Corrective actions: mercedes-benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your van to a dealer to update the body controller software.

  • Recall 2019181 [Canada]: Lights and instruments
Issue: the headlight range adjustment sensor on certain vans equipped with led high performance headlights may not have been installed or not have been calibrated correctly. This could cause the automatic headlights not to adjust properly. Safety risk: headlights that are not properly adjusted may not light the road well and could cause glare for oncoming drivers. Either of these situations could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective actions: mercedes-benz will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their van to a dealer inspect and repair the automatic headlight sensor as necessary.

To ensure accuracy and for your safety, it is recommended to do a free VIN recall check here or here [USA] - UK - Canada.

The lane assist and crosswind assist do not work properly. When a gust of wind hits you or when you're passing a semi, the van immediately forces your vehicle off the road or into the other lane where there is another vehicle or a concrete barrier. It's very difficult to hold onto the steering wheel and try to maneuver the vehicle to stay in your lane. The only way to turn off these features are to turn off them off every time you start your vehicle. Mercedes benz has told me there is no way to turn it off completely and they have had numerous complaints of unsafe vehicle responses from the assist features.
