• Recall 151497 [USA]: An unrestrained occupant has an increased risk of injury in the event of a crash.
  Mitsubishi motors north america, inc. (mmna) is recalling certain 2014-2019 outlander and 2018-2019 outlander phev vehicles. The second-row center seat belt buckle may interfere with the right-side seat belt buckle when the seat backs are folded down. The interference may cause the right-side seat belt buckle cover to come off, making the buckle latch inoperable and unable to restrain an occupant.
  mmna will notify owners, and dealers will modify the second-row center seat belt buckle cover, install a new warning label to the second-row seat support base, and provide a new warning label insert for the owner's manual, free of charge. • Recall 141033 [USA]: If the parking brake actuator shaft binds, the parking brake may not engage or disengage fully. if the parking brake does not engage properly, the vehicle may move unexpectedly if it is parked on a slope, increasing the risk of a crash.
  Mitsubishi motors north america, inc. (mmna) is recalling certain 2014-2016 outlander and 2013-2016 outlander sport vehicles. Water may enter the rear brake calipers causing the parking brake actuator shafts to corrode and possibly bind.
  mmna will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the rear brake calipers and replace the parking brake boot and lever or the brake caliper body, as necessary. Dealers will also replace the piston assembly of the rear brake caliper. These repairs will be performed free of charge. The recall is expected to begin march 27, 2018.   Due to improper sealing of parking brake caliper shaft boots water might penetrate inside and rust the shaft. As the result of continuous use the rust will erode into the internal caliper and the shaft becomes stuck causing decreased parking brake force. Due to improper manufacturing process automatic adjuster for brake pad clearance of rear brake caliper might not work properly. As the result as brake pad wear the clearance is not correctly adjusted and brake force becomes insufficient to hold a vehicle. In the worst case scenario parking brake will not work even though a lever is fully operated and parked vehicle may move.
  anti-rust coating (fluorine) has been applied to parking brake shaft from 27/01/2016 supplied parts & the inspection process for the caliper has been changed from 14/12/2014 supplied parts.

  The internal combustion engine may not operate correctly. Dtc?S will be generated the engine-warning lamp will illuminate and the combination meter will display a message. In the worst case the internal combustion engine will fail to start and charge the main traction battery. If the warnings are ignored the main traction battery will become depleted and the vehicle will lose all drive.

  Issue: on certain vehicles, the seat belt buckle for the right seat in the second-row could be damaged when the seats are folded down. This can cause the seat belt buckle cover to come off. If this happens, the seat belt may not latch properly. Safety risk: a seat belt that does not latch properly could create an increased risk of injury in a crash. Corrective actions: mitsubishi will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to modify the center seat belt buckle in the second seating row. I went to go turn on my car when i got out of work and when i put the vehicle on drive and pressed the gas pedal the car would not move when the gas pedal was pressed! So i turned off the car and turned the car back on and put the car on drive and pressed the gas pedal and the car revved up and moved a little with hesitation. So i put the car on reverse and pressed the gas pedal and car would rev up but not move! So i turned off the car and turned it back on again and put it in reverse again and pressed the gas pedal again and the car moved but with hesitation and with not a lot of force! So i leave the car at my workplace and get the car towed to my house the next day! I call the dealer because my mechanic seen there was a recall with the vehicle hesitating to move and i gave them my vin number and the dealer told me there's nothing they could do because my vehicle wasn't on the recall list ! They also told me that to replace the transmission it was going to cost about $8000. My vehicle only has 114000 miles i shouldn't be having this problem! So now i'm stuck with a car that needs a new transmission/power train !

The vehicle was taken to fuccillo mitsubishi located at 18822 us-11, watertown, ny 13601, and the contact was informed that there was no recall subjected to the vin. The contact referenced nhtsa campaign number: 16v867000 (structure) and stated that the failure was exactly what the recall addressed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall and referred the contact to the nhtsa. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 128,000.

This happens almost all the time - when driving at city street speed of 25 mph and under my car shakes so much and does not accelerate and feels like it is going to shut down. On 3 occasions i was rear ended because of this and one time was with a huge sanitation truck with my children inside the car. I have taken this car to the dealer and the mitsubishi dealer to be looked at and help to no avail it still does it. I have reported this to mitsubishi motors and was given a case number but to date no one has contacted me nor helped me. I am scared for the safety of my family and myself - it is a very scary situation and i just bought this car about a year ago. Help me because no one else does.

Transmission failure. Needs to be replaced completely.

My 2015 outlander was just inspected a week prior to this happening. My wife was driving the car on the highway and the vehicle would not exceed 50 mph. The gas light was blinking on the dash but was full . While she's on the highway off ramp the car shuts down. She restarts it but it won't go into gear. Stuck in the park position. Now the car is in the shop and they say it's computer failure . @60,000 miles? I just find it funny that's how long of a warranty they give to you
