• Recall 115789 [USA]: An electrical short can cause a vehicle fire.
  Nissan north america, inc. (nissan) is recalling certain model year 2008-2013 nissan rogue vehicles manufactured march 7, 2007, to november 26, 2013, and 2014 nissan rogue select vehicles manufactured september 23, 2013, to july 2, 2014. The affected vehicles may experience an electrical short in the harness connector due to a mixture of snow/water and salt seeping through the carpet on the driver side floor near the harness connector.
  nissan will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the kick panel wiring harness connector and will if necessary install a new harness connector and waterproof seal, free of charge. The recall began on february 26, 2015. Owners may contact nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.

  On certain vehicles, wiring harness connector could corrode due to exposure to snow/water containing road salt. This could result in an electrical short causing damage to the connector and increasing the risk of a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will add a waterproof seal, inspect the harness connector and replace as necessary.

  The office of defects investigation (odi) reviewed its complaint data and nissans design, test and field data on the model year 2013 nissan rogue vehicles (subject vehicles) and other model year rogue vehicles.Odi also reviewed its complaint data and nissans field data on several other nissan and infiniti models that use the same driver air bag inflator design used in the subject vehicles.In addition, nhtsa conducted testing and analysis of a sample of driver air bag inflator units taken out of the subject vehicles and reviewed a nhtsa crash database and crash test results on the rogue vehicles.A safety-related defect trend has not been identified at this time and further use of agency resources does not appear to be warranted.Accordingly, this investigation is closed.The closing of this investigation does not constitute a finding by nhtsa that no safety-related defect exists.The agency will monitor the issue and reserves the right to take future action if warranted by the circumstances.See attached report for additional information.The odi complaints cited above can be viewed at www.Safercar.Gov under the following odi identification numbers:10566667, 10644946 and 10862615.

Vehicle loses power/ability to accelerate on longer drives, especially when up/down hills are involved.

Our 2013 nissan rogue seatbelt light flashes for no apparent reason. This seems to be a problem that has never been resolved by the manufacturer. It also seems that it is a well documented situation. Nissan should be made to research and give a definite fix without the customer suffering trial and error repairs.

When driving in approximately 90* weather on the highway, we lost all power/pickup and the car wouldn't get over approximately 45mph. This was an extreme safety hazard as the road we were on had no breakdown lane. We were eventually able to pull off the highway and let the vehicle cool for about 20 minutes and then we went backroads for the remainder of the drive. This has happened at least 5 additional times, all when driving on the highway in high temps and when the rpms on the car are higher than 2k consistently. This is so dangerous and i cannot believe that nissan isn't doing anything to make this safety issue right.

Purchased this car in 2015 from.Nissan dealership. The car randomly loses power when i'm on the highway. It's happened 3 times within the last 3 months. The car smokes a bit when this happens. Took it to my licensed mechanic who's owns a shop and was told my transmission was fine, the fluids in the car where up to par and he couldn't find anything wrong with the engine. Was told nissan rogue has many issues with the cvt and its worth seeing if there are any open recalls on the car. So i checked by vin number and nothing came up. But as i do my research into other owners that have the same make and model as well year of my car, they are having the same issue. Wondering why hasn't this been looked into.

My car has not felt the same in a while. I got it tested by a few mechanics and finally got the answer. Car makes a humming sound and feels like it’s not using all its power. The mechanic told me it’s the transmission is starting to go. As i did more research i’m finding that this is becoming a common problem with nissan vehicle owners from 2010-2016 especially the 2013 nissan rogue. The car only has 68000 miles since we purchased brand new in 2013.I do all it’s regular maintenance requirements.

Driver's door will not unlock at all. It will not unlock manually with the key nor will it unlock by pressing the inside unlock button on drivers door. All other doors will unlock. If involved in accident or need emergency assistance i will be trapped inside the vehicle.

I was driving in the morning, on a somewhat busy road that acts as a small two lane highway that leads to the freeway, and all of a sudden it felt like i had gotten a flat tire and was driving on the rim. No sounds, just dramatic loss of power. I was able to pull over on a very narrow shoulder. Inspected tires and all were perfectly fine. I waited a few, turned car on which started just fine. Put car into gear but absolutely no engagement!! Nothing. With foot pedal to the floor, just didn't move. Rpm's were normal along with speed odometer. This was not only a scary situation to be in knowing that while in motion this vehicle lost all ability to function but a huge safety concern for me and others. I truly hope this doesn't happen anymore! Something needs to be done about this. Not okay nissan not okay

After driving on the freeway in hot weather the car car decelerates and will not accelerate. Car goes from 65 mph to around 40 mph. This is a very dangerous situation in traffic. This has happened several times every year since we bought car. I have 'googled' this and it seems to be quite common with this nissan model. Also other nissan models. I am afraid to take this car on any road trip. Nissan will not address this issue. Something needs to be resolved before someone gets killed in this car!

Cvt transmission is failing. Vehicle is shuddering and lurched during acceleration. First incident occurring on uphill climb on interstate. Immediately had to exit interstate as the vehicles speed dropped dramatically in traffic with other vehicles present. Car manual explains that the vehicle does not need to be towed to dealership in this condition.

Upon driving to austin in february, my car began to lose power on a highway with 70 mph limit. The rpm continued to g up , as did the gas gage. I was not able to accelerate. Luckily , i was near an exit and able to coast off to barely make it to the gas station, to allow the car to cool. The temperature gage, never ran hot. Then just last week making the same trip, the same issue, but this time the check engine light came on. This is a dangerous situation where i could be killed, or kill someone else because i am not able to move at the required speed. I thin took it to a nissan dealer and was told it was the transmission. I filed a complaint with nissan headquarters. Someone name jeremy called me a couple of days later only to say that the warranty had expired and there was nothing he could do. I even mentioned the class action suit that he said he knew nothing about. This is a defective factory issue and should have been recalled. I do not have the money, nor should i have to pay for something that was an issue that they knew about. I am including pictures of the repairs. I can provide the whole report, but i do not have a scanner at the moment. Also the firm brandsetter, straanch and jennings in tennessee has a class action suit. Please investigate this. When she did this the vehicle slowed down to about 40mph. She was near an exit so she took it and as she was climbing the hill on the exit the car had lost so much power she was going about 5mph. She made it up the exit and pulled the car over and shut it off. She waited a few minutes and started it again and the car would not move at all until she got it up to about 5000 rpm and then it was only inching forward a little. She let the car sit for about 4 hours and towed it home but by then the vehicle started up and rode up the trailer ramp and then back down the ramp when she got it home just like it was normal.

I have had problems with this car since the first week i bought it. If it's not one thing it's another. Engine problems, oil leaking problems. Check engine light coming on whenever. Possible oil burning problem. Spark plugs, piston rings, axles, cylinders, mounts. This car is in the shop every other 2-3 weeks. Now it's been in the shop for a month+. It's is crazy that a dealership would sell this vehicle to a customer. There's even this thuddering noise. Things have been fixed and something else went wrong. It's been non stop repairs since day one. It also seems that 2013 nissan rogues and had many manufacturer problems and issues. I feel this was damaged car that was never reported and then someone fixed a few fake things and then resold it know this car was no good. When i drive it makes a loud thudder noise, the steering is not smooth. Also one night my car completely stopped when i tried to reverse and red light came on.

After that, the blower motor burned up while warming up one morning. I started smelling burned plastic, $300 repair. 6 months later, i am spending $4000 to replace the burned up transmission. I went into fail-safe mode while i was attempting to make a turn against traffic. Then i could smell something burned after driving.Now i have just spent another $500 on a new battery and cables and new alternator, only to hear my vehicle still not starting. As i write this, i'm waiting for a call from firestone to now tell me what's wrong with my car and how much this will cost! It is only february, and i have already used my 2 weeks vacation because my car is undriveable. Meanwhile, i still have 2 yrs left on my auto loan agreement. Please help us 2013 nissan rogue victims

We live paycheck to paycheck and cant afford that so i contacted corporate nissan who did an "investigation" and denied that they were at fault for the faulty transmission. After doing some research i have seen several articles about complaints of loss of acceleration. This is a major safety hazard, like i said we had no warning at all.

My car will no longer move when the gas is pressed. I have been told by several people it is the cvt transmission. Driving on the highway and it just stopped. I almost got hit. Now it won't accelerate at all.

On our return trip from miramar beach, fl to our home in vestavia hills, al the car's speed abruptly reduced to approximately 45 mph after driving at approximately 60 mph on a state highway (for approximately 1 1/2 hours) but the vehicle would not respond to the accelerator other than to "vroom" when i pressed it with my foot. The problem with acceleration did not correct itself during the remaining 75 miles of the trip. We also smelled an odor like burned oil when we stopped. Very dangerous as all other cars passed us on this alabama state highway and the subsequent distance on interstate-65. Based on what we have read on the internet, including settlements of class action law suits and extended warranty awards for earlier model years, we believe the problem is related to the nissan's cvt transmission and it's factory settings.

The contact was informed that the cvt transmission and external oil cooler needed to be replaced as per tsb 16-090. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed of the failure. The failure mileage was 130,650.

When driving the vehicle for 2 hours or more it looses speed. I was driving back from tenesse to chicago and it started loosing rpm. I started loosing speed and had issue going up hill. The driver was able to move onto the road shoulder, restarted the engine and drove the vehicle off the highway traffic. The drive drove the vehicle home on the back roads. There was no warning lights on the instrumental panel before or during the failure occurred. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic and a transmission mechanic and the contact was advised to take the vehicle to a nissan dealer.The vehicle was taken to kelly nissan of woburn nissan 95 cedar street woburn, ma, 01801 phone (781-835-3500) the dealer performed a diagnostic that located the failure at the cvt transmission internal the transmission failure wad due temperature logic raised temperature transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted. The failure mileage was 75,000.

They have torn my car apart replacing the roof airbags twice, the wiring harness twice and the other air bags and each time they say the fixed the problem only to have the airbags warning lights come back on. While traveling on the highway the car started slowing down even though i was pressing on the gas. This happened a little over an hour into driving. I pulled off and after a little while started driving again and everything was fine. On a second occasion after driving on the highway for a little over an hour again i pulled off to get gas and stopped at a red light. When the light turned green, i press my foot on the gas and the car did not move. Picked my foot up and press down again with no movement at first but then the car started rolling very very slowly. It finally picked up enough speed to get me out of the intersection and to the gas station. My destiination was about 45 minutes away and i did make it there without any other incidents. My husband was also driving the car about a week before this and after stopping at a stop sign, he pressed on the gas but the car did not move at first. Moved very slowly into oncoming traffic and luckily he was able to back it up before being hit. When this occurs, no warning lights come on. We just have total loss of acceleration.

2013 nissan rogue trouble light comes on with a code B1018 & B1022 witch is passenger seat sensor. Other models of the same year are being recalled for the same problem. I was driving slowly in a 35 mph speed limit area and my airbag light started flashing. After lots of research i found that the 2014 rogue has a recall for this issue, but not the 2013. Car would tack at 5k-6k rpm and not downshift, would lose power as driving uphill in heat. Wouldn't shift out of gear , making loud buzzing sound. Recently brought to nissan dealership who stated it was a transmission failure where the transmission doesn't cool. My vehicle continues to go into limp mode when driving on the highway. A mechanic states that it the cvt, transmission issue. I just went over my warranty and now i'm going to have to pay out of pocket 3,000-5,000 dollars to have fixed. My daughter was stopped at a red light and when she tried to accelerate the car wouldn't move. She was able to get to the side of the road and after a few mins & a trip to advance auto parts & then a mechanic she was told to bring it home. Then the check engine light came on. She pulled into another advanced auto parts and they reset it. She lost power while driving over 50 mph on back roads and the interstate several more times. This car is not safe to drive. We were told she needs a new transmission and it only has 82k miles. She's a high school student and doesn't have $3,700 so the car just sits while she still makes payments.

Airbag light is flashing. I have a 2013 rogue only 47k miles. Took to dealer, after 150.00 to diagonose . They said they found code stored for past airbag..Past??? And they have a procedure. Next...They said they have to change the spiral cable- part alone is 682.00 and if that doesnt do it, then they have to go to the control board and thats 1020.00 for part... Car seem fine at first, but while driving on the highway it began to make strange noises. It hasted a little at the red light. Once i reached home and pulled into the driveway, car cut off, i restarted the car it did move when in drive or in reversed.

2013 nissan rogue has acceleration problems when driving on the interstate. It won't accelerate and sometimes stalls out. It only happens when driving long periods of time or when trying to accelerate up a hill.

We were traveling down i 65 in kentucky at interstate speed when all of a sudden the car just lost power. The car would barely go 40mph. We were only a few miles from home so we limped the car home. Driving on i4 in florida my car went from 70mph to 30 in less than 1min when i took it to the dealership they sd it was a cracked filter and fixed it 4mos later i was driving on highway got off the exit and stopped at traffic light when light changed hit gas pedal and the car will not move i pump it and then it started going but very sluggish til it picked up speed .This past friday the same exact thing happened again. I have to turn off car on the side of the freeway for 10-15 mins before trying to drive again, only to have the speeds reduce and rpms race out of control again. If you are trying to go up hill for a short distances or go up hill on entrances ramps, exit ramps, or up hill on bridges there is the same lag in transmission. The rpms race out of control and rogue dangerously reduces speeds. There is also a loud whining noise when you press accelerator beyond 60mph or going up hills, ramps, or bridges. I'm frustrated with nissan they know about this issues with this model 2013 nissan rogue. They've even extended the transmission warranty for 2008-2010 with the same issue just under a different name. They also acknowledge its a problem for models 2008-2013 through there 2015 nissan service bulletin. My frustration is nissan wants me to pay thousands for a known problematic safety issue with these models and years. But refuse to do so. If they can extend the cvt transmission warranty for the 2008-2010 they should also extend the ctv warranty for the 2013 model that's having the same issues with the cvt sensor and valve. I did a research on the 2013 nissan rogue. 2yrs ago on the same truck.Well anyway i didn't think i would have any problems with my truck until now. The transmission has now failed in my truck. Its has stalled on me in the middle of the street and highway which is a danger to me and other cars on the street. The electrical in the truck when trying to drive over the speed limit or not the truck will start to overheat and shut down on me in the street. Then i would have to seat and wait around an half hour to an hour. I have been experiencing problems for awhile but didn't expect it to get this bad.

The transmission "stalled" stopped operating as i was at 55 mph, at the end of a steep uphill onramp merging onto hwy 395 from hwy 70 in eastern california. No warning lights on dash showed. A month ago i was having acceleration issues with my vehicle. I was at a traffic light and could not make the left turn because my vehicle would not accelerate. A month later having same acceleration issue, nissan a week later said i needed a fuel pump. Drove home from the dealership after paying another $915 and my vehicle is giving off a burning smell, making horrible noise which wasn't present previously and struggling to drive.

I just took my vehicle in for it's normal maintenance (oil change/filters, etc.) today - 7/12/19. All is in good condition, except i asked nissan to look at the flashing airbag light that started about a week ago for no apparent reason (o/a 7/5/19). They told me that my front air bag sensor is not working, and that it is not covered and would cost me apx $1,020 to fix. This is an apparent safety issue, and i did nothing to my vehicle for this kind of thing to stop working. I am concerned for my safety and am very reliant on my car to get to and from work, etc. I believe, due to the safety aspect alone, this should be a recall notice and fixed. Several independent body shops could not detect the problem. In viewing other complaints, sounds like it's the transmission. Nissan needs to recall 2013 nissan rogues for this problem!

When driving down interstate going 65 - 70 mph after 1 hr driving car suddenly stooped accelerating. I pulled off on an exit and reached a stop light. When i pushed on gas pedal the car would not accelerate right away. Happened at two sets of lights. Shut the car off for 20 minutes and started driving again and it seemed ok. Driving ok short distances while i was in maine. On my way home to massachusetts after 1 hr of driving on interstate going 60 - 70 mph again i lost acceleration. Had to pull over and sit another 20 minutes. I was able to continue my drive after sitting and letting it cool down.

Takata recall. This would be my second time changing this transmission. First time was when my car didn't wanna accelerate and got stuck on 40 mph instead of 70 miles per hour. My nissan at the time had only 50,000 miles. My nissan right now has over 150,000 and the transmission slipping again. Did a transmission flush and nothing. I've also notice now when the weather is over 96 degrees the transmission acts up by stalling on 40 mph while driving. Even my ac compression also takes a high effect as well. If it's not one, it's the other.

2013 nissan rogue, 100,000 miles. I was driving the vehicle south down the interstate from charleston to orlando, ~70 mph, driving normally in june 2019. Around the ga/fl border, when i would hit the gas pedal to accelerate, the spedometer wouldn't go higher. The engine would rev, and the rpms would increase to 3-4,000. Happened for about 10 minutes until i got to an off-ramp. After the car cooled down for 45 minutes, we got back on the road since it was a sunday night in the middle of nowhere ga, kingston to be exact. It drove well for the rest of the drive down to orlando with stops every hour. Same thing happened on the way up from orlando to charlotte, rpms went up, spedometer didn't move. Let the car cool and then it drove fine at lower speeds. Took it to a nissan dealership when i got back and they diagnosed the transmission as having a faulty torque converter, P0744 was the code that came back. 12 hours of labor, saying they needed to replace the transmission. Found the service bulletin: ntb16-090, and it seems like it's spot on, happened after prolonged driving in high temperatures. After reading the bulletin, it connects the dots for why my engine would sound weird when i was driving in the mountains, the engine would start to sound really trying after some time. Saw that a number of nissan vehicles have been recalled due to faulty cvt transmissions, and i don't know why nissan 2013 rogues have not been recalled yet.

My 2013 nissan rogue loses power while driving and will only accelerate to twenty miles per hour doing this time. Today 06/17/2019 is the fourth episode. The first three happen while in cruise control driving uphill. I had to turn the car off and after 15 minutes or so it was drivable. However today it happened while driving on a normal flat freeway surface while in the hov lane. Traffic was light or this could have been a major issue. My wife and granddaughter were in the care with me. From my research, many owners or having or had this problem with their 2013 nissan with the cvt transmission. Request someone checks and require nissan to fix the problem(s).

At 60 to 70 mph rpm increases to 6,000 then car slow's down and stops . This is a life threatening situation. This has happened to many people . This car should be off the road now. Do your job!

A month after buying the vehicle brand new i brought it to the dealership because of excessive shaking and jittering and whining noises. They said it was normal that it's the new style transmission. Now 140k miles later. I'm onn a trip with cruise control set at 75 i noticed i was slowing down it slowed to 60 while driving down the interstate in the middle of fast moving traffic. Turned cruise control off and attempted to accelerate. Once i pressed the gas pedal it did nothing. Rpms didnt go up mph didnt go up. It was like it just shut off. I got to the next exit pulled off on side turned the vehicle off and then back on. It was fine about an hour later it did the same thing so stopped at a gas station checked fluids everything normal. Got back on the interstate it was normal again. Made it to our destination and vehicle seemed fine the next 2 days but we never needed to drive over 55. On the trip home it started again about an hour in. So we stopped ate and got back on the interstate. This time we kept the speed under 65 the entire trip home and it was fine. Brought it to the dealership to get it checked out to find out that it's my transmission that needs to be replaced.

When driving, the transmission overheats with no indicators. It starts to lose speed and rev very high while the vehicle continuously drops in speed. The diagnostic came back that it was a default in the transmission. The car also jerks, revs, and is very loud.

Failed inspection, reason the air bag light was blinking,,,,,ma. Rmv......Garage says its a clock switch ? That is located in steering column .....

My 2013 nissan rogue needs the transmission replaced. It has 101.512 miles on it. For a vehicle that is only 6 years old this is very upsetting. I have contacted consumer affairs hoping that they will pay or help pay for the cost. I have been reading about the cvt in these vehicles and it seems to be a major issue. I feel as a consumer this should be taken care of by nissan.They should really stand behind their product. Hot in it one morning the engine e light came on backed out of my garage put it in drive and could not go over 5 miles an hour and it was making a whining so ound. Parked it and had it towed to a nissan dealership.I am very upset that this happened and that i have this expense now.

They constantly keep telling me major things have been wrong transmission replaced as well ac system etc. Ive paid there service department almost 8000.00 for engine and they. The other day i had oil changed and the mechanic left oil cap off and my engine almost caught fire. They said all was ok.. Please help me ! I believe they are truly taking my money when a lot these issues could've been not needed cause i'm always keeping up with maintenance and have all receipts.. Please help !!

After driving about an hour and a half in 90 degrees with air conditioner on, the rpms jolted upwards while my car began to decelerate. It felt like it popped out of gear and i was careening down the highway in neutral. I was able to get it to the side of the rode and let it set for a couple of hours. I then had to take back roads and drive under 50 mph with out air conditioner, but made it home. I brought it in to maplewood klein nissan dealer and device. They did a diagnostic test and said there was an intermittent transmission problem. I needed a new transmission, at $4200, and the car only has 139000 miles. They told me to contact nissan consumer affairs and file a complaint. They service department said this appears to be a common problem and nissan company has been helping with repairs, anywhere between 30-70%. However, after several phone calls and emails, i was informed by the consumer affairs department they do not help customers with this issue if past the 60000 miles or 5 years. I asked how the other customers where able to get help, despite being past the warranty, and i was told nissan was in no position to help me. I said it was dangerous t drive and the cvt should not be going out this soon. I also stressed that research shows many customers are experiencing the same issue and something is wrong with the transmission they put in the cars. I was told no help would be given, thank you for calling.

I was accelerating to merge onto an expressway today, and my acceleration cut out in my vehicle. My vehicle lost all acceleration and coasted to idle speed. I was luckily able to move off the expressway at idle speed, but i may have not been so lucky in another scenario. I also noticed that my brake lights stay on sometimes when the car is off or the pedal is not pressed. The car seems to think the brakes are engaged and will not allow any acceleration. I found this tsb for my vehicle that describes the exact issue i am facing. However, the tsb is inaccurate. It states there is "low power" when accelerating. There is actually "no power." the car does not accelerate at all when this issue is encountered but will coast to idle speed. This issue puts the driver's life at risk, as well as others on the road, and should result in a full recall before people die. This complaint is in regards to the classification and inaccuracy of the following tsb, which should be classified as recall and corrected to reflect the vehicle losing all acceleration. While traveling to orlando florida on sunday 05/27/2019, my vehicle stopped accelerating on the highway. The more i pressed the gas pedal the slower my vehicle became. By the grace of god an 18 wheeler truck saw my distress and guided me 1 mile to the exit on i-75 south. My car dropped down to 20 mph. This was the most traumatic experience. I was stranded from 6 pm sunday until 6:30 am the next morning where i was then able to get my vehicle msu ran errands company to tow me 113 miles to my nephew's home in brayselton georgia where we took the vehicle to a nissan dealership in buford georgia. They ran a diagnostic check to find out my transmission was gone. I never had an indication this was going out and now the price to replace this transmission is well over $5,000.00. I am over 400 miles away from my vehicle and don't know how i will get my vehicle fixed. Dealership told me that since i am not going to get it fixed by them i need to come get it due to them not having room to store it until i can figure out what to do. The warranty only lasted for 60,000 miles or 5 years which ever came 2st. Why can't the warranty on such an expensive part be given a 100,000 mile warranty? People such as myself riding along going about their everyday business ot knowing the vehicle they purchased can literally be a death trap. This is so not right to have to come up with a large amount of cash for such a huge repair and still have a car note to pay. I would like for nissan to go online and read the reviews of their product, stand by these people and stand by he product. It should not have to wait until someone loose their life to dig deep into seeing the problem.

Car was stationary in our driveway at home. Passenger door front would not unlock nor open with the key fob. Tried to unlock it physically but it would not open. Got inside and door still would not unlock nor open. The handle of the door would not move into side door outside.

While taking extended drives, the rpm's begin to increase and the vehicle begins to loose power slowing down to the point where it completely loses power. This has happened at least six times on the road, five on busy interstate highways. All instances the speed of the vehicle was traveling in excess of 60mph. Nissan knows of the problem with its cvt transmissions and has issued a technical bulletin. Nissan's technical service bulletin ntb14-002d, which describes the issue as the cvt going into fail-safe after continuous operation under the following conditions: 1) high rpm and/or driving speeds of 65 mph for 1.0 - 1.5 hours or more, 2) driving in ambient temperature of 96 degrees or higher, 3) climbing steep or extended hills for 6 miles or more, and 4) whine or rattle noise occurring during reduced engine performance (vehicle speed decrease). In the case of my vehicle, these conditions were present in most of the cases (four of the six times), in two instances ambient temperature was not a factor (november and february travel) and in one instance, climbing steep or extended hills was not a factor. Now the transmission seems to be slipping during short, local, trips. This began occurring at approx. 36,000 miles and the vehicle now has 90,000 miles (this report to nhitsa is for the most recent incident on 5/20/19). I don't take long trips frequently (10 is probably the maximum number of long trips i have made in this car). Nissan has identified a problem with 2008-2010 cvt transmissions and have extended the warranty on the rogue to 10 yrs./120,000 miles; the same should be done with this model as well. It is unsafe and unacceptable. I've talked to three nissan service departments and all three have wildly different answers (and prices). I don't which dealer to trust, and i don't know if it's better to repair it or trade it. Either way, i can't afford it.

Driving 70-75 mph on i-80 west less than a year after bought used. Began hearing high-pitched whine that stopped when i lifted my foot from the accelerator. Continued two miles to plaza with sound getting louder and had to coast into parking area because transmission would no longer engage. No revving, nothing. Towed home ($213). Fine for months, then happened again on turnpike. Pulled over, waited an hour to cool. Drove rest of distance going 50 mph or less. Finally had to floor gas pedal to get any movement after stoplights. Now makes buzzing-screaming noise every time it starts, in neutral or otherwise. Nissan dealer says $4,000 for repair. I'm 67, on fixed income and still making payments!

After driving on the highway for about 70 miles or 1 hr i lost complete acceleration although cruise control was engaged. I disengaged cruise but was not able to accelerate. I pulled off the highway, and coasted to a safe spot. I shut the car off for a bit and then it resumed normal driving. This occurred on multiple occasions during my trip from west palm to orlando and on the return trip.

Driving on highway, 65-70 mph, ambient temp about 89 degrees, vehicle has no acceleration, slows to about 45 mph, high pitched whining noise. Manage to get off of highway, after slowing traffic and pull to side of highway. Turned car off, sat by side of highway for an hour plus, started car, turned around and made it home -- about 30 miles -- in about an hour and a half, due to re-occurrence of issue. No lights came on. No warning, just loss of acceleration and inability to keep up with traffic.

Vehicle starts running hot after on interstate for approx. 30 min, temp will return to normal if heater is being ran on high. Diagnosis was thermostat needed to be replaced. Vehicle runs hot after thermostat was changed. While on interstate for approx. An hour vehicle still running warm. Temp returns to normal while heater is on high. While on cruise control rpms increased suddenly to 4500 with a speed of 70. Slowed down to 60 and rmps continued to climb to 4500 until i pulled over on the side of the road.Torque converter clutch solenoid failing. Temp fix, sprayed connection cleaner on torque converter clutch solenoid, rpms are still slightly elevated from normal, but manageable for now.

The airbag light continues to flash all the time and will not go off. I would assume this means there is a defect in the air bag.

Car did not accelerate when i pressed the accelerator pedal while i was driving on the highway after about 2 hours driving. This happened with no apparent reason and without any warning. It was very dangerous as i was driving on the left lane and had to cross for lanes in order to stop on the side. Several minutes later, after letting the car to rest, the malfunction indicator light was turned on. After few more minutes the accelerator pedal returned working.

I own a 2013 nissan rogue with the cvt (continuous variable transmission). While driving along the highway the car looses the ability to accelerate, the engine begins to whine and the rpm shoot way up high. For example: while traveling 75 mph on the highway all of a sudden the card stops accelerating and as if you have taken you foot completely off the gas pedal you are now doing 60 mph, but in reality you gas pedal if pushed all the way to the floor. Nissan is selling defective vehicles in such a way that makes them prone to failure while the car is being driven. As a result, people are being injured and are afraid for their lives. Some are loosing their only source of traveling, which in turns costs them their job. The car does not overheat but when the weather is warmer, the problem is more common. If i am understanding correctly...The transmission fluid must cool down in order for the car to be able to accelerate normally. My 2013 rogue originally had the above described problem in 2016 and nissan covered the repair of the problem. Yesterday, 4/5/2019, marks the initial reoccurrence of the same problem with the car suddenly not being able to accelerate on the highway. Because my car has just under 120,000 miles on it, the dealership is claiming that it is no longer covered under warranty and that i am responsible for not only diagnosing the problem (for a fee) but also responsible for repairing the vehicle.

The door lock system makes a loud noise when locking at about fifteen miles per hour and also makes this startling noise when i lock it with the key fob after i park the vehicle.

Hi, i have a 2013 nissan rogue. The tpms light came on while on the freeway. Its not going off even after adjusting the tire pressure to the correct value many times. I had the same issue when i purchased the vehicle, that time dealer adjusted it. Now the dealership is asking for $150 to rectify that

While traveling back from the east coast, in the state of oklahoma the transmission went out on the vehicle. Was traveling on the interstate. Had to travel about 30 miles on the side of interstate to get to nearest town. Located a nissan dealership. Ending up paying thousands to get transmission fixed.

The passenger air bag light is on even though it has never been deployed. I have to replace my air now!
