• Recall 244938 [USA]: Low turn signal visibility may not alert other drivers to a turning vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
  Mack trucks, inc. (mack) is recalling certain 2015-2023 gu and gr vehicles. The turn signals may be positioned incorrectly, reducing their visibility. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard number 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment."
  dealers will add additional turn signal lighting, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters informing owners of the safety risk were mailed october 12, 2023. • Recall 229216 [USA]: A vehicle that drifts out of its lane increases the risk of a crash.
  Mack trucks, inc. (mack) is recalling certain 2018-2022 anthem (an), granite (gr/gu), and pinnacle (chu/cxu/pi) vehicles equipped with "camelback" rear suspension and electronic stability control. The vehicles may not stay in their lane at certain speeds. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 136, "electronic stability control systems on heavy vehicles."

• Recall 136275 [USA]: Rapid tire air loss can increase the risk of a crash.
  Mack trucks, inc. (mack) is recalling certain 2019 mack granite (gr), lr, and terrapro (te) trucks, equipped with bridgestone m854 tires with dot date codes 2418-2518, bridgestone m860a tires with dot date code 2518 or bridgestone m864 tires with dot date codes 2318-2418, all of size 425/65r22.5. The sidewall steel body cords may be exposed, possibly causing unexpected, rapid air loss while driving. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 119, "new pneumatic tires - other than passenger cars."

  Mack trucks, inc. (mack) is recalling certain 2019 mack anthem (an), granite (gr), and pinnacle (pi) vehicles. The pinch bolt on the upper steering shaft may not have been tightened, possibly resulting in the steering shaft separating and causing a loss of steering.

• Recall 136340 [USA]: The driver may operate the vehicle with the snow plow headlights on but the marker and tail lamps off, reducing the vehicle's visibility and increasing the risk of a crash.

The snow plow headlights can be turned on without other exterior lights, and high beam indicator will not work when the snow plow high beams are on. • Recall 2021124 [Canada]: Lights and instruments
  Issue: on certain trucks, when the manual override is used to switch off the daytime running lamps (drls), the lights may not turn on again when you start driving. Canadian regulations require that if drls are manually turned off, they must turn on again when you start driving. Safety risk: driving without daytime running lights could make the vehicle less visible to others and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective actions: mack will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer to update the vehicle software.

• Recall 2020551 [Canada]: Structure
  Issue: on certain trucks, the welds that attach the trailer hitch may crack due to improper welding. As a result, the hitch could detach from the truck while towing a trailer. Note: this recall only affects certain trucks with trailer hitches installed by commercial truck equipment. Safety risk: a trailer that detaches from a truck could create a risk of a crash. Corrective actions: commercial truck equipment will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your truck to a dealer to inspect the trailer hitch and repair or replace it, as necessary. You should stop using the trailer hitch until the inspection and repair have been completed.

• Recall 2019037 [Canada]: Visual system
  Issue: on certain vehicles, the down-view mirror may detach from the passenger’s door. Safety risk: a mirror that falls from the vehicle could strike another vehicle or pedestrian. This may create the risk of an injury or crash. Corrective actions: the company will notify owners by mail. Owners will be instructed to take their vehicle to a dealer to secure the mirror. The dealer will add additional fasteners and a reinforcement plate as needed.

• Recall 2018641 [Canada]: Tires
  Certain trucks were equipped with bridgestone m864, m860a or m854 wide-base tires, size 425/65r22.5, that may not conform to the endurance testing requirements of canada motor vehicle safety standard (cmvss) 119 - tires for vehicles other than passenger cars. A manufacturing problem could cause a bulge or blister to be present in the sidewall of the tires. Over time, this could cause deterioration of the tire’s structure and lead to a sudden tire failure that may increase the risk of a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: dealers will inspect and replace affected tires as necessary.

• Recall 2018605 [Canada]: Lights and instruments
  Certain vehicles equipped with a snowplow preparation kit may fail to comply with the requirements of canada motor vehicle safety standard (cmvss) 108 - lighting system and retroreflective devices. The snowplow headlamps can be turned on without other exterior lights, and the high beam indicator does not work when the snowplow high beams are turned on, which is contrary to the requirements of the standard. This could allow the vehicle to be operated with the snowplow headlamps on and marker and tail lamps off, making the vehicle harder to see and potentially increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will update vehicle software to correct the non-compliance.

• Recall 2018603 [Canada]: Steering
  On certain vehicles, the pinch bolt connecting the upper steering shaft may not have been properly tightened during assembly. If the bolt were to loosen and come out, it could result in complete loss of steering, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will inspect and replace the pinch bolt on the upper steering shaft. If the bolt is found loose, the steering shaft splines will be inspected for abnormal wear and the steering shaft will be replaced as required.
