• Recall 145308 [USA]: An inflator explosion may result in sharp metal fragments striking the driver or other occupants resulting in serious injury or death.
  Mazda north american operations (mazda) is recalling certain 2007-2012 cx-7, cx-9, and 2009-2012 maza6 vehicles. These vehicles had their passenger frontal air bag inflators previously replaced under a prior recall using inflators of the same design. The inflators may explode due to propellant degradation occurring after long-term exposure to high absolute humidity, temperature and temperature cycling.
  mazda will notify owners, and dealers will replace the front passenger air bag inflator with an alternate one, free of charge. The recall began december 3, 2019. Owners may contact mazda customer service at 1-800-222-5500, option 4. Mazda's number for this recall is 1317f. Note: this recall supersedes recalls 16v356 and 17v012.

• Recall 102142 [USA]: Negative pressure could cause the fuel tank to crack resulting in a fuel leak, increasing the risk of a fire.
  Mazda north america operations (mazda) is recalling certain model year 2010-2012 mazda6 vehicles manufactured september 14, 2009, through may 2, 2011, and equipped with 2.5l engine. In the affected vehicles, spiders may weave a web in the evaporative canister vent hose, blocking it and causing the fuel tank to have an excessive amount of negative pressure.
  mazda will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the powertrain control module and inspect and clean the canister vent line. If a web was found in the line, the fuel tank and check valve on canister vent line will be replaced. These repairs will be done free of charge. The recall began on april 30, 2014.   Issue: the front cross-member may rust due to a manufacturing defect. This could affect handling and cause reduced steering control. Note: this problem only affects cars registered and operated in areas of heavy road salt usage during winter months (ontario, quebec, new brunswick, nova scotia, prince edward island, and newfoundland & labrador), safety risk: reduced handling and steering control could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective actions: mazda will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their car to a dealership to inspect the front cross-member and install a drain hose. Depending on its condition, the dealer will install a reinforcement and a wax coating, or replace the front cross-member. Note: this is an expansion of recall 2018-504.

• Recall 2018597 [Canada]: Airbag
  On certain vehicles, long-term exposure to high absolute humidity and temperature, combined with high temperature cycling, could eventually degrade the propellant contained in the passenger frontal airbag. This could cause the airbag to deploy with more force than normal. As a result, if the vehicle were involved in a collision that warrants airbag deployment, fragments could be propelled toward vehicle occupants, and the airbag assembly could be damaged, preventing proper function. These issues could increase the risk of injury. Correction: dealers will replace the passenger frontal airbag inflator. Note: canadian climate results in the propellant degrading slowly. The recall is being conducted as a precaution to address future risk, and is expected to replace airbag inflators before their function would be affected. Additional note: this is an expansion of recall 2018-040.

• Recall 2014075 [Canada]: Fuel supply
  On certain vehicles equipped with the 2.5l engine, a particular type of spider may weave a web in the evaporative canister vent line which may cause a restriction in the line. If this occurs, the fuel tank pressure may become excessively negative when the emission control system works to purge the vapors from the canister. As the canister is purged repeatedly during normal operation, the stress on the fuel tank may eventually result in a crack causing a fuel leak. Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: dealers will inspect the canister vent line and, if a web is found, the fuel tank and check valve on the canister vent line will be replaced. The powertrain control module (pcm) will be reprogrammed with modified software having a function to avoid excessive negative pressure of the fuel tank.

  On certain vehicles, door latch screws could loosen over time, causing the door(s) to fail to latch when closed and illuminating the door ajar warning light. Rear control arm broke off the rear subfame due heavy rust. I had to replace the entire rear subframe plus both control arms. This incident occurred while i was driving! Now i find out that the front end is shot as well and that mazda is only recalling the front subframe and not the rear and i want to know why. Somebody could have been killed. The repair cost me $700 plus rental fees for a vehicle. I had my vehicle in the shop for 16days. It cost me $1,135. I have the invoices.

The vehicle was taken to the local dealer north penn mazda (181 bethlehem pike, colmar, pa 18915, (267)956-1160) where it was diagnosed with needing the underbody to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired as of yet. Upon investigation, the contact associated the failure with nhtsa campaign number: 19v323000 (structure, suspension) however, the vin was not included. The manufacturer was informed of the failure and informed the contact that they were unable to provide assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 88,259.

Headlight on both sides go out often. After having this issue far too many times, i looked online hoping to find a solution and discovered multiple mazda owners are having same problem. Its a malfunction in the mazda that needs to be fixed by mazda this happened ever since i bought the car in 2011 i had to replace the headlight bulbs twice a year at least .

Within a few miles, it became difficult to control, and then the dynamic stability control off and traction loss lights came on. Upon inspection at an auto repair shop, the right front side of the frame had severely rusted. I was advised that it was unsafe to drive. There was no other rust or damage on the vehicle.
