• Recall 184071 [USA]: Over cured tires may develop a break in the sidewall resulting in sudden air loss or a belt edge separation which could lead to a tread/belt loss. either condition can cause a loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
  General motors llc (gm) is recalling certain 2020 buick enclave, cadillac xt4, xt5, escalade, escalade esv, chevrolet suburban, tahoe, traverse, gmc yukon, yukon xl, 2018-2021 chevrolet express, gmc savana, 2019-2020 chevrolet blazer, silverado 1500, gmc acadia, sierra 1500, and certain continental tires sold to the aftermarket for various model year 2018-2021 vehicles. The affected tires were cured for too long during production.
  gm will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the tires, replacing them as necessary, free of charge. The recall began march 22, 2021. • Recall 180299 [USA]: Over-pressurization can crack the fuel pump and cause leaks, increasing the risk of a fire in the presence of an ignition source.
  General motors llc (gm) is recalling certain 2020 cadillac escalade, escalade esv, chevrolet camaro, silverado 1500, suburban, tahoe, gmc sierra 1500, yukon, and yukon xl vehicles. The fuel pump may be missing a pressure regulator, allowing for over-pressurization of the fuel system.
  gm will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pump, free of charge. The recall began december 18, 2019. • Recall 179777 [USA]: Unintended activation of the driveline-protection system will cause unintended braking on the wheel on the opposite side of the failed sensor, causing the vehicle to pull to one side unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash.
  General motors llc (gm) is recalling certain 2015-2020 chevrolet suburban, tahoe, and gmc yukon, and 2014-2018 chevrolet silverado 1500 and gmc sierra 1500 vehicles equipped with a 5.3-liter engine, a 3.08-ratio rear axle and four-wheel drive. If a wheel-speed sensor fails, while the vehicle is traveling between 41 and 60 mph in four-wheel or automatic mode, the electronic-brake control module (ebcm) software may activate the driveline-protection system.

  Issue: on certain vehicles, the high-pressure fuel pump could be missing a part that helps control the pressure. As a result, the pump can crack. If this happens, there could be a fuel leak in the engine compartment. Safety risk: a fuel leak in the engine compartment could result in a fire. Corrective actions: the company will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the high-pressure fuel pump.

• Recall 2019533 [Canada]: Brakes
  Issue: on certain vehicles, there may be an error in the electronic-brake control module software. This could cause the driveline-protection system to activate when a wheel-speed sensor fails. If this happens, the brakes could apply and cause the vehicle to pull to one side. Note: this recall only affects vehicles equipped with four-wheel drive, a 5.3-l engine, and a 3.08 ratio rear axle. The problem can only occur when the vehicle is in four-wheel drive or automatic mode, and travelling at a speed between 66 and 97 km/h (41 and 60 mph). A wheel-speed sensor failure will cause the electronic stability control (esc) and anti-lock braking system (abs) warning lights to turn on, and a "service stabilitrak" message to display. Safety risk: a vehicle that suddenly pulls to one side could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective actions: general motors will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update the electronic-brake control module software. General motors advises that using two-wheel-drive mode can eliminate the risk until the recall repair is completed.

• Air bag malfunction investigation # PE21010

  The office of defects investigation (odi) has received fifteen consumer complaints on alleged air bag system malfunctions on certain general motors (gm) vehicles. Nine of the consumer complaints allege the illumination of an air bag malfunction indicator (mil). Six crash incidents have significant frontal collision damage where driver frontal air bags failed to deploy. Additionally, all the complaints received by odi involve either gm vehicles (model years 2020 and 2021 silverado, sierra, tahoe, suburban, yukon, yukon xl, escalade, and escalade esv) covered by gm technical service bulletin (tsb) 21-na-005 or ct4, ct5, and xt4 vehicles. The tsb, issued in march 2021, addresses air bag mil illumination accompanied by diagnostic trouble codes B0001-1b or B0012-0d.It also cites rust particles in the connection terminal interface of the driver air bag inflator as the cause of the air bag mil illumination.Illumination of the air bag mil under these circumstances may result in a non-deployment of the driver airbag during a frontal collision and increased risk of injury to the driver.Odi is opening this preliminary investigation to determine the scope and severity of the potential problem and to fully assess the potential safety-related issues.The odi reports cited above are available for review at nhtsa.Gov under the following identification numbers: 11339175, 11343883, 11360339, 11361893, 11362218, 11362839, 11363479, 11363644, 11374129, 11376429, 11384282, 11385267, 11385428, 11390093, 11395340.

Gmc suv - hydroplaned -- could not achieve traction control despite moving away from water patch.. Front angle crashed into concrete median; all side airbags deployed, no front airbags deployed.

Tl* the contact's wife owns a 2020 gmc yukon equipped with continental tires, tire line: crosscontact lx sport, tire size 245/50/r20. The contact stated while driving 65 mph, the driver's side front tire experienced a blowout. The vehicle was towed to david bales buick gmc (1327 jacksboro pike, lafollette, tn 37766, 423) 562-8431) where the vehicle was still awaiting a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 14,900.

Vehicle brakes would not operate properly, increased braking effort and message displayed on instrument cluster 'service brake system'. This is the 4th time a beake issue has been experienced with a gm suburban/yukon vehicle. First 3 were on our 2017 chevrolet suburban premier. Also, engine just shutoff in the middle of a turn lane of a busy intersection, no other symptoms so far.

The rented 2020 tahoe was stationary. A passenger sitting in the left third row seat became stuck in the seat belt. She was unable to open the seatbelt clasp as it got stuck and failed to unlatch. The more the passenger struggled to unlatch the seatbelt, the progressively tighter it became. Passenger could not disengage the seatbelt clasp by pressing the tiny red button. Three other passengers tried to release the seatbelt and could not. Passenger was trapped with tight seat belt holding her in. Other passengers called emergency personnel who also could not release the ever tightening seat belt. Passenger was released when the ranger cut the seat belt with a seatbelt cutting emergency tool. It was a very scary and dangerous experience. Later, some of our guests figured out that you have to press the tiny red button on the left latch with a piece of the right buckle. A passenger should be able to release the seatbelt by depressing the red button. A passenger cannot even reach the button from the seated position as the button is tiny and cannot accommodate an adult finger to depress it. This is the worst example of engineering i have ever experienced. I am frankly amazed that this design passed any safety tests. Please address the issue before someone is hurt or killed by being trapped in the vehicle and unable to escape. *tr
