• Recall 251021 [USA]: A rearview camera image that does not display while in reverse decreases the driver's visibility, increasing the risk of injury or crash.
  Jaguar land rover north america, llc (land rover) is recalling certain 2018-2022 range rover and range rover sport vehicles equipped with a surround camera system. Water may enter into the rearview camera, which can cause the rearview camera image not to appear on the display or display a distorted image. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard number 111, "rear visibility."
  dealers will inspect the rearview camera and add a new seal or replace the camera, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed to range rover owners march 4, 2024. Interim notification letters were mailed to range rover sport owners march 7, 2024. Range rover sport owners will receive a second notice once remedy parts become available. • Recall 239647 [USA]: Coolant leaking onto the turbocharger heat shield inside the engine compartment can increase the risk of a fire.
  Jaguar land rover north america, llc (land rover) is recalling certain 2019-2021 land rover range rover phev and 2019-2022 land rover range rover sport phev vehicles. The water pump pulley drive belt may become damaged or detach, which can allow the engine to overheat. An overheated engine can rupture the engine coolant elbow pipe, leaking coolant onto the turbocharger heat shield.
  dealers will replace the engine coolant elbow and the turbocharger feed coolant pipe, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed may 19, 2023. Owners may contact land rover customer service at 1-800-637-6837. Land rover's number for this recall is n785.

The auto high beam (ahb) system does not indicate through the instrument cluster when the high beams are illuminated automatically. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment."

• Recall 2021102 [Canada]: Lights and instruments
  Issue: on certain vehicles, when the automatic high beam (ahb) system is turned on, the ahb tell-tale indicator on the instrument panel may not turn on. This could lead you to drive without knowing that high beam lights can turn on automatically. Canadian regulations require a tell-tale indicator to turn on when the automatic high beams are activated. Safety risk: a driver that does not know that the high beam lights are turned on could create glare for other drivers and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective actions: land rover will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update vehicle software.

• Pedestrian alert sounds investigation # DP22005

  Nhtsa received a petition on or about july 18, 2022, requesting that federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) 141 be applied to all electric and hybrid vehicles operating in the united states. The petition can be reviewed at nhtsa.Gov under odi number 11486072.Fmvss 141 establishes performance requirements for pedestrian alert sounds for motor vehicles. The standard applies to hybrid and electric vehicles that have a gross vehicle weight rating of 4,536 kg or less or are defined as low-speed vehicles. The standard became fully applicable to all such vehicles manufactured on or after march 1, 2021.The petitioner asserts that hybrid and electric vehicles to which the standard does not apply should be found to contain a safety defect. In support of the petition, the petitioner includes findings contained in a bill introduced in the house of representatives in 2009, the pedestrian safety enhancement act of 2009, h.R. 734, 111th cong. (2009). A related bill, the pedestrian safety enhancement act of 2010, became law in january 2011 (pub. L. 111-373). The petitioner requests that nhtsa require all electric and hybrid vehicles comply with fmvss 141, regardless of production date.The defect petition has been opened to evaluate the issue and determine whether to grant or deny the petition.The associated product list is not exhaustive and may contain vehicles that are equipped with pedestrian alert sounds.

Tl* the attorney called on behalf of the vehicle owner/driver. The driver owns a 2020 range rover. The contact stated that while the driver was reversing into a parking space, the vehicle suddenly accelerated. The vehicle collided with another vehicle and a parked vehicle. The driver sustained injuries that required medical attention. The attorney stated that the driver had no control of the vehicle. A police report was filed. The vehicle was towed from the accident scene. The vehicle was not taken to an independent mechanic or dealer for diagnoses. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 500. The vin was not available.

I put my car in park while still running and exited it to grab something about 15 feet away on a front porch. I heard the engine make a noise, i turned my head and saw the car starting to move towards me up a slight hill on its own. I ran to the car, opened the driver door, and tried to stop it but fell. The car ran over my foot and hit the front of the house that caused it to stop. Prior to this incident it was in for service for a foul odor that was coming from inside of my car. They had it in the shop twice and made a repair that did not fully correct the issue. A few days prior to this incident i noticed there was an issue on acceleration. After about 10 miles an hour it would start to hesitate then go into the next gear. I was going to schedule a service for this and then the accident happen.
