  • Recall 105096 [USA]: The vehicle may gradually accelerate due to the throttle chamber reopening. this unexpected acceleration may increase the risk of a crash.
Nissan north america, inc. (nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2014 infiniti m35 hybrid vehicles manufactured april 7, 2012, to september 9, 2013, 2014 infiniti q50 hybrid vehicles manufactured december 10, 2012, to july 15, 2014, and 2014-2015 infiniti q70 hybrid vehicles manufactured april 9, 2010, to may 7, 2014. Due to a software error, in the affected vehicles, if the signal is lost from one of the two throttle position sensors (tps), the engine control module (ecm) will go into a fail-safe mode, partially closing the throttle chamber. Should the lost signal be restored, the throttle chamber may open, regardless of the position signal from the tps.
nissan will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the ecm, free of charge. The recall began on november 10, 2014. Owners may contact nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.
owners may also contact the national highway traffic safety administration vehicle safety hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (tty 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.Safercar.Gov.

  • Recall 105498 [USA]: The damaged housings could crack and fracture, creating road debris and disabling the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Nissan north america, inc. (nissan) is recalling certain model year 2014 infiniti q50 hybrid vehicles manufactured october 16, 2013, to january 27, 2014, and infiniti q70 hybrid vehicles manufactured november 7, 2013, to december 10, 2013. • Recall 105609 [USA]: The stall-like condition that occurs when the electric motor stops working may increase the risk of a crash.
Nissan north america, inc. (nissan) is recalling certain model year 2014 infiniti q50 hybrid vehicles manufactured december 10, 2012, to june 25, 2014, and infiniti q70 hybrid vehicles manufactured november 7, 2013, to may 7, 2014. Due to a software error, the electric motor may stop working while the vehicle is being driven using the electric motor only.
nissan will notify owners, and dealers will reprogram the motor inverter software, free of charge. The recall began on november1, 2014. Owners may contact nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261.

  • Recall R/2014/121 [UK]: Under extreme circumstances transmission may detach
It has been identified that due to an issue during the casting process of the front of the transmission casing the casting may become cracked during the release phase of the operation. If the vehicle is driven at high speed in this condition the crack can grow and cause a vibration. In an extreme case the transmission may detach from the vehicle.
recall all affected vehicles to inspect the transmission casing for cracks and replace any transmission are found to be cracked.

  • Recall R/2014/122 [UK]: Unintended acceleration
It has been identified that under certain circumstances the throttle position sensor may send an error signal to the engine control module (ecm). As a result the ecm may not operate as intended and the vehicle may accelerate gradually without the driver operating the throttle pedal. However this acceleration can be overridden by application of the brakes.
recall all affected vehicles to install new software of the ecm.

  • Recall R/2016/170 [UK]: Engine may stall
If the water pump fails in the hybrid power train the mil will illuminate. The owner's manual informs the driver to take the vehicle to a dealership or the transmission could be compromised. However the engine logic will stop the engine after approximately five minutes of driving. As this would be an unexpected event the driver and occupants could be left in a dangerous situation.
recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and reprogram the ecu to enable a limp-home mode which will allow the vehicle to get to a dealership under reduced power.

  • Recall R/2014/120 [UK]: Vehicle may cut out
It has been identified that due to a software error the traction motor inverter may incorrectly diagnose communication between the inverter and the transmission control module (tcm). This can cause the inverter system to suddenly shut down. If the vehicle is being driven in electric vehicle (ev i.E. Engine off) the power to the electric motor may be cut resulting in the vehicle coming to a sudden stop.
recall all affected vehicles to install new software for the traction motor inverter control module.

  • Recall R/2015/027 [UK]: Oil may leak engine may stall
Due to insufficient sealing of the timing chain tensioner gasket the timing chain tensioner may loosen and an oil leak may occur from the engine. If t the vehicle continues to be driven engine oil could leak onto the road and the engine might stall due to low oil level. In an extreme case and in the presence of an ignition source there may be an increased risk of a fire.
on affected vehicles replace the timing chain tensioner gasket with new.

  • Recall 2014539 [Canada]: Fuel supply
On certain vehicles, the fuel pressure sensor connected to the engine fuel delivery rail may not have been sufficiently tightened during vehicle assembly. Should the pressure sensor loosen, fuel could leak past a gasket used in the connection between the sensor and the rail. Fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: dealers will inspect the pressure sensor and tighten to specification. Note: this is an expansion of recall 2012-074. Vehicles that were repaired under the previous campaign are not affected because that remedy would have corrected the subject condition.

  • Recall 2014415 [Canada]: Powertrain
On certain hybrid vehicles, a defect in engine control module programming could cause a gradual throttle increase without driver input, which could cause vehicle speed to increase. This could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will update vehicle software. Note: applying the brake would allow the vehicle to be slowed or stopped.

To ensure accuracy and for your safety, it is recommended to do a free VIN recall check here or here [USA] - UK - Canada.

Nhtsa received a petition on or about july 18, 2022, requesting that federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) 141 be applied to all electric and hybrid vehicles operating in the united states. The petition can be reviewed at nhtsa.Gov under odi number 11486072.Fmvss 141 establishes performance requirements for pedestrian alert sounds for motor vehicles. The standard applies to hybrid and electric vehicles that have a gross vehicle weight rating of 4,536 kg or less or are defined as low-speed vehicles. The standard became fully applicable to all such vehicles manufactured on or after march 1, 2021.The petitioner asserts that hybrid and electric vehicles to which the standard does not apply should be found to contain a safety defect. In support of the petition, the petitioner includes findings contained in a bill introduced in the house of representatives in 2009, the pedestrian safety enhancement act of 2009, h.R. 734, 111th cong. (2009). A related bill, the pedestrian safety enhancement act of 2010, became law in january 2011 (pub. L. 111-373). The petitioner requests that nhtsa require all electric and hybrid vehicles comply with fmvss 141, regardless of production date. The defect petition has been opened to evaluate the issue and determine whether to grant or deny the petition. The associated product list is not exhaustive and may contain vehicles that are equipped with pedestrian alert sounds.
