(nissan) is recalling certain model year 2016-2017 nissan maxima, 2013-2016 nissan altima, nv200, leaf, sentra, and pathfinder, 2014-2016 nissan nv200 taxi, infiniti qx60, qx60 hybrid, and q50 hybrid, 2014-2017 nissan rogue and infiniti q50, 2015-2016 nissan murano, murano hybrid, and chevrolet city express, 2014-2015 nissan pathfinder hybrid, and 2013 infiniti jx35 vehicles. In these vehicles, the front seat passenger occupant classification system (ocs) may incorrectly classify an adult passenger as a child or classify the seat as empty despite it being occupied. As a result, the passenger frontal air bag may be turned off and not deploy in the event of a crash.

Dealers will reprogram the air bag control unit (acu) and ocs electronic control unit (ecu) in altima, maxima, murano, rogue, and sentra vehicles, and replace the ocs ecu in leaf, nv200, nv200 taxi, pathfinder, infiniti q50, jx35, and qx60 and chevrolet city express vehicles, free of charge. Interim notices were sent to owners on may 31, 2016. Owners will receive a second notice when remedy parts become available. • Recall 95426 [USA]: If the fuel guage does not accurately show when the tank is becoming empty, the vehicle may run out of gas unexpectedly, stalling, and increasing the risk of a crash.
  Nissan is recalling certain model year 2013 infiniti jx35 vehicles manufactured from february 15, 2012, through june 22, 2012. Due to an assembly issue, the fuel transfer tube may be misrouted inside the fuel tank. As a result, the fuel level float may be prevented from dropping as the fuel is consumed and the fuel guage may read a fuel level higher than actually exists.

  On certain vehicles, a defect in the occupant classification system could allow an adult sitting in the front passenger seat to be classified as a child or an “empty seat”. This would suppress the airbag, which could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Correction: for affected altima, maxima, murano, rogue and sentra vehicles, dealers will reprogram the airbag control unit and the occupant classification system control unit.   Certain vehicles serviced as part of recall 2014-093 or which had the occupant classification system (ocs) module replaced during servicing may have been fitted with an incorrect replacement ocs module. An incorrect ocs module would impair the effectiveness of the ocs, potentially failing to properly classify an adult passenger seated in the front passenger seat. This could cause the secondary latch to remain in the open position and allow the hood to open suddenly while driving if the primary hood latch was not engaged properly or accidentally released. This could compromise the driver’s ability to see the road and its users, as well as cause damage to the windshield, which could result in a crash causing injury and/or property damage.   On some vehicles, due to a misrouted fuel transfer tube inside the fuel tank, the fuel gauge may read higher than the actual level in the fuel tank. This could cause the vehicle to run out of fuel without notice. • Collision mitigation system malfunction investigation # PE12022

  The office of defects investigation (odi) analyzed complaint data provided by nissan as well as complaints submitted to odi from consumers. In total, there were 2 unique reports alleging inappropriate autonomous brake activation while driving.During pe12-022, nissan identified a condition in model year (my) 2013 infiniti jx 35 that may result in inappropriate autonomous activation of emergency breaking by the intelligent brake assist (iba). According to nissan, unique road environment anomalies can affect proper iba operation and may cause iba activation where it is not needed.Odi investigators were able to replicate the anomaly and found iba interventions are extremely brief and may interrupt travelling speeds but do not stop the vehicle. Nissan developed a software countermeasure to address the condition and has initiated a customer satisfaction campaign to reprogram the radar and advanced driver assistance system (adas) control units on all affected vehicles. The bulletin was sent to dealers on august 10, 2012 and the owner letter mailing began on september 4, 2012. See the investigative file for copies of nissans bulletin and owner letter. We drove to fill up the tank. After filling until it stopped the mileage to empty did not increase. The fuel level then stayed at full as we drove to run errands but the mileage to empty never updated and only showed a decrease of miles. Additionally, when we break the stopping distance is really long and we have to break farther back. It feels 'squishy' but has new brake pads. Consumer stated he would like the complaint to be removed, made an error.

The contact owns a 2013 infiniti jx35. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle inadvertently decelerated with the check engine warning light flashing on the instrument panel. The contact stated that she pulled over and waited for a few minutes before restarting the vehicle to resume normal driving. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer where they were unable to provide an official diagnosis. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.

When i was driving on the highway the vehicle jerked and been to lose speed without warning. This was very scary. I'm in the vehicle with my family going the speed limit and all of the sudden the speed drops no matter how much you push the gas pedal. We could have lost our lives and lives of others. This is beyond a safety issue.

I have a 2013 infiniti jx 35 that is on its 2nd transmission and experiencing shudder problems. The dealership stated that it will need to be replaced again in order for the problem to go away. This is a safety issues as this could cause accidents on the interstate. This truck is dangerous.

While in drive the automatic transmission doesn't go thru the sequence of shifts. It doesn't go properly into the standard forward drive mode. It stays in the lower gears.

This side was replaced fully by infiniti just 2 years ago because it went out while driving in the mountains and is now is once again gone out while driving. Each time they say it is a ballast and the full unit,$1500, has to be replaced. This is unacceptable. And is very dangerous.
