  Hyundai motor america (hyundai) is recalling certain 2015-2016 genesis, 2017-2019 genesis g80, genesis g90, and 2019 genesis g70 vehicles. Water may enter the starter solenoid and cause an electrical short, which can result in an engine compartment fire while parked or driving.

  On certain vehicles equipped with a manual parking brake, the electrical switch which illuminates the parking brake warning light in the instrument cluster could become corroded. This could result in the parking brake warning light intermittently not illuminating when the parking brake is applied. A failure of the parking brake indicator to illuminate when the parking brake is applied can result in a driver misapplication of the parking brake, which may cause the following conditions: effect on vehicle acceleration, parking brake noise and/or parking brake “drag” and smoke and/or smell from driving with the applied parking brake.   On certain vehicles equipped with the optional 7 inch lcd instrument cluster, there could be communication errors between the audio, visual, and navigation (avn) head unit and cluster. This could lead to the following symptoms: all warning lights illuminating, inaccurate speedometer/tachometer readings, no cluster illumination, turn signal indicators not illuminating when turn signals are activated and possibly a momentarily inoperative instrument cluster.   The office of defects investigation (odi) has received eight hyundai motor america (hyundai) and eight kia america, inc. (kia) part 573 recall reports between 2016 and 2023. The combined 16 safety recalls all involve the antilock braking system (abs) modules or hydraulic electronic control units (hecu) manufactured by the equipment supplier mando. The part 573 recall reports contain varying defect descriptions and differing remedy descriptions for the same or similar equipment supplied by mando. Safety recalls included in this audit query (aq) review include: hyundai recalls 20v-520, 20v-543, 21v-161, 21v-160, 21v-303, 22v-056, 22v-810, and 23v-651. 1.Engine will not shut off when vehicle in park. Had to disconnect battery. There was no warning. 2. Lkas warning light remains on. 3. Caution light remains on on the dash. 4. Anti-braking system highlights when immediate car in front of me makes a turn without me being close to it. The first thing the dealer asks is do i have extended warranty! They stated they couldn't get to the repair until maybe thursday. I'm really afraid to drive my car.

The auto light position turns from automatic to fully off when driving randomly. This is a big safety hazard as you lose function of headlights temporarily.

Vehicle rear driver-side door will not open from inside or outside when handles are pulled. Leaves left rear seat inaccessible and unable to quickly egress the vehicle in case of accident, fire etc.

As a result, the vehicle rear-ended another vehicle. The contact stated that all of the electrical features in the vehicle failed. The air bags did deploy. A police report was filed. The contact sustained chest burns from the air bag and a sore back and neck from the crash. The vehicle was not drivable and was towed to an impound lot. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. This issue has started with my car stalling out in a parking lot sitting idle. The car just turned off. I restarted the car and it turned off again. After this happened i have noticed turning my car on its slow - like the battery is dieing. I went to hyundai to get a diagostic test and nothing came up and they could not duplicate the car turning over slowly. Since then my car is still slow to start - "sometimes" . Now, i can go out and if i have to make several stops - it is garanteed to start slow and get stuck with the auto brake on - which you can not release. I have a picture of the dashboard and a video of what happens when i drive - no rpm. This is causing me not to drive this car - i use to be a very happy hyundai genesis owner.
