• Recall 112050 [USA]: If the frontal passenger air bag deploys in the event of a crash when a child seat is installed in the front passenger seat, there will be an increased risk of injury to the child in the crs.
  Nissan north america, inc. (nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2016 sentra vehicles manufactured june 4, 2012, to april 9, 2016. The front passenger seat belt bracket may become deformed if it is used to secure a child restraint system (crs). The deformed seat bracket may cause the occupant classification system (ocs) to incorrectly classify the installed crs, resulting in the front passenger air bag to not be turned off as designed when a crs is in the seat.
  nissan will notify owners, and dealers will reinforce the seat belt bracket as well as reprogram the air bag control unit (acu) and ocs electronic control unit (ecu), free of charge. As a result of long-term storage, there could be insufficient compression strength of the coolant within the inflator housing of the passenger's frontal airbag, which may cause the airbag to fail to deploy properly in the event of a crash (where deployment is warranted), which could increase the risk of injury to the front passenger occupant. Correction: dealers will replace the passenger's frontal airbag inflator. Note: this is an expansion of recall 2017-215.

  On certain vehicles, a defect in the occupant classification system could allow an adult sitting in the front passenger seat to be classified as a child or an “empty seat”. This would suppress the airbag, which could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Correction: for affected altima, maxima, murano, rogue and sentra vehicles, dealers will reprogram the airbag control unit and the occupant classification system control unit. For affected leaf, nv200, pathfinder, q50 and jx35/qx60 vehicles, dealers will replace the occupant classification system electronic control unit.

• Recall 2016178 [Canada]: Seats and restraints
  On certain vehicles, installing a child seat in the front passenger seat could deform the seat belt bracket. This could cause the occupant classification system (ocs) sensor to fail to detect the installed child seat. In the event of a crash, the airbag would not be suppressed which would increase the risk of injury. Correction: dealers will reinforce the seatbelt bracket and update both the air bag control unit and electronic control unit.

• Recall 2015491 [Canada]: Airbag
  Certain vehicles serviced as part of recall 2014-093 or which had the occupant classification system (ocs) module replaced during servicing may have been fitted with an incorrect replacement ocs module. An incorrect ocs module would impair the effectiveness of the ocs, potentially failing to properly classify an adult passenger seated in the front passenger seat. This could increase the risk of injury to the occupant in a crash. Correction: dealers will reprogram the ocs module.

  On certain vehicles, the front passenger seat occupant classification system software may incorrectly classify the passenger seat as empty, when it is occupied by an adult. If this occurs, the passenger airbag would be deactivated without the illumination of the airbag warning lamp. Failure of the passenger airbag to deploy during a crash (where deployment is warranted) could increase the risk of injury to the seat occupant. Correction: dealers will reprogram the occupant classification system.

• Excessive brake pedal travel investigation as of 20140520

  On may 20, 2014, odi opened pe14-014 based on eight complaints alleging incidents of excessive brake pedal travel in model year (my) 2013 through 2014 nissan sentra, versa sedan and versa note passenger cars (figure 1) and information in early warning reporting field reports indicating issues with master cylinder internal seals.In response to an information request letter sent by odi, nissan identified a condition with the master cylinder in early production subject vehicles that could result in a slow internal leak past one of the recuperating seals to the brake reservoir when the brake pedal is depressed very slowly or lightly (figure 2).The subject vehicles are equipped with fixed seal master cylinders supplied by trw.To address concerns with water hammer noise with the standard seal design, the master cylinders in the early production subject vehicles used awh (anti-water hammer) seals.The awh seals are sensitive to contamination from assembly plant cleanliness issues, which can produce the internal leak condition during slow or light brake applies but perform as designed with normal or emergency brake applications.Trw indicated that the risk of contamination interacting with the subject seals is greatest after the evacuation and pressure fill process used to fill the brake system during the manufacturing process (early life issue).Trw developed a new master cylinder seal design (evo seal) that addresses the noise concern and eliminates the internal leak concern associated with contamination by providing a secondary seal (figure 3).Nissan implemented the new master cylinder design in vehicle production on september 23, 2013.Odis analysis shows that the master cylinder warranty claim rate is much higher in vehicles produced before the change (figure 4).Statistical analysis showed that the condition is an early-life problem with relatively low failure rates projected through 100,000 miles and approximately 58 percent of the failures projected to occur by that mileage have already occurred (table 1).Warranty claims are highest (78% of claims) in vehicles with less than 10,000 miles (figure 5) and 50 percent of claims involved vehicles with less than 90 days in service (figure 6).Odi evaluated 22 crash claims that included allegations of master cylinder failure, sinking brake pedal or pedal to the floor (table 2).The analysis identified only three crashes in which a brake performance issue related to the master cylinder was duplicated by post-incident inspection, including one with a different problem than the seal leak issue (a broken plunger).The two crash complaints related to a possible master cylinder concern involved 1 vehicle with the awh seal and 1 with the evo seal.Both were minor crashes.The remaining crashes do not appear to be related to any issues with the master cylinder or other brake system fault.In the 4 crashes with event data recorderinformation available, the data indicated that the brakes were applied too late to avoid the collisions.These include 2 crashes with less than a half second of braking before impact and 2 in which brake applications lasting 1.0 to 2.5 seconds resulted in high decelerations consistent with fully functioning brake systems, but too late to avoid the collision.Overall, the rates of crashes adjusted for vehicle exposure (total vehicle years in service) do not show any correlation to the high warranty rates associated with the awh seal leak concern (table 3 & figure 7).Given these circumstances, further use of the agency resources in this matter does not appear to be warranted.Accordingly, this investigation is closed. The check engine light came on while on highway. Attempted to put vehicle in reverse in a busy parking lot but it would not shift. Car is a 2014 nissan sentra with only 73700 miles. Mechanic says the transmission is stuck in "fail mode". The car shuddered ever since it was purchased. Dealer suspects the transmission pump is failing.

Check engine light went on went to have it checked. A code of P17F0 came up. It's a cvt/transmission issue. My car won't accelerate upon hitting the gas and it jerks and shudders once i gain some speed. Rpms jump. At times my car seems to stall. I haven't driven it in week. Because i've been trying to get estimates on how much it would cost to fix. I only take this vehicle to and from work on regular streets. It's only a 15 minute drive.

Fuel pump failure at 75k miles. Resulted in vehicle sputtering, then stalling, dashboard lights going out and then turning back on with more than half a tank difference in the fuel reading, and then ran out of gas entirely. Brought to dealership who denied there being an open recalls on the vehicle ever, which is incorrect as i've already had to replace the transmission from a recall. The vehicle is completely unstable and is now also having problems holding brake fluid. Can't fill tank at the gas station either because refueling stops immediately every two seconds after turning on even if you physically hold it there... You continue to have to click it back on because the fuel is not accepted by the vehicle. This car should be recalled entirely. It is unsafe and has stranded me 3 times and repairs have been unreasonable. Nissan must take responsibility and issue recalls that will fix the issues free of charge. As of today i've been asked to invest another $3,000.00 to fix it, but it's worth less than that now.

We were driving and would lose power then going up hill it sounded like something popped off. We wouldn't even roll in neutral. It locked completely up and had to push it to break it free. Our machanic checked the fluid and said it was dark dark.

I have a 2014 nissan sentra. My vehicle start jerking and barely driving while on the road. I had it towed to a shop and they said it was cvt. Nissan have a judgement against them for a faulty cvt and required to honor to replace this with certain miles or 7 years. My car meet the total year and nissan refuse to pay. My car is currently at nissan and they email me a bill for 4,000. I don't feel nissan is owning up to the fact these transmission was built faulty and i can't afford nor should i have to pay for such. Please assist me with solving this issue. I only have one car and nissan must honor their judgement since it's been confirmed cvt for my vehicle

Please reference nhtsa issue 11383950 submitted dec 17, 2020. This is another issue related to the prior submitted dec 17th. On dec 26 the engine light came on. The car was taken to the dealer. The dealer asked if we had extended warranty, which we do not, and then took the car in for inspection. Please reference nhtsa issue 11383950 submitted dec 17, 2020. This is another issue related to the prior submitted dec 17th. On dec 26 the engine light came on. The car was taken to the dealer. The dealer asked if we had extended warranty, which we do not, and then took the car in for inspection. The hood was crushed in and bent upwards and was unable to be open to check for engine damage. There were no injuries and no police report was filed. The contact was able to drive the vehicle from the crash scene. None of the frontal air bags deployed with the collision. The other issue is yesterday i went to get dinner and all of a sudden the engine light came on. And my car doesn't even have 40,000 miles on it yet, i really hope writing to you about these things going wrong will open the nissan company's eyes before someone actually get killed driving one of their cars. Nissan does not explain why 7 years or 84000 miles were chosen as the cutline to provide coverage. If 7 years is the decided coverage, which is unsatisfactory for transmissions, the corresponding mileage should be 94500, not 84000 based on "the u.S. Department of transportation's federal highway administration states the average person drives around 13,500 miles every year.". Nissan must explain this coverage limits decision and extend the warranty period amid the pandemic to avoid negligence.

And the salesman went out of his way to tell me the trans lasts the life of the car. I purchased the extended warranty. Car just hit 104k miles. While taking it in for an oil change the receptionist told me the mechanic heard a noise and wanted me to consent to a $160 diagnostic. I said i don't hear a noise there aren't any lights on. Sure enough they told me the trans is bad and will cost me 4500 to replace. I owe $7900 on the car currently. No one would finance a car and expect the trans 2 go in 2 years. The car started acting up less than 5 days after visiting the dealership. It wont go over 50 mph its shaking badly. Its making whining noises and starts jerking. I drive on the highway every day. Im going to get slammed. The car is a death trap. I brought it to a private mechanic for a 2nd opinion. The car sometimes does not want to accelerate and other times i have taken my foot off the gas and the car continues at the same speed as if my foot was on the gas and at times, no matter how fast i try to go, the car will not accelerate past a certain speed. There is alot of hesitation for the car to go to the next gear. This happens to me as i am driving the vehicle to work on a main road.

After stopping, turning the car off and on again numerous times, was intermittently able to get the car to go faster than 6 mph only to have it suddenly slow down again, jerking within 1-2 minutes. It took one and a half hours to travel 16 miles back home. Not sure whats wrong...Transmission, speed sensors or other? I've gone online and seen other similar complaints. My husband was driving our nissan sentra 2014 on the highway to go to the airport when suddenly our car was going down the speed to 45 mph. It was dangerous because other cars were going to 65 mph and more. When we arrived in front of the parking lot. The car didn't go anymore. Like everyone else in the world, the cvt transmission on these cars are extremely horrible and potentially very unsafe. The rpm's will start to decrease and increase with no warning, eventually leaving the car to a slow crawl. Very unsafe, especially when you have a young driver on a busy freeway on his way back to college. There is currently a 'pending" recall and lawsuit on these transmissions and is long overdue. It's no wonder, car manufacturers like honda and toyota come higher rated, these cars are not just unreliable, but very unsafe based on them having past known malfunctions which seem to keep recurring every year. Filing a complaint isn't going to fix anything either, hopefully a class action lawsuit will force nissan's hand to fix the problem they are and have been aware of for years.

Transmission acts erratically, we have experienced slippage, vibrations, loss of power at highway speeds (almost like the transmission was shifted into neutral). We had the vehicle in for these problems at 50,788 miles (12/29/2017), the dealer did a reprogram at this time, and 54,904 miles (03/09/2018)with the nissan dealer saying there was nothing wrong. Car's transmission was replaced in march of 2018. I have been informed by the nissan dealership that the transmission needs to be replaced again. The transmission that was replaced, the first time, is no longer covered by the warranty. I expressed concerns that no vehicle which is serviced regularly should require another transmission in a year and a half.

I was sitting in traffic at a red light, when the traffic light turned green i pressed the gas petal to drive and my car immediately began to slow down on its own and it just cut off and all of the lights came on. After waiting a few minutes i was able to restart the car to make it home. Also while driving i could feel the car shaking or vibrating, even when i slowed down or came to a stop at a light it was shaking/vibrating, i don't know what this is. I did have my car serviced last month and the engine light was on and the dealership told me there was nothing wrong and wasn't sure why the light was on. It has been a month and my engine light remains on, and i don't know what to do. I purchased a 2014 nissan sentra and within 6 months the transmission suddenly went out. It started acting funny on my way out of town to an appt. And within 2 hours exited the interstate and was unable to move off the ramp due to transmission going out. Press the gas pedal and nothing happened no raving or rpm movement nothing. Finally i shut her off for about 5 minutes restarted put her in drive and she jerked and lunged across intersection. She then threw the engine light on for transmission issues. Prior to stopping and lunging not so much as a light had come on. The car acted like it had gotten bad gas a time or two but otherwise no warning or anything prior.

I have a 2014 nissan sentra sv. Last week at just over 100k miles my transmission went out on my car. I have the cvt transmission and my car has always been well taken care of. Nissan claims the transmission ian out of warranty. When my transmission went out i was going 65mph on the freeway and my car completely stopped. There is so much jerking and tugging. It is a safety risk and nissan needs to take responsibility for the defect on the cvt in these cars. They now want almost $4000 for a new transmission to be put in which will most likely still be defective.

I am terrified. Going up a hill my car loses power and i start coasting around 40mph and struggle to maintain the speed of traffic the highest i can go is 60mph. I have nearly been involved in multiple accidents as a result and often have to find a way to squeezes myself into the he truck lane although they still are able to over take me. My car has 50,000 miles and is well kept but it struggles so much going uphill i can feel the whirring and it's like my transmission is struggling to keep up while everyone passes me and tries to avoid colliding with me as a result of my sudden drop in speed. No matter how hard i press the gas nothing happens and i feel unsafe and feel i am a danger to other drivers on the road. This needs to change. This is unacceptable. I heard they attempted to fix the issue but there has to be something more that can be done. Please look into this. You can even borrow my car if you'd like to test this out. I also feel it may cause excessive overheating.

As i was driving or turning, car would hesitate, speed would drop even though foot still on accelerator. Turns out had moisture in driver's brake light which caused car switch to brake thereby causing jerking hesitation. 2014 nissan sentra broke down while in motion. (parking it in a spot in a medical office building lot. ) while trying to shift gears, to reverse and straighten out, it simply turned off. I restarted and it ran normally in "park" and "neutral," but stalled every time i put it into any gear. It had to be towed to a local shop where i was informed it would need a new cvt, and then towed to the dealer. I believe this car is a safety hazard because the problem occurred while the vehicle was in motion and it is only through luck that this did not happen on the road at speed. Subsequent research online indicts these issue are common to the sentra and other models from the same company, that it has tsb's and also many similar complaints on this site. The car has also been to the dealer recently, who replaced the valve body and the cvt fluid, but the cvt failed again within 90 days. Now, the whole transmission needs replacing and it's being done so, in my opinion' with full knowledge by nissan that it is likely to fail again. The car also had transmission issues in the past with the o/d off light engaging while at highway speed without my knowingly touching the button on the shift column. It is a safety issue to drive a car with a transmission that shuts down a car while it is being driven, or that shifts out of overdrive while at highway speed, without the driver making a concious choice to do so.

As we were on the highway, the speed started to reduce on its own. There was some vibretions.As we oushed in and went up a hill on the street, the car slowed to a halt. The car cut off 3 times. It would allow a start, but no gear changes. Then, it wouldnt start. Had to get a transmission as torque converter and other were out.

One night while driving home, speed was @ about 40 mph. Total lost of power, pressed the gas pedal to the floor and not go faster that 5 to 10 mph. Made it to the gas station, had it toad to my home. Next day, when i turned it on, it was making a strange whining noise, drove it 70 miles total. @ the red light, total power loss again. The same scenario trying to make it back home, only 2 miles away. Took it ot the nissan dealership and they replaced the cvt along /wthe battery/serpentine belt and one motor mount. My commute is 144 miles m-f. Used the car only on tuesdays and thursday, to break-in the new cvt. Noticed driving home the same exact issues before the total failure, hesitation when slowing down to accelerate, noise coming off the left front side, something trying to engage and slipping, then finally engaging. Noticed again when slowing down in light traffic, the exact same scenario. It is currently @ the dealership to correct the issue. I have the receipt for the total cost of repairs. The vehicle @ the time of the cvt failure had only 80,000 + miles.

Takata recall "ive suffered what i believe long term fuel inhalation i have had severe memory loss i went from having a home to staying in a motel becuase the fuel i was unknowingly inhaling for god knows how long cause me to lose conciousness even halucinate everyone assumed i was on drugs assumed i had a mental condition when turns out. All my symptoms lead tothe actual logic reason considering i soend most my days in my car because of all the appoiintments i have that was cause by this lemon of a car i was sold not only was i inhaling it my babies 4 and 2 and my 11 week old fetus growing inside me was also ive had to fix the brake caliper 3 times on top of this new fuel problem in this car oh not to mention that i already replaced a transmission in 2016 mind you my car is a 2014 new i drove it with zero miles on dec 2014 like less then a month later the check engine light was on and my strut needed replacement i have over 75 pages of maintance reports and repairs on this vehicle i still owe on a car thats potentionaly cuse me and my family long term medical problems on tol of the financial hole it put us in i was on the street the times the brake caliper broke and the freeway when the check engine light and the strut started clicking

My 2014 nissan sentra started to experience sudden shaking and issues with rpm's, it wont change gears and acceleration problems. Especially when im at a stoplight, it won't accelerate properly. It makes a wirey sound and it only has 33,000 miles on it. I can barely go past 60 mph and it is a huge safety issue. I researched the problem and came across many others complaining about the same issues.

I bought this car for work 9 months ago, the cvt transmission is out, and nissan said they are not covering the transmission even though the internet is filled with lawsuits, and extended warrantys. My complaint seems to be the same as everyone else with this vehicle....A faulty transmission! I just don't understand how nissan isn't replacing their faulty equipment! Of course as we are just out of the warranty, it is not their problem! My husband was driving the car on the highway and had to get off since the car would no longer accelerate over 40mph. The rmp gauge would go but the car wouldn't! It is very disappointing to know that nissan isn't being held more accountable for such a massive error in their manufacturing.

Our cvt transmission just let go on a 2014 sentra sr with 89,000. It was slipping, bucking and stalling the car. Towed it to the dealer said the cost would be $2200 to replace the valve body and a exhaust timing solenoid. If that didn't fix it, (i would have to pay $2200) it would need a new transmission which would cost about $4300. I called nissan corporate but they were of no help. They said it is out of warranty. They didn't even offer to pay 50%. I have seen a lot of problems with the cvt transmission something needs to be done. This is our 5th nissan. Never will i buy a nissan vehicle.

When my vehicle was in motion, my passenger air bag light did not turn off while i had a passenger in the car with their seatbelt on. I have had this issue for months and has not been fixed.

Sensor/warning/check engine lights appear to not work. I was driving on the freeway when my vehicle started to shift erratically, the car would then barely move when pressing gas. After trying to accelerate more, the vehicle did not move at all. When the vehicle was taken to the dealership there were no warning lights such as a check engine light at all which made me believe there was nothing serious wrong with the vehicle. When it was inspected by nissan technicians, they said the transmission was completely bad and needed to be replaced. This is a serious issue if the transmission is faulty and the fact that there was no indication that something wrong cause me serious potential danger as i was stuck in the middle of the freeway, unable to move. Because there was no indication that there was a problem with the transmission, this made it impossible to fix the issue early on so this could have been avoided.

Had my car on the highway oct.13,2018 for a 2hr trip...1hr into trip and my car knocked off the cruise control and began jerking with rpms jumping up and down. On return trip it did the same thing, but no warning lights ever appeared on dash. When checked, no red flags and after a day or 2 around town rpms did not jump. Nov.22,2018(just a little over 1 month) i put my car on the highway for the same trip and within an hour the car knocked off the cruise control, began jerking and rpms were jumping up and down. On the return trip back, 1hr and a half into trip, my car lost all aceleration power..Pedal to the floor and it continued to drop speed from 70mph to 45 before i turned on hazards and stopped on the shoulder. Then finally the check engine light pops on! But my daughter and i were now stranded on the side of the busy highway. My car hit 75k miles during this 2nd trip, so first time was under 75k. After spending over an hour helpless, the car jumped back into gear and allowed me to drive it the remaining 20 miles, but once exiting the highway i could not acelerate to merge into street traffic and was almost rear-ended. There has been no mention of any cvt issues when i take it in for routine maintenance. Now it's in need of repair badly! No other choice but to take it in to the nissan dealer asap. I've been loyal to nissan for many years having had a 1995 and 2002 sentra for years...I haven't even had this 2014 for 2 yet, and if being stuck on the side of the highway with a young child or almost being rear-ended due to loss of power to engine doesn't scream 'we need a safety recall' what will??

My car would jerk when going into second gear. It was slight at first. It didn't matter if i was starting from a dead stop or slowing to turn then accelerating. Later on it began the shaking later accompanied by a whine. This began around 65k miles. There was no mention of any problems cvt issues when i took it in for routine maintenance. The rpms would jump up or drop down while driving highway speeds. Now its in need of replacement badly because if i got off highway and had no pedal when i pressed accelerator taking it in to the nissan dealer

I have a 2014 nissan sentra the transmission is skipping years and jerking when i was on the freeway are you then put it in cruise control to see if it would stop and it wouldn't then when i was in the city it was still jerking and skipping as well when this starting happening i took the to a mechanic. The mechanic then said the transmission was slipping and i took it to a transmission specialist. The transmission specialist then stated he has four other nissan is the same model in his shop with the same issue. I then called the dealership and they refused to fix the vehicle under warranty or recall. The nissan dealership even stated they are having issues with these vehicles but the only extended warranty is on the 2010 and will not fix my vehicle.

This vehicle has had countless sporadic acceleration issues and feel as though it would stall/loose power but it has actually completely stalled on me on 3 occasions. 1st time: i was driving the vehicle at about 10 mph looking for a parking spot and as i pressed the gas pedal, the vehicle would shudder and would not accelerate and then the engine completely stopped as i was trying to move forward in the parking lot. I had to restart the engine. I took the care to a nissan dealership. The car had approximately 3,300 miles on it. I was told they could not find/recreate the problem and the car did not have a recall. Nothing was done. 2nd time: i was driving straight down a regular street at about 30 mph and as i tried accelerating, the car started shuddering and again, would not accelerate any more. I had to coast/pull the car over into a nearby neighborhood. 3rd time: i was on the freeway going about 50 mph when the car would jerk as i pressed the gas pedal, the rpm gage jumped around, and the car would lose power so i had to coast to the side of the freeway. The vehicle came to a complete stop. I restarted the car and tried to accelerate enough to enter the freeway at a safe speed, but would only get to a safe speed after driving the car forward in the emergency lane for a few minutes. Then, after i was able to enter the freeway, the car would lose power again and i would have to coast off to the edge of the freeway away from speeding vehicles. It was night time and visibility was low because it was a unlit highway in the middle of the desert between nevada and arizona. I was lucky not have been hit by a car. I towed the vehicle to a nissan dealership and was informed the cvt transmission need replacing. It cost $4,607.83 (with car rental) to replace. The car had about 77,000 miles at the time. I turn of my car and go to start it back up and it will not start this has happened 6 times. I have had the battery and alternator tested everything comes back fine. No service lights are on. I keep up the maintenance and oil changes on my car.

Cvt needs to be replaced and car isn't even at 80,000miles

The transmission in my car went out. The car is only four years old. The check engine light came on and the car will not go pass twenty miles an hour. If i turn it off and back on it will run for a while, but if it stops at a light of stop sign, it will not go again.

On 7/30/2018 i was driving, when i came to a stop my 2014 nissan sentra sr with 54,000 miles on it stalled. I thought it may be a fluke, but kept happening. This only happened when in gear and at a complete stop. If i was in park or neutral it would not stall. Took it to the dealership that day. Found out on 8/01/2018 that the torque convertor is bad and they are replacing the transmission.

I was driving for about 15 miles- i came to a red light- vehicle stopped and the check engine light came on. Turned the ignition off and on - vehicle would move forward an inch and stop again. This 2014 nissan sentra has been in my possession since september 12, 2015. The issue started up on sunday, july 1, 2018. I noticed the car hesitating and "jerking" whenever i attempted to accelerate above 40 mph to reach highway speed. The problem increased dramatically over the week, and during my commute on friday, july 6, 2018, my car was resisting accelerating, rpm would jump up and down while attempting to get to highway speeds and acceleration seemed to be the most difficult thing to accomplish. On my way back home from work on friday july 6, 2018 is when the problem became blatantly dangerous. I ended up experiencing a sudden "drop" in speed on the highway. The car went from 65 mph to 30 mph and refused to go any faster. The rpm did jump dramatically at one point, from barely over 1 rpm leaping up to 7 rmp, though the car's speed did not increase. The car whined loudly when that happened, then it plummeted back down to the barely over 1 rmp. I managed to get the car back up to highway speed on a downhill portion of the highway, and got myself almost to my home. The car ceased to accelerate or even recognize i was pushing on the gas pedal after coming to a complete stop at an intersection 8 blocks from my home. I called my boyfriend who came down to assist a kind neighbor who heard me trying to get my car going by turning it on and back off numerous times to no avail. He thought it "simply needed transmission fluid", as the car sounded like it wanted to go....Just couldn't "catch gears". This gentleman and my boyfriend ended up giving the nissan a push/running start after i started it back up and put it into drive. Incredibly, this allowed the car to make the last 8 blocks to my driveway, where the car came to a very abrupt, halting stop after putting it into park. Terrified to drive it, my dealership is nearly 100 miles away..Leaving me sol.

Purchased my 2014 sentra brand new(124 miles) in november 2014. I keep up with reg scheduled maint because i use my car for work, i'm in sales. Mid-june i started to experience a jolting from my car when i started to accelerate. Once i reached 40mph the jolting and tugging feeling would somewhat stop, that is until i had to slow down and then accelerate again. I had my spark plugs changed, throttle body cleaned, engine filter replaced, and it still jolted and tugged. Pretty much every year but 2014 is included in an extended warranty program from the crappy cvt. Took my vehicle to a transmission garage and they did a diagnostic test. Said cvt was bad, like all nissan transmissions, and that it needed to be rebuilt. The price they were going to charge was a little steep but it also came with a 3 year warranty, anything happens to the transmission in 3 years and they fix for free. I was talked into going to nissan to get a nissan certified diagnostic and pay $105 for something i already knew. They called me 2 days after my appointment to tell me that it was indeed the cvt , surprise surprise. I made a claim with nissan to see if i could get any out of regular warranty assistance for my 4 year old car that i still owe a lot of money on. After a week of waiting and $200+ dollars in rental car fees that i have to pay for waiting, nissan gets back to me saying they can offer a little bit of assistance. I guess a little bit is better than nothing but now i am force to wait 2+ weeks bc the dealership only has 1 nissan certified technician to work on 15 plus vehicles a day. There a 2 transmission jobs ahead of mine that have been waiting for a while and they did 6 cvt rebuilds last month. Nissan or their dealerships do not support their customers with loaners and they are only offering a 1 year/12k warranty on their work. Nissan is screwing all of us with this cvt issue!

My wife was heading to work about 1750 on june 26th, during a rain storm, she entered the highway on 43 eastbound toward milwaukee out of mukwonago, wisconsin. She was travelling about 60mph in a 70 miles an hour zone; during the storm and hydroplaned on the slick road, due to the fact this downpour had been in the early stages the roads were very slick. She spun off the side of the expressway down the embankment where the car flipped over about 3 times and she ended upside down against a tree, none of the airbags deployed. She was taken to er and was not seriously injured due to having her seatbelt fastened, enduring scrapes, bruises and abrasions. The windows all blew out, but again no airbags dispersed. She was off a week from with extreme soreness in her body and a hairline fracture in her elbow. *tt

I was driving down the highway in virginia and got off at my exit in woodbridge. When i got off at the exit, my car started revving, even though i was only doing 30 mph. My car then dropped down to 25 and the rpms kept revving. I'm in traffic, cars are swerving not to hit me because the speed limit is 40 mph. I ended up pulling into a shopping center where my car was still in drive but would not move when i put my foot on the gas. Since i was in virginia to visit a friend, i drove my car with my hazard lights on for 2.5 (which took 20 minutes because i couldn't get over 25 mph) and parked it at his house. I ended up having it towed from virginia back to maryland the next monday. I bought my car brand new off the lot with 36 miles on it. I had already had my transmission replace with the 36,000 mile warranty (nissan had to replace it). This is dangerous. What if my transmission would have started stalling on 95 south? I might now have been filling this complaint right now.

Gas gauge is not working you can fill the gas all the way up and the gauge doesn't go on the full bar it just fills up to 3/4. Then the gas miles will say 340 then next thing you know it says 280 then drive a little more it goes to 320. The a/c doesn't work as much as you fix it and for the a/c to blow cool the gas has to be filled up all the way.

On 5 different occasions my nissan sentra has stalled on its own while driving on the highway. I've only had this car for 3 years and my car is very well maintained. I'm not even sure of what's going on with my car but what i do know is that i never had a problem with my car until the 25 of may, i was driving my car and all of a sudden it started stalling as i was turning on the freeway and wouldn't take power so i had to stomp the gas to make it go then i pull off the road because it started running like something had broke i called a tow truck and had it towed and had my mechanic look at it and he said it was my transmission.

On 3 different occasions my 2014 nissan sentra has stalled and started on its own. I noticed that the rpm gage will look jumpy then it feels as the car is shaking then it stalls and within 5 minutes it turns back on. I was in an accident april 7th at 9:30 pm. I was driving down having a problem with keeping my windows from fogging up and had taken my eyes out from the road to look at my defrost knobs to make adjustments. When i looked back up, there was a truck stopped at the intersection which i hit dead on at a speed of 40mph. I believe i had enough time to take my foot off the gas pedal and start to apply my brake before colliding into the rear of the truck. Although i was wearing my seatbelt, it did not lock up , allowing my body to be thrown into the steering wheel & dashboard and thus fracturing my lower back and tibia on left leg. In addition to the laceration on my liver and bleeding ( internal bleeding) around my pelvic bone. My seatbelt restraint did not lock and my airbag did not deploy until after my chest hit steering wheel. These 2 malfunctions could have easily caused much more serious injuries, even death. While driving my 2014 nissan sentra (66,000 miles) on the highway, i noticed the rpms started fluctuating, followed by difficulty shifting. I exited the highway and came to a full stop. The car was then unable to accelerate. Putting it in park, turning the engine off and on again allowed me to accelerate and drive to a gas station. I called my mechanic, he said it could be contaminated gas, and directed me to find a nearby autozone, where an employee scanned the car and agreed it was contaminated gas. I purchased seafoam and put it in the gas tank, with assurances that this would clear up the issue but the ride may be 'bumpy'. I decided to finish my drive to new orleans. Upon entering new orleans and shifting to stop and go traffic, it was apparant the issue had not resolved itself. The vehicle was barely accelerating or shifting. It felt very unsafe to drive through an unknown city. The following morning, i brought it to autozone again, this time the scan showed issues with the transmission. I had a technician reboot the computer, but nothing changed. Not knowing the severity of the issue and being 500+ miles from home and my mechanic, i decided to risk the drive back to nashville, having had everyone at the autozone and my mechanic tell me at 66k miles the transmisson should not need to be services. The car was clearly having issues, but i was able to get it to highway speed. I made it to about 200 miles outside of nashville when it simply became too unsafe for me to continue on the highway. I got a tow 200m home, directly to my mechanic. He inspected the transmission the following day and found the transmission fluid was dangerously low with no sign of leakage. After changing the fluid, he determined the transmission needed to be replaced. I took it into carmax, where i has purchased the vehicle just over a year prior. They came to the same conclusion.

When driving the vehicle i noticed a noise while accelerating. When i turned the wheel while accelerating it got louder and struggled to move ive only had the vehicle for three years. I had called the dealer to ask about my warrenty. They had told me that i was over my milage. So then i took it to amco to get it serviced and i find out the transmission had issues spent 2800. One year later i'm having other issues with the transmission. I'm not the only complainting about this there are other vehicles having cvt issues. I cant afford to put more money into this vehicle. The engine light has been on/off for over a year. I have had it "fix" . Code kept saying massair sensor. Last week i took it in again and they put on an updated clip. And told me the transmission was failing . So i did research and learned that some cars have recalls on this and would be covered til 120,000 miles . They said my vin was not covered. If this is an universal issues why is it not covered .
