Jaguar F-type V8 S Convertible 2014

• Recall 141512 [USA]: In the event of a crash necessitating air bag deployment, an incorrect classification may result in the passenger frontal air bag deploying even if there is a child in the front passenger seat, increasing their risk of injury.
  Jaguar land rover north america, llc (jaguar land rover) is recalling certain 2014-2015 jaguar f-type vehicles previously remedied under recall 14v-714. The seatbelt harness connector which connects the seatbelt tension sensor (sts) to the occupant classification sensor control module (ocscm) may not have been correctly wired. As a result, the restraint control module (rcm) may not accurately detect if an adult or child is occupying the seat.
  jaguar will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the seat belt assembly and repair the seatbelt tension sensor harness as necessary, free of charge. The recall began june 3, 2019. Owners may contact jaguar customer service at 1-800-452-4827. Jaguar's number for this recall is h208.

• Recall 115632 [USA]: Should the sts not have been wired correctly, the front passenger air bag may not be suppressed, and may remain activated, even when a child restraint is placed in the front passenger seat or a small statured adult occupies that seat. in the event of a crash necessitating deployment of the front passenger air bag, a child or small stature occupant may be at an increased risk of injury.
  Jaguar land rover north america llc (jaguar) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 f-type vehicles manufactured august 31, 2012, to october 22, 2014. In the affected vehicles the seatbelt harness connector which connects the seatbelt tension sensor (sts) to the occupant classification sensor control module (ocscm) may not have been correctly wired. The ocscm senses whether there is an occupant in the front passenger seating position, and the sts senses whether tension on the seatbelt indicates a child restraint is being used in the front passenger seating position. Both sensors provide information to the restraint control module (rcm) which informs whether the front passenger airbag should be activated, depending on whether the sensors detect the seat is occupied and/or that it is occupied by an adult passenger.

• Recall R/2014/090 [UK]: Vehicle may become unstable at high speeds
  Due to an issue with the software in the engine management system (ems) it is possible that the ems will not restrict the vehicle speed to 137mph if the deployable rear spoiler (drs) does not deploy when it should . This can affect vehicle stability; although this should not affect vehicles used in the uk due to the national speed limit however it could affect vehicles that travel to europe or are used on private grounds.

  The positive cable fixing to the alternator may come loose and lead to an elevated risk of fire. Additionally there are concerns raised regarding the fixings for the engine mounted belt driven ancillaries. If the fixings fail power assistance to the steering can be lost and more input from the driver will be required to steer the vehicle.

  Anti-roll bars of incorrect specification have been fitted to vehicles equipped with all wheel drive (awd) with constantly variable damping (cvd). In this mis-built condition at the extremes of adhesion and in an over steer situation the dynamic stability control (dsc) system will not mitigate the over steer. The drivers will most likely loose vehicle control of the vehicle. This can increase the risk of a crash.

• Recall 2019202 [Canada]: Seats and restraints
  Issue: on certain cars, the occupant classification system (ocs) may not work properly. This could cause the airbag system not to turn off the airbag when an infant or child is seated in the passenger seat. Note: cars that had repairs completed under jaguar recall j047 (transport canada recall 2014-515) require a second inspection for this recall. Safety risk: in a crash, an airbag that deploys in front of an infant or child increases the risk of injury. Corrective actions: the company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their car to a dealer to inspect the passenger seat belt assembly. The seat belt wiring will be repaired as required. Note: children should not be transported in passenger seat until this recall is completed.

• Recall 2014515 [Canada]: Airbag
  On certain vehicles, a defect in the occupant classification system wiring could cause the system to fail to detect a child or small stature adult seated in the front passenger seating position, instead detecting an unoccupied seat and disabling the passenger airbag. The defect could also cause the system to fail to detect a child car seat installed in the passenger seat and not disable the passenger airbag. This could increase the risk of injury to the seat occupant in a crash. Correction: dealers will correct the wiring harness configuration.

The contact stated that the vehicle caught on fire underneath the hood. The fire department was notified and was able to extinguish the fire. A fire report was filed. There were no injuries sustained. The vehicle was towed to a tow facility. The contact stated that an investigation was opened however, the result was inconclusive. Neither the dealer nor manufacturer was contacted or notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 54,000. The vehicle was destroyed.

Found recall concerning passenger air bag on nhtsa website. Dealer says there is no fix for it yet, and it will take months for them to come up with a fix. So the car just sits in my garage while i keep making loan payments, it's unsafe to drive and dealer won't do anything. Last year also had problems with airbag, in that case - the driver's one. Delaer fixed it, just over a year since then the airbag light on dash came on again, dealer refuses to fix, says they only guarantee repairs for 12 months and wants to charge for same parts and labor again. So pretty much both airbags in the car are bad and dealer refuses to take responsibility. Tpms sensor malfunction warning comes on and off all the time - this issue was also supposedly fixed by dealer, they say they can't track the problem and can do nothing more to help. I want a reliable and safe car to drive, clearly this can't be said about jaguars, moreover - dealer is very incompetent, they don't know their own cars and incapable of fixing these cars' constantly reoccurring problems. I don't know what to do!
