• Recall 132228 [USA]: If the vehicle maintains its speed or accelerates despite attempts to deactivate the cruise control, there would be an increased risk of a crash.
  Chrysler (fca us llc) is recalling certain 2014-2018 dodge journey, charger and durango, ram 2500, 3500, 3500 cab chassis (more than 10,000lb), 4500 cab chassis and 5500 cab chassis, jeep cherokee and grand cherokee and chrysler 300, 2014-2019 ram 1500, 2015-2018 dodge challenger, 2015-2017 chrysler 200, 2016-2018 ram 3500 cab chassis (less than 10,000 lb), 2017-2018 chrysler pacifica and 2018 jeep wrangler vehicles. These vehicles are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging. If, when using cruise control, there is a short circuit within the vehicle's wiring, the driver may not be able to shut off the cruise control either by depressing the brake pedal or manually turning the system off once it has been engaged, resulting in either the vehicle maintaining its current speed or possibly accelerating.

  Chrysler (fca us llc) is recalling certain 2011-2015 dodge journey vehicles. In the affected vehicles, the driver's frontal air bag may unexpectedly deploy if the air bag wiring harness gets chafed within the steering wheel and short circuits.
  chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the air bag wiring within the steering wheel, replacing it if necessary. A protective cover will also be installed. • Recall 2017336 [Canada]: Airbag
  On certain vehicles, an electrical short could occur in the steering wheel wiring harness, which could result in an inadvertent deployment of the driver frontal airbag. Unintended airbag deployment, in a non-warranted (non-impact) situation, could startle the driver, which could result in a vehicle crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. In some instances, inadvertent deployment could cause minor injuries to vehicle occupants. Correction: dealers will inspect the steering wheel wiring and replace it as necessary. A protective covering will also be installed on the wiring harness.

  On certain vehicles, a defect may cause the transmission pump rotor to seize or break, resulting in a loss of transmission pressure. Correction: dealers will replace the transmission pump assembly.

Correction: dealers will replace the return side power steering lines with new parts that are validated for extreme cold weather performance.

  Certain vehicles may experience water wicking through the wire harness to the anti-lock brake system (abs) module, which may disable the abs and/or electronic stability control (esc) systems. Disabled abs and/or esc systems could increase the risk of a crash causing in injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will seal the ground eyelets with dual wall heat shrink, repair the wiring harness as required and replace the abs module as necessary.

  On certain vehicles equipped with a 2.4l engine, the engine cover could shift over time due to road vibrations. If the engine cover were to displace, it could result in the cover contacting the exhaust manifold, which could result in a fire, increasing the risk of injury and/or property damage. I had two separate incidences. The first one occurred at approximately 96,000 miles. I went to start my car and it wouldn’t start. To my knowledge nothing was left on inside to kill the battery. I got a jump start and when i started driving my car would get stuck in 2nd gear. It would sound like it was going fast but was barely driving. I took it to the dealership where they tested it and said it ran fine, no error codes or lights appeared. After that it drove fine until approximately 105,000. I was driving on the highway at about 75 miles per hour. All of a sudden the car stopped accelerating and i had to quickly pull off the side of the highway. I turned the car off and back on and it started driving just fine. I am scared to death of driving it now.

I was sitting in passenger seat talk to my family. Vehicle was in parking and the head rest popped open. Causing my head to jerk forward. No one touched head rest it just popped open.

I came out to my vehicle to find that the head rest had separated, in which the night before it was perfectly intact.

Driver seat headrest deployed. Thank god i was not in car when it happened. I noticed my head was uncomfortable driving when i looked i see it wide open!! I was not in a car accident or anything at all. I just got this vehicle july 2020! This is obviously a defect and a dangerous safety hazard!! Thank god my kids and i were not in vehicle. Transmission is consistently slipping on the upshift from 2nd to 3rd gear, there is no warning light coming on.

Knowing that certain models of journey are included in a steering lines problem mine is not but it's experience some weird issues when you turn right in the standing still mode it offers absolutely no assistance from the system. You start riding and then it's kind of normal.The pump is no leaking or making any weird noises, only when you attempt to turn right in the stand still position it makes a funny noise follow by no assistance whatsoever. Now there are broken pieces within the assembly and it will not close back! It now pushes my head forward while *dt consumer stated he reached out to dodge/chrysler dealership. Vehicle is not covered under warranty nor is there a recall for this issue.*jb

In the past 3 years, we have had to fix different cylinder misfires in the same engine. The first was done in 2017, the second july 2020, and we had the third misfire error code november 2020. This has been communicated to dodge, but not sure if a recall should be made for this, or if other have experienced the same. The most recent incident happened while driving. The engine began to stutter, thankfully i was able to make it home where as soon as i drove into the driveway it shut down.

Ive tried to put it back as stated in the owners manuel and it will not lock back in place. Ive called the dealership and this cost $500 or more to repair. Dodge needs to have a recall on this!!! If i would have been driving this could of caused me to get in an accident. This really needs to be investigated!!!

Both of the head rests in the front have deployed and the plastic piece that holds it in place has broken into pieces. Both happened while car was stationary.

While driving the vehicle in a wet parking lot the abs light and stability light came on and remained on. This has also affected the cruise control as well. There was a recall on dodge journeys from 2012-2015 for the same issue vin may need included in the recall.

All three warning lights remainder on while driving, with grinding/growling noise continued upon breaking till i reached my destination. I drove 32 miles from home to work. The headrest on the passenger seat had dislodged without any major force. The plastic that holds the bar has cracked leaving the headrest unable to secure back in place. The tiny bar that is locked into place with two plastic pieces are still intact and the two places that hold the bar has cracked off both sides. While my daughter was sitting in the back seat and she leaned on the headrest causing this to activate and hit my wife's head from the back while waiting for me in the car. *tr

The headrest on the passenger seat had dislodged without any major force. The plastic that holds the bar has cracked leaving the headrest unable to secure back in place. The tiny bar that is locked into place with two plastic pieces are still intact and the two places that hold the bar has cracked off both sides. The headrest deployed while driving with no impact. It is spring loaded and popped out very fast, it looks like plastic holding a doing back broke causing it to release, could have caused an accident

I hit my head on the steering wheel and side window . Air bag did not deploy hit my head pretty bad and my back and neck were in pain had to take off work and lost my only car and job . Went to therapy for a while my concern was why didn't the air bags deploy . The other cars air bags deployed. I had an eye witness and police report but i still loss the battle . Still paying for a car that doesn't work. Pls if u can help me resolve this it will be a big help. I still fill pain in my neck from the accident. As i was driving through a grocery parking lot, i remember taking my foot off of the accelerator to slow down and to make a right turn up an isle to go to a parking spot. When the weather turned cold the power steering was not working correctly. One day it was fine and the next it was difficult to turn when going at a low speed or reversing. It started out as only the right turn was difficult and the only way to get it to work is by accelerating. This makes turning difficult as well as parking. We checked the power steering fluid and it was low. Once it was filled it did not improve but the left side then became difficult to turn. It is still difficult to turn and has not been resolved.

The phone and bluetooth do not work. The touchscreen will not prompt to the next screen when you press "phone" and if you go into the settings menu, it does not register that you are selecting "phone/bluetooth." i have tried doing this when the vehicle is both moving and stationary.

When you are driving the car it doesn't matter the speed the car will turn off without any warning. Causing a dangerous and scary situation after you put in park and press the start button amd it will turn back on. Happened on 10/ 07/18 the first time replaced crankshaft sensor. It happened again on 10/18/19. I noticed journeys have this problem on almost all years models and i was going through the recals and inoticed that a majority of people complain or have the same problem about this sensor. Even though dodge is only recalling 2016 journeys because of this problem. I think dodge should do a recall for all of the years for dodge journeys over thos problem and its extremely dangerous for the car to just turn off without warning. That being a family car that could lead to an accident.

I put the category as "unknown" because i dont know what exactly it falls under besides stupidity. My car began over heating last week. That was frustrating on top of all of the other problems including the constant jerking from the crap abs system. I put radiator fluid in and 2 days later, it began smoking like crazy. At least, what i thought was smoke. Apparently what it actually was, was the t shaped house that leads to the radiator and is run right along side the heating coil is made of plastic. The heating coil had melted a hole in it, causing the radiator fluid to spray on everything under the hood. We go and fix that, by the way, $80 for a 5 inch piece of hose is insane, and come back, car works for 2 days and dies. Battery is dead. Take the battery off and go replace it, get it on the car, start it, boom, starter goes out. One thing after another. I'm taking it to trade in and will never buy another dodge. There was no risk in that anyway after the dealership never wanting to honor a single warranty detail even though it was supposedly "ground up".

While turning the vehicle the car completely stops having power. Car stalls out but still shows vehicle is running, air still works etc. No warning lights on the dash at all. . After turning the vehicle off and putting the vehicle back in park vehicle starts right back up. Still no warnings or a check engine light. No other mechanical issues with vehicle.

When it rains the abs, traction control lights and service all wheel drive lights come on and the cruise control does not work . Next day soon as i drive all lights go out.It is happening more and more..Thier is a recall for 2015 dodge journey for this but they say not for mine.Funny that i have same problems and same year car. This happens when driving in the rain or wet roads.

Air conditioning comes on by itself , gas runs out too fast

The head rest on my passenger side just popped off and needs to be replaced. It seems that the plastic breaks so easily. Also the plastic parts on the side of the two front seats break and crack so easy. On my car it's hanging in by a single piece.

Tl* the contact owns a 2015 dodge journey. While driving approximately 25 mph on wet pavement, all the warning indicators on the instrument panel illuminated and the brakes locked. The contact pulled over to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who determined that the anti-lock brake system module and hydraulic control assembly were damaged and needed replacement. The vehicle was towed to dave dennis chrysler/dodge/jeep (4232 colonel glenn hwy, dayton, oh 45431) where it was determined that water entered the anti-lock brake system and shorted the abs module and hydraulic control assembly, which needed replacement. The contact also received a recall notification for nhtsa campaign number: 15v675000 (electronic stability control, service brakes, hydraulic). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

Precisely on 7.3.19 i had 4 of my children with me heading to a holiday parade. My car w/o warning completely stopped in the middle of a road. No power, no brakes, no steering. Air was still blowing; radio still playing. My daughter and i pushed my car to the curb, my husband came and pushed my car further to avoid an accident. After several attempts the car restarted and restarted fine. Drove another .5 city block; stopped at a stop sign, pulled out and my car died again in the middle of the intersection. My husband was still behind me & pushed us out. We drove home. He looked under the hood, nothing stood out. I didn't get any warnings on the dash. The car has driven fine until 7.5.19. My daughter and i just turned onto calumet ave; a very busy and dangerous road and my car died again. Several cars flying around us laying on their horn. I do not have power to turn, to brake. My daughter and i got out and push my car into a parking lot that has a slight uphill entrance. It was not easy, it was dark outside. A very dangerous situation. I can only flip my hazard lights on, well what does that do when a car is flying up behind me at 40-50mph? I am terrified my car is going to die and my family and i are going to get seriously hurt and/or killed. Reading on the internet there seems to be many people with the same issue and dodge is not responding. I have children who require trips to indianapolis for medical issues and it is a 3-4 hour drive for us. Speed limit is 70. I cannot afford to trade this in and purchase a new car. I do not where else to go for help. If you call a mechanic or the dealership they tell you that can't help without looking at it. Dodge dealer denies ever hearing of it before which i don't believe. Neither of course will do a free inspection. I get it they're there to make money. Recall should be issued to fix this before it becomes deadly.

While driving the air conditioning automatically comes on. I was driving to work on a residential street, decided to open the window even though it was 8:30am and it was already 95 degrees outside here in vegas. Didn't get out of my complex before the air conditioner came on by itself. Also with the air conditioner on, my car seems to run higher in idle and while driving it seems to double step when braking and coming to a stop. It does like a small jerk in acceleration coming to a stop.

The tracemission will not pull and the car shuts down as your driving it. This starting happing the first day i got the ride witch was 6/28/2019 i took it back to the dealer with was tim short of south williamson ky they gave me a rental the motor blow up in it on 7/28 /2019 then i they come and took that rental and gave me another one then after about two months i got my dodge journey back and now the transmation is going out again and it's just shuting down as you drive it,.
