    Honda (american honda motor co.) is recalling certain 2013-2023 honda accord, civic coupe, civic sedan, civic hatchback, civic type r, cr-v, hr-v, ridgeline, odyssey, acura ilx, mdx, mdx hybrid, rdx, rlx, tlx, 2019-2022 honda insight, passport, 2020 honda cr-v hybrid, 2018-2019 honda clarity phev, fit, and 2015-2020 honda accord hybrid, pilot, acura nsx vehicles. The fuel pump inside the fuel tank may fail.
    dealers will replace the fuel pump module, free of charge. Interim letters notifying owners of the safety risk were mailed february 5, 2024. A second notice will be mailed once the remedy is available. Owners may contact honda customer service at 1-888-234-2138. Honda's numbers for this recall are kgc and kgd.   • Recall 114257 [USA]: If a safety system cannot immediately warn the driver when needed, the driver may be at increased risk of a crash.
    Honda (american honda motor co.) is recalling certain model year 2016 honda pilot 2wd vehicles manufactured may 4, 2015, to september 8, 2015 and 2016 pilot 4wd vehicles manufactured may 7, 2015 to september 4, 2015. In the affected vehicles, when one of the safety systems such as tire pressure monitoring, anti-lock braking or electronic stability control malfunctions, there is potential that the instrument panel will not illuminate the corresponding warning light, however the warning lamps will illuminate when the ignition is turned off and then turned back on. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 126, "electronic stability control systems", number 135, "light vehicle brake systems" and number 138, "tire pressure monitoring systems".

  • Recall 2021725 [Canada]: Structure
    Issue: on certain vehicles, the hood latch striker could separate from the hood. If this happens, the hood could open while driving. Note: a loose or vibrating hood may be a warning that the hood latch is failing. Safety risk: a hood that opens suddenly while driving could block the driver's view and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective actions: honda will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the hood latch striker. Depending on its condition, a striker support plate will be installed, or if necessary, the hood will be replaced.

  • Recall 2016278 [Canada]: Fuel supply
    On certain vehicles, the fuel tank may have received insufficient welds during manufacturing. Over time, the insufficient welds may separate and allow for fuel leakage. A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: dealers will replace the fuel tank.

  • Recall 2015474 [Canada]: Brakes
    Certain vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of canada motor vehicle safety standard 135 - brake systems and canada motor vehicle safety standard 126 - electronic stability control systems. Due to a software error in the instrument cluster, vehicle stability assist (vsa), abs and brake warning lamps may not illuminate under certain conditions, which fails to meet the requirements of the standard. Failure of these lights to illuminate could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Note: the warning light will illuminate with next key cycle. Correction: dealers will update the instrument cluster software.

    The office of defects investigation (odi) has received 221 complaints and several field reports alleging an issue with the auto start/stop feature on 2016-2019my honda pilot vehicles. The complaints allege that the engine fails to restart on its own from a complete stop at a traffic light or road intersection with the auto start/stop function engaged. Some of the complainants allege that a jump was required for the vehicle to restart. The subject vehicles are equipped with a 3.5l engine coupled with a 9-speed automatic transmission. To help improve fuel efficiency, the pilot touring and elite vehicles are equipped with auto start/stop capability. When the system is enabled by the driver and certain operating conditions are met, the auto start/stop system will automatically shut off the engine when the vehicle comes to a complete stop. The engine is automatically restarted when the driver releases the brake pedal after a stop.Odi met with honda on various occasions on this issue. Honda indicated that per the information provided from nhtsa complaints and tread (transportation recall enhancement, accountability and documentation) reports, they have found a correlation with customers allegations for the auto start/stop failure to restart the vehicle when the system is activated. Occasionally, the engine does not automatically re-start after the idle engages. This has happened multiple times over the last couple of years. The result is a stalled vehicle, sometimes at busy intersections. This is confusing, annoying, and potentially dangerous --- thankfully so far the drivers behind me have reacted quickly to a stalled vehicle in front of them. The vehicle also seems to hesitate when attempting to start manually. The situation can become quite frantic. I changed the on-off push button which was having some other problems, but the problem with the engine not re-starting after idle persists. I have also changed the battery and regularly check my current battery, but it just happened again yesterday and i almost got hit! What component or system failed or malfunctioned, and is it available for inspection upon request? Engine automatic re-start after idle. How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? Stalled vehicle in traffic. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? No. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? No.

Occasionally, when the vehicle is stopped at a stop sign, or stoplight, the idle stop will engage and shut off the engine. When releasing brake pedal, engine will not restart. Vehicle must be placed in park, brake pedal depressed very hard and then attempt to restart. Vehicle will restart after one or more tries. When the vehicle will not re-start, the symptoms are that or a dead battery. Warning lights, engine will not crank. But, then it restarts just fine. The issue does not happen if idle stop feature is disabled. Dealership has not been able to repeat problem, has tested primary electrical components and cannot fix it. Dealership has looked at the problem 3 times. This is becoming a safety issue, and it is easily found in online forums with other owners of the same years, make, model having the same issue. I believe this to be an issue with the control logic in the idle stop loop.

Issue: auto stop / start feature on 2016 honda pilot touring does not re-engage / start the car after being idle from a stop. This is a repeated issue that has been occurring intermittently since i bought the car brand new. I have taken it to the dealer multiple times and they state they can't replicate so can't fix. However, multiple forums have stated others are having similar issues. This originally was happening about once a month. Its now at least once per week. I have blocked traffic and almost been hit multiple times as my car won't start again at stop signs / lights. Usually after 30 seconds to 2 minutes, i can put it in park and wait a bit and it will eventually start. The last two times it would not restart until it was jumped after waiting for roadside service. I have taken it for battery and alternator evaluation and both are fine.

Keyless start system error in the 2016 causes a risk of being stranded without the ability to start vehicle. There is no option on the car to use a manual key for starting. You can get the door open with a manual key, but not operate the car engine. There is nothing wrong with the engine. It’s a safety issue.

O2 sensor in regards to fuel injector recall. Fuel injector failure with 55,000 miles on injectors. All injectors replaced by dealer under recall. Now with, 57,000 miles, so 2,000 additional miles since original recall, now the o2 sensor fails. Obviously, o2 sensor failed due to original fuel injector failure putting too much fuel into the emissions system, which caused the o2 sensor to fail. The o2 sensor not part of recall and not covered under any extended warranty. But the extended warranty added onto catalytic converter. Entire emissions system has extended warranty except o2 sensors. O2 sensors are just as much a part of the emissions system as fuel injectors and catalytic converters. O2 sensors should be covered under this entire recall.

While waiting for the green light and pressing the brake engine suddenly stopped. Thinking that engine stop and go mode kicking in but despite releasing the brake it won't restart. Tried to restart vehicle but only on the 3rd attemp that engine restarted. This is the second time it happened despite the repair last month at dealership which according to them they change the start switch botton that might caused the problem. I believe the stop and go feature of the car causing this problem. Releasing the brake from full stop should render the engine to restart but for any reason this is malfunctioning.

Yes, vehicle has stalled several times on the busiest highway in hawaii during rush hour traffic. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? The problem was recreated by me during a road east several times with the service manager from the local honda dealer in the vehicle. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? No were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? All lights come on instantaneously before the vehicle completely does. The vehicle must be placed in park and takes as long as 30 seconds to restart. Again, in the middle of the highway h1 on oahu.

The vehicle is starting itself in accessory mode. It is completely off, no one around, no one touching the key fobs, and it will just try to start itself. Because no one is inside of the car pressing the brake, it just defaults to accessory mode. The vehicle is just turning itself on by itself. When the vehicle is locked, this triggers the alarm.

At a stop light the vehicle will intermittently, during the idle stop sequence, not restart. I have had it to the dealer for this problem where the outcome was ntf. I had the battery replaced and the vehicle still does this on occasion. In order to restart it must be placed in park, powered down, powered back up and then you can restart. This process on average takes 15 to 20 seconds. In a busy intersection this is very stressful as cars behind you start to honk and yell as you try and keep your cool to go through the restart process.

The 2016 honda pilot elite has an auto idle stop (ais). Three times in the last six months my pilot has stalled when at a stop and not automatically restarted when the foot was taken off the brake. It then took 5-6 tries to have the car restart. Twice it happened at stop signs with traffic behind me and once in rush hour traffic in dallas when stopped for traffic backup. Mine does not seem to be an isolated problem since i have read numerous accounts of similar problems online. Dealer said did not have a fix for problem.

Auto idle stop. Twice my car has shut of when auto idle was engaged. Traveling at speed have to stop to merge or at red light auto idle will engaged. Car shut off when the brake was released followed by a warning display in the speedometer screen to put car in park and and restart. Those are the facts now for the issue. I was traveling on i35 in texas merged onto 190. Had to momentarily stop to merge. I let off brake and the car died. Cars where coming up on me fast. I was able to engage hazard flashers and restart car. Second time i was at red light released brake and car died. Followed same procedure and got car restarted. My car was "stall out" at a stop light or stop sign when i was in "auto idle-stop" and pressed on the gas. I first noticed that the auto idle-stop was hesitating when it would start up. I also noticed that the radio would "cut out". After that, the vehicle would just stall out and i would have to push park, put my foot on the brake and then push start. Problem and error message returned again 3 days later. On return trip to the dealership, they tried to blame it on a weak (5 month old) battery. (i tested battery at 3 different auto parts stores after trip to dealership; battery tests as good as new). Countless complaints regarding this issue on internet message boards, owners' message boards and honda service bulletin (20-117) has been issued. Changing the start/stop switch doesn't appear to solve the problem in all vehicles. 2) problem with engine not auto re-starting after going into an auto idle stop. Has happened multiple times with my vehicle, including twice while attempting to navigate through an intersection during start and stop traffic. Highly unsafe situation. I'm not aware of any recalls on this issue, but numerous honda technical research & support group 'dealership only' messages have been issued regarding this problem. Testing at the local dealership couldn't locate any problems. I turn off the auto idle stop feature immediately when using the vehicle to keep from getting stuck in traffic again.

Over the past few years, i have had issues with my car shutting off when at a stop after the auto off feature engages and does not turn back on. I have to put the car in park and manually restart the engine to continue. This was happening at least a couple times a month. I took it to the honda dealer and no problem was found according to the dealer. I began to get in the habit of disabling the auto off feature every time i started the car and this seemed to avoid this problem i was having. Two days ago, however, when i was driving, it began to shut off every time i was idling at a red light (8 times in one day) even with the auto-off disabled. And when i got on the freeway, driving at about 55mph, the engine shut off and i had to emergently coast over past the fast lane into a narrow inside shoulder. I had my young children and elderly parents in the car and it was a very scary and dangerous experience for us. We were thankful able to restart the car and get off the freeway with the car shutting off two more times in the middle of the street while driving at slow speeds (10-20 mph) before arriving at a gas station parking lot. The display cycled through many error messages ie emission systems problem, power steering system problem, transmission system problem, emissions system problem, hill start assist problem, etc. I am very concerned that we have got continued to have problems with this vehicle shutting off which is very dangerous.

I had my young children and elderly parents in the car and it was a very scary and dangerous experience for us. We were thankful able to restart the car and get off the freeway with the car shutting off two more times in the middle of the street while driving at slow speeds (10-20 mph) before arriving at a gas station parking lot. The display cycled through many error messages ie emission systems problem, power steering system problem, transmission system problem, emissions system problem, hill start assist problem, etc. I am very concerned that we have got continued to have problems with this vehicle shutting off which is very dangerous.

The battery has been replaced four times. I have traced to the issue to an overload of the electrical system. The alternator is not capable of pouring all of the devices in the car and thus the battery drains. If i run the heated seats and steering wheel, the battery will discharge within 30 minutes even if the car is driven at highway speeds. I have been stalled in the middle of intersections several times. The autostart feature needs to have the option to stay dis-engaged when the car is shut off. It is unsafe to have the car fails to start at stoplights or when trying to pull into traffic. The electrical system is designed improperly. Do the math. Molding trim on roof of the vehicle is lifting and not secured. Molding trim around windshield is not secured and a plastic screw deteriorated and fell out. Trim won't stay in clips on the roof or on the windshield. I noticed the trim around the windshield was lifted while driving on a city street. We have taken the vehicle into honda dealership where we purchased the vehicle too many times to count. They have replaced the battery, replaced the start/stop switch, cleaned out multiple error codes. Nothing has provided a permanent fix. We just had to have our transmission replaced at 70,000 miles! The problem reared it's head again today. This time my wife had to press the brake, the gas pedal (both with all her might) and press the start/stop button at the same time. Something isn't right. I'm convinced we have a lemon, however the dealer seems to think we don't have a case for that. Honda has to step in and take accountability. There are far too many 2016 pilot owners having this same issue for honda not to realize the valid safety concern we all have. The repair shop printed all of the recalls and told me most likely it would need the fuel tank replaced which is cover under a recall. They told me to go to the dealership and see of the recall work has been completed. The dealership advised that the recall was done in the past.

They said did reset and sent it home.On march24 this year got error for keyless entry ,honda said on recall changed start button,on marci 29 car alarm started going off again ,so brought it back to honda now they say it's keyless access/tim's control unit and program unit and keys & memorize tim's sensors 832.Dollars.Need to mention car only has 45k.The vehicle was parked each time

Air bag did not deploy on impact. Driving approximately 15 mph on a residential road when brake's locked and car did not respond, running directly into a telephone pole while on a hill/slope. Car picked up speed before impact. Air bag sensor or error appeared on impact, car smelled of smoke/burning. Front body and frame had extensive damage, ie. Radiator cage(?). Air bags did not deploy and police stated that given the impact, they should have. Car is being repaired and air bag sensor continues to display without known cause.

All of my warning lights turned on back in oct 2020.. We did some driving the day before,. But nothing crazy... Every light went off .. So took it to dealership and they said it was fuel injectors.. So they replaced it all .. And said it should fix the problem... Then i drove it to southern ca during thanksgiving and then all of sudden coming down from (grapevine) the car stalled, i press the gas and nothing .. I was able to coast it to side of the road..Attached is a pic of what was coming up.. Then i put car in park and and the rpm started to go up 4-5 rpm without me pressing gas, so i would turn off car.. 10 min later i started the car and was able to drive it off the freeway.. But couldnt drive more than 50 mph.. So the transmission would change.. So after getting towed and took few days.. Took to honda dealership in ventura ca.. Worst service ever.. Pretty much didnt want to look at vehichle.. So then took to another dealership more helpful.. All the error light was gone.. They told me only error was some oil pressure down.. And suggested that oil filter wasnt n authentic oil filter and thats what could have caused problem.. Yes idont typically send to dealership but i do go to a authentic oil change company... So pretty much this error has caused twice in 3 months.. Vehicle only at 61k when the 2nd one happen.. And not real solution.. I had my 2 kids and my wife when this all happen.. Not safe at all.. Please find a solution.. My local dealership offered to take my vehcile and drive it home with a technician to see if anything come up.. But now im seeing a lot of people having the same problem.. Either transmission.. Oil change.. Reason i took honda is due to the safety and relaiability.. But now im havign doubts.. Please help!!.. Luckily all under extended warrenty.. But for how long?

We have a 2016 honda pilot touring. Since early 2018 we have been having issues with the idle stop system. The problem is when we are driving and we come to stop in traffic at a light, the idle stop system engages and shuts the engine down, like it is suppose to do. Once the light turns green for traffic to move, i release the brake and the idle stop system tries to engage and turn the engine on again, but fails and shuts the whole vehicle down, inoperable. The lights flash and i cannot turn the car on again for at least 1 to 2 minutes. Vehicles are honking and traffic is blaring across us, but i cannot turn the vehicle back on. After 2 minutes, i can restart the vehicle by pushing the button and brake and then the vehicle moves. This is a safety issue, since you never know when it wil lol happen, but it has always happened while in heavy trafffic or a busy intersection. In 2019, i took vehicle in for service, they said it was a bad battery. I replaced the battery in march 2019. The same identical problem still continued to occur multiple times. November 10 took the same dealer, howdy honda, austin,tx. They again told me the battery was reading bad, but i had the battery tested at another shop and at the place of purchase, and the battery was more then fine and tested great in and out of the vehicle. The dealer of course said they could not recreate the issue and did not see anything when they tested the system. They just pawned it off on the battery, even though the battery is less than 2 years old and testing just fine. There is no way to permanently disable the system and if i forget to push the idle stop disengage button every time i start the vehicle, i could end up on the road in the middle of traffic and some driver decides not to pay attention and run into me and my disabled vehicle. This is unacceptable and such a hazard and honda does not seem to care.

My car died on me at a stop sign with the idle start/stop feature with 50k miles on it on 12/3/2019. (one week prior, the 'emissions system problem' popped up.) i came to a stop at a very busy intersection. The idle start/stop kicked in. When i went to take my foot off the brake to hit the gas, my pilot completely died on me. It wouldn't restart. My dash looked like a christmas tree with all the different lights/warnings popping up every time i would try to start it. My friend came to jump it & it would not start. After over 2.5 hours blocking traffic & 2 police officers having to direct traffic, while waiting for a tow truck, i finally got my car to the dealership. First day they said they had no clue what was wrong with it. 2nd day they called & said the problem was just a software update for the idle start/stop. They said it's a known issue & there is no recall & they are fixing them only as the issue presents itself. Forward to 2/21/2020. 'emissions system problem' pops up again. I drop my pilot off at the dealership again on 2/24/2020. This time they say all my fuel injectors need to be replaced. The next day they call me again to say when they got in there, my seals were bad & they needed to replace those too. After 3 days, i got my pilot back. Ever since i have had it back, my idle start/stop has acted like it wasn't going to come back on every time i drive it & i try to remember to turn it off when i get in my car. I go from the brake to the gas & it dings & then 'collision mitigation system problem' pops up & then goes away. 10/31/2020 died on me stopped at a red light again with the idle start/stop feature on. The contact stated that on several occasions while at an intersection or stopped, the vehicle failed to switch to auto-start mode and the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact stated that the vehicle hesitated to accelerate for several seconds. While the vehicle was in reverse, the taillights failed to illuminate. The vehicle was taken to honda of downtown los angeles (780 w martin luther king jr blvd, los angeles, ca 90037, (213) 266-7366) where it was diagnosed that the pcm needed to be reprogrammed and the battery was draining power. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure recurred. The contact mentioned nhtsa campaign number: 15v668000 (electrical system) as a possible solution to the failure however, the vin was not included. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vin was not under recall. The failure mileage was approximately 35,383.

I am the second owner of this vehicle. I purchased it certified used from goudy honda 626.576.1114 on 11/13/2019. The battery was replaced at time of vehicle's purchase. I have driven the car less than 2000 miles since i purchased it. I have experienced the stalling issue multiple times each being progressively more acute than the previous. I first reported this to long beach honda at my service apt on 10/15/2020. At that time the issue was a hesitation when the auto idle would engage at a red light, it would start after a second or two of delay. To cope, we have gotten into the habit of using the auto-off button below the gear selector. However, the last two time i have filled up fuel and got in to drive off i have forgotten to 'push the button.' today i forgot to push the button and almost got hit by another car, when my car stalled and refused to start back up. I noticed in the emergency flashers were activated and the car gear selector went to neutral. The danger was i was on a down hill slop and rolled into traffic as i missed my window to pull out had my car started up properly. The dash displayed the push brake and push start message. That did nothing. I had to put the car in park using the park button and then open my drivers side door. After i closed the door the car behaved normal and started without issue. I consider myself lucky, that the driver heading at my door was aware enough to mitigate a much worse turn of events. I will again report this to long beach honda when they open on monday. Searching the web i found a number of other model owners have experienced similar. I would like to see a resolution provided by the manufacture of this vehicle. I will be installing a dash cam to try and capture this when it happens again. Once that is complete, i will have a complete documentation of the case to forward to counsel. Lemon law.

Instead the dealers charge ~ $150 to diagnose the problem and $300-400 to replace the unit. I watched a video of a handyman replace the unit in 7 minutes and he paid only $70 for the part. Faulty start/stop switch-basic internet search reflects that this is a recurring issue with 2016 honda pilots. The vehicle shuts off when the brake is depressed and may not restart due to faulty switch. We had to replace switch at a cost of $299.13. This is not a minor flex, the hood can bounce 2-3 inches. It is extremely unnerving and after time, the latch on the hood will fatigue and eventually break. It is becoming loose. There are currently no recalls by honda. This is a serious oversight. The dealerships have tried to fix it, but never with success. Please look into this. Thank you.

I took it to the dealer and they blamed the issue on "critters," as in rodents/squirrels. I assure you this is not the case! Multiple warning lights flashed at attempts to restart vehicle. I was unable to restart the car for approximately 10 minutes, causing a significant safety issue, as i had 3 children in the car on the way to school. We could have easily been rear ended as we were blocking traffic. The car was towed to a dealer for a repair. I noticed it is worse when going up a sloped surface. Upon having a transmission specialist dismantle and analyze, i was informed the torque converter and other elements of the trans were failing and falling apart. At unusually low mileage, the transmission was heating up very high because of the issue, darkening the fluid and carrying elements of the failing converter etc into other parts of the transmission. This requires a full trans rebuild which costs range from 4-7k depending on where you take it. This is an issue that a basic mechanic may miss, but owners will notice for this year/model over the long term. Potential dangers reported are very concerning, so we chose to have the trans fully rebuilt for the safety of our family. Based off my research, hundreds of other complaints exist online for this year/model describing the same exact experience. Honda should be recalling their transmission for the 2016 honda pilot.

Check engine light (cel) appears, randomly when parked or in motion, indicating a problem with emissions system. Cel began to appear at approximately 77,000 miles. Car now has over 85,000 miles. I purchased the vehicle used, when it had 68,000 miles. I have never driven outside of the u.S.. Cel appears at various speeds between 0 and 60 mph. When in motion and cel is displayed, engine hesitation occurs causing me to increase vehicle speed and engine rpm to ensure i have sufficient power to: complete a turn, pass another vehicle, or make it up a hill. I am never sure i will have enough power. Additionally, the mileage economy display changes from shades of green to solid white. Cel remains visible on dashboard until it randomly disappears. Cel will remain lit ranging from 30 minutes to several days and disappear at various speeds. When it disappears, engine hesitation stops and economy display returns to shades of green depending on whether accelerating or decelerating. I first believed it to be a problem with the fuel tank cap. However, the cap is a hinged flap that returns to the closed position after i have finished refueling. I predominantly use e87 octane with ethanol. But e89 fuel makes no difference because the cel and hesitation randomly still occur. I have not taken to a repair shop because i have not had the opportunity to when the cel is displayed. The repair shop stated they can only diagnose when the cel is displayed. On august 9, 2020, i was driving, at 75, with the cruise control on, i needed extra speed to pass a vehicle on the right side, i pressed the gas pedal with the cruise control still engaged and the vehicle went into a power down mode with the dashboard flashing codes and then went blank. The engine downshifted and the engine speed increased to 7,000 rpm. The car completely shut down, at 75 mph, and restarted with the dashboard lighting up again. After panicking, tried to give the car gas and it would not go. Now at 65 mph, i pulled over to the right lane and coasted down to 40 mph and the car started having power again. We pulled over and shut off the car. I restarted the car and an "emissions system problem" was displayed on the dashboard. The car has 56,217 miles on it. I have a video of this problem. The dashboard warning system displayed the following codes, "emissions system problem"; "all wheel drive system problem"; "transmission system problem" and the "d" drive symbol was flashing on & off. An earlier incident, may 6, 2020, happened to my wife while driving the car in local traffic. Driving at 50 mph, the engine speed increased and the car would not move forward. She also tried to give more gas and the car would not move. She stopped on the side of the highway and shut off the car. She restarted the car and pulled off the highway. She called the honda dealership and immediately took the car into the service center. They took the car and drove it around the building and said they checked the computer for codes, but none where present. At this time the car only had 55,000 to 56,000 miles. They told her next time this happens to take a video so they can see what happens to the car. Take a video while driving a car that is shutting down is their suggestion....

Intermittently receive dash error code "'keyless start system problem ' " it comes and goes. Also vehicle struggles to restart when the a engine idle engages at a stop light. This has created safety issues in the winter when i can't go at a green light or others aren't paying attention and my vehicle won't start. There is no way to fully deactivate this feature except to shut it off after turning in car every time. This is a safety issue that seriously need to be addressed.

Engine auto idle feature has repeatedly malfunctioned. Vehicle will sometimes not restart from the idle position. We have repeatedly taken it back to the dealership and they are unable to diagnose or fix the issue since it occurs intermittently. Check engine light is illuminated along with awd, keyless start system, emissions system, uphill start, trailer assistance, etc. Have had two engine coils replaced and a software upgrade. The lights go off for a couple of days and then return. Have spent $250 in diagnostics and nothing is fixed. Replaced batteries in both key fobs. I was told by dealership to replace the start/stop button for $375. Dealership also recommended replacing fuel injectors for $1600.No guarantee that this will fix any of the issues.

When stopped at a stop light or stop sign the transmission changes from drive to neutral to park and sometimes dies. Car won't restart when following directions on display screen or any other way except sitting and trying to start it over and over after turning on flashers and waving traffic around us.

Mechanic tells me fuel injectors are clogged, and possible damage to catalytic converter. 72k miles on car so past it's warranty. Service bulletin 18-025 issued but i do not believe it should be owner's responsibility to pay for the damage being caused by faulty fuel injectors with intense psi which is causing metal particles to contaminate fuel. This should warrant a recall as it is a safety issue if not repaired and honda should have the burden of paying, not the consumer.

I have a 2016 touring model. I purchased it used from gladstone honda (now swickard) in 2017. In 2018 my battery suddenly died during errands. I had the car jumped and replaced the battery from a local auto supply store. Last year, we started hearing an occasional weird clicking during idle-stop. Now, this year, when in idle-stop at a stop sign or stop light, often the car shuts off, slips into park mode, flashes error messages and will not immediately start again when pushing the ignition button. Sometimes, i have been on a hill and the car rolls backwards. There is no way to permanently disable this feature, so unless you remember to disable it every time you start the car, the safety malfunction repeats itself. It's terrifying and dangerous.
