• Recall 104969 [USA]: If the key is not in the run position, the air bags may not deploy if the vehicle is involved in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
  This defect can affect the safe operation of the airbag system. Until this recall is performed, customers should remove all items from their key rings, leaving only the ignition key. The key fob (if applicable), should also be removed from the key ring. General motors llc (gm) notified the agency on july 2, 2014 that they are recalling 554,328 model year 2003-2014 cadillac cts vehicles manufactured august 16, 2001, to april 28, 2014, and 2004-2006 cadillac srx vehicles manufactured march 20, 2003, to august 11, 2006. In these models, the weight on the key ring and/or road conditions or some other jarring event may cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position, turning off the engine.
  gm will notify owners, and dealers will install two key rings and an insert in the key slot or a cover over the key head on all ignition keys, free of charge.   Gm is recalling 17,301 my 2004 cadillac srx vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission. • Recall 34351 [USA]: If the control arm separates from the knuckle, the affected corner of the vehicle will drop and the control arm would be forced downward, contacting the wheel. the affected wheel could tilt outward and create a dragging action that would tend to slow the vehicle and create a tendency for the vehicle to turn in the direction of the affected wheel. in extreme situations, the affected wheel assembly could separate from the vehicle. separation of the wheel assembly would also sever that wheel;s hydraulic brake hose and result in diminished braking performance of the vehicle, which could result in a crash.
  On certain passenger vehicles involved in this campaign, the lower control arm ball stud nut/washer assemblies with washers were made of the wrong material. The washers may fracture and become loose or fall away from the vehicle, reducing clamp load. Separation of the control arm ball stud and steering knuckle, due to disengagement of the tapered attachment and retaining nut, is possible.
  dealers will inspect the ball stud joints and measure the torque of the nut for all front lower control arms in all models affected as well as the rear lower control arms on the xlr and corvette. If the torque is not at specification, the dealers will replace the ball stud, the knuckle, and the nut. If the torque is at specification, the dealers will replace the nut/washer assembly only. • Recall 62286 [USA]: In some crash conditions, the seat could pivot rearward and its occupant or a rear seat occupant could be injured more severely.
  Certain passenger and sport utility vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 207, "seating systems." one or both front anchor tabs for the front bucket seats are not engaged in the floor pan reinforcement slots. A seat with only one tab engaged or neither engaged would not meet the static rearward loading test requirements of the standard.

  It has been identified that if the key ring carries additional weight and the vehicle experiences any extreme road conditions for instance off road or harsh events then the keys can rotate away from the run position on the ignition switch. This will result in the loss of engine power and associated function. Also the air bags will not deploy if the vehicle is involved in a collision.

  On certain vehicles, there is a risk that some drivers may bump the ignition key with their knee and unintentionally move the key from out of the "run" position. If this were to occur, engine power, power braking and power steering would be affected, which would unexpectedly increase steering and brake pedal effort, potentially increasing stopping distances and the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. The timing of the key movement out of the "run" position, relative to the activation of the sensing algorithm of the crash event, may also result in the airbags not deploying in a subsequent collision, increasing the risk of injury. Correction: dealers are to remove the key blade from the original flip key/transmitter assemblies provided with the vehicle, and provide two new keys and two key rings for every original key. Important note: until the correction is performed, drivers should adjust their seat and steering column to allow clearance between their knee and the ignition key.

  Certain vehicles were produced with lower control arm ball stud nut/washer assemblies with washers made of the wrong steel material. The washers may fracture and become loose or fall away from the vehicle, reducing clamp load. • Sunroof glass failure investigation # EA06001

  Odis investigation of the cadillac srx glass roof did not identify any defective manufacturing process, design, or quality control issue with the srx glass roof system.Gm believes that the most likely cause of breakage is stone or sharp object impact against the glass.The investigation included a peer multi-vehicle analysis.That analysis found that other vehicles with large glass roof systems experience random stone/object impacts and broken glass panels.The incident rate for the subject vehicles did not stand out in this analysis.The srx ultraview power glass roof consists of up to three tempered glass panels surrounded by metal trim around the perimeter of the roof structure.The main front panel is a large movable glass panel residing over the first and second row occupants.The middle non-movable panel is not accessible from the inside.The rear non-movable panel is an optional panel (ultraview plus option) and is viewable from the inside.A safety-related defect has not been identified at this time and further use of agency resources does not appear to be warranted.Accordingly, this investigation is closed.The closing of this investigation does not constitute a finding by nhtsa that a safety-related defect does not exist.The agency will monitor this issue and reserves the right to take further action if warranted by the circumstances.See summary report for additional information.

• Sun roof glass failure investigation # PE05052

  Of the 17 complaints, there were 9 injury incidents resulting in 19 individuals being injured.The injuries consist of cuts and scrapes to occupants face, arm, hand or leg.Some injuries were the direct result of the falling glass fragments while other injuries occurred when occupants were exiting the vehicle or while handling the glass fragments.In addition, there were five warranty claims related to the issue for a total of 22 reports.Gm has not identified any manufacturing process or quality control issue with the movable sun roof/moon roof glass panel.They believe the most likely cause of the breakage is random stone or sharp debris impact to the glass roof structure.Odis analysis indicates that the number of incidents will continue to increase as my 2006 vehicles are sold and put into service.The evidence indicates that the broken glass fragments will fall directly onto both the front and middle row seat occupants of these vehicles.These occurrences may pose a risk of driver distraction and/or occupant injury.This investigation is being upgraded to an engineering analysis (ea06-001) to further assess this matter and will include my 2006 srx vehicles.

Ran out of gas after putting gas in the car tried to start it and the ignition got stuck and continued to try to start on its own i had to pull the back to the off position i tried to start it again and it would not start and the lights on the dash and the radio control center did not come on. And car will not even try to start before this the car had been cutting off while driving down the road for no reason and it kept showing a check stability control warning and low tire pressure even though tires were not low at all

A "service stability system" warning pops up on the screen directly afterwards and a loud warning sound constantly rings through the car until you stop the vehicle and turn it off for a few minutes. Driving the car again repeats the same problem. Research of the issue shows that many owners of this vehicle have the same issue and upon inspection at the mechanic, most are not given a solution. Some blogs say replacing the "steering wheel sensor" has solved their problem however i have replaced the sensor along with the entire steering power steering rack, brakes, tires, and several other parts and in a year i am still having the same problem every single time i drive. This is dangerous and the company needs to recall and investigate the issue before someone is seriously hurt.
