occurred on city streets where posted speed limits were 45 mph or less. The last occurrence was in my driveway when the vehicle would not start. I had to have the vehicle towed for service at which time it was determined the transmission was in need of replacement. At 60,000 miles the transmission on this vehicle was at full failure and full replacement was necessary. All recommended maintenance was completed on this vehicle and it was not used for towing purposes.

All 4 of my door lock actuators have gone out at the same time.

Transmission slips or shifts hard into gears. Transmission has also just stopped working in the middle of traffic. Gets worse the warmer it is. Slower speeds have the hard shifting and higher speeds it often wont shift to the next higher gear.

The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician diagnosed that the master cylinder needed to be replaced. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer, where the technician confirmed the failure but the vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 55,000.

While driving my nissan murano 2011, the car lost its brakes while driving on the road. I started pumping the brakes until they started working, but defective. I went to nissan center and they told me that they had to change the master cylinder and he wasn't surprised. Told me that this was not their first case, but there were no recalls, so i have to pay $600 for a new master cylinder. *tr

2011 nissan murano with 66,000 miles failed while driving in freeway traffic, in a construction zone, on 2/12/2015. The model is equipped with continuously variable transmission (cvt). Nissan written powertrain coverage period on 2011 models is "60 months or 60,000 miles, whichever comes first." nissan notified us, the owners of the murano, that the parts and labor were not covered by warranty. Nissan consumer affairs did not help. Nissan vice president total customer satisfaction, [xxx], previously issued a continuously variable transmission (cvt) warranty extension for model years 2003-2010 which covered repairs, replacement, and related towing expenses. Since the 2011 model is equipped with cvt (same transmission as 2003-2010 models covered by extended warranty), it needs to be covered under the warranty extension. Nissan corporation knew of the cvt problem, which was the reason for the cvt warranty extension between the years of 2007 and 2010. The company has not adequately modified the part and has not adequately modified the warranty to meet the needs of the consumer. The cvt failure put our safety in jeopardy, caused us to miss work, and cost nearly $4,000, which put us into severe financial duress. With nissan\'s awareness of the nissan cvt failure problems, the cvt should have been remedied before the point we bought the vehicle or should have, at least, been covered by warranty. We were never asked if we wanted our old transmission back and were never given the serial numbers. When we called and inquired, we were told that it had been shipped "back to nissan" within 5 business days and that there was no way we could get it back or call to get the identifying information. Driver's side sun visor does not remain in the up position droops down when driving over small bumps, impairing driver visibility. This happens when driving but is getting worse and soon i anticipate the visor will not stay in the up position when the vehicle is stationary.

Sunroof of my 2011 nissan murano exploded suddenly while driving down the highway on a clear day and no other cars in the area. The malfunction of the sunroof exploding caused the center of the sunroof glass to protrude outward into a dome shape while glass pieces shattered into the cabin of the murano. Upon contacting the nissan dealer, they referred me to the national nissan customer service number, but after 4 days i am still waiting on a call back from the regional nissan office. This is a major safety issue that nissan must take responsibility for correcting as soon as possible. *tr

The trunk opened without warning and the convertible roof opened and closed on its own. The dealer was unable to find the location of the leak. I have noticed on numerous occasions this summer, a crackling sound in lower portion of the front windshield. I actually remember hearing it last summer but it is now more audible. The warm weather must be a factor. I have also experienced problems with my keyless fob, it does not always work and my ignition an rear lift gate sometimes will operate even when the fob is within 3 feet. This has occurred several times over the past 2 months. I took it to nissan and they could not find the problem. I purchased the car brand new in aug. 2011. No accidents. Updated 4/24/2015 *js

We were driving at 35 miles/hr with 3 years old daughter in the car seat in the back. Suddenly the roof just exploded. We had the inside cover of the sunroof open and the debris from the roof explosion flew in our daughter face. Fortunately, beside minor scratches on her face and crying when we put her back to the car, she is ok. She now resist us when we try to put her in this car. This is absolutely a quality issue from nissan. We agree with nissan that we never heard about roof exploding before, but we as many other have witnessed one from car made by nissan. *tr

While traveling approx 65 mph on the highway with no trucks or overpasses around my sunroof glass literally exploded! I thought i had a tire blowout until i heard wind coming from the roof and saw bright light from the sunshade cracks. When i opened the visor a crack you could see the glass had exploded upward. I had a large chunk of glass missing from the sunroof. I saw another complaint on nhtsa for the same situation and i an very concerned about the safety of the glass. Thank you for you consideration! While i was driving down the road at about 45 mph no other vehicles around me and no overpass or trees above me , my sunroof exploded (it sounded like a gunshot went off) and then i heard a crackling noise which as soon as i pulled over i found it had exploded upwards and shattered. On friday april 27, 2012 i was in albuquerque proceeding east in the passing lane of central avenue se, going 20 mph. A black camero, proceeding north on jefferson st ne, ran a stop sign, sped into the intersection and collided with the front of my 2011 nissan murano. When this happened not one airbag deployed i suffered injuries and am going in for back surgery tomorrow. The murano frame was bent and the car totaled. *js

At low speeds on slight incline will not accelerate with input to gas pedal rpms will increase vehicle will not respond then suddenly drive train will respond and engage (a slipping action) vehicle will suddenly launch forward with a slight bang and bucking of vehicle. Dealer has had vehicle checked for problem approx 5-6 times could not duplicate issue. Bbb complaint in process of being filed. Dealer and manufacturer no help with issue. Formal complaint filed with dealership, no response @ present. Vehicle is dangerous when not responding and confusing control of vehicle when it does respond to throttle input. *jb

I parked the murano in the garage and closed the garage door then went inside the house. About 30 minutes later i heard a muffled boom sound. I thought the wind was blowing furniture around on my deck. I went to check the garage and noticed tempered glass on the floor. I looked at the lift gate door and noticed the entire glass window had shattered inward. Most of the glass was inside the car. I don't know how it happened but it was raining that day and the temperature had fallen. *tr

Driving appx. 30mph on open asphalt road, no cars ahead of me, no cars behind me when heard loud explosion, similar to shot gun blast. When located trouble found the moon roof had exploded. Appeared to be an upward explosion. Car taken to nissan dealer for repairs. Damage was not caused from any flying objects. Has to be a defect. *tr

Travelling @ 70 mph when sunroof exploded. Light rain, no nearby traffic, no overpass. Fortunate to pull over without an accident. *tr

While driving the brake light comes on and stay on when i pressed the brakes the car shimmer took car to dealer for repair was told the car was repaired now the brake light is on again while i am todays date sept. 23 . Have to make another apointment to check out brake again. *tr
